As per usual, the little freshling was soaking up all the information in his class that his teacher was provided. Well, when he wasn't daydreaming from the pictures in his books of the plants they were studying, or over the actual plants themselves that were all lined up near the window in the classroom. Gazing at his, which was labeled with his name along the little pot, his attention perked when their teach mentioned the allowance to take the plants with them! instantly his sharp gaze flickered over to the adult, wide and attentive, normally mild smile spreading much wider on his face. Finally! The bell was soon to ring, and so the teacher allowed the class to gather their plants, Gaius wasting no time in scooting off his chair to head for the window. He waited patiently, or as patiently as he could, as the other youngsters ahead of him plucked up theirs. Tiny wing twitching faintly with excitement, he stepped forward once there was an opening and gingerly collected his precious plant. Eyes sparkling, he hugged it t his chest, while skimming it over to make sure the delicate stem and blossom weren't harmed.

Eilwen was always an excellent student in class. She never interrupted with questions, even if she had them, and she always sat still while the teacher spoke. She never got fidgety during class time, but part of that reasoning was because she didn't want to draw attention to herself. Not to her small wings and the multiple tails behind her as well. She had to admit she was excited when their teacher told them they could take their plants with them, she was quite attached to her little plant. Where should she keep it? She could keep it in her room, it was quite the cute decoration and she was sure Xeno and Matilda would be okay with it. She waited for the other students to take their plants before making her way over to her lonely plant by the window. She picked it up gently. "Hello little one, what should we do with you?" She spoke to the plant easily, if only talking to other kids were as easy as talking to plants....

He was so enamored and caught up with gazing and looking over his darling flower, whose petals were a delicate lavender, that he had completely tuned out everything else around him. It was only the sound of the bell to signal the end of the class that he even managed to pull his gaze away, and in rather delayed fashion. Blinking a few times, he looked up and slowly around him at the classroom that was emptying by the second as his classmates took their leave. But he noticed also that there was someone else still lingering, and... murmuring to their plant? Instantly, his wing twitched, and his head lifted higher with intrigue, staring at the plant the other freshling possessed. Curious, he approached with ease, that faint smile he usually sported appearing, "Your plant looks really healthy. You did a good job taking care of it." he stated, tilting his head to get a beter look at it from various angles.

Eilwen was a bit surprised when she heard the other voice close by. Usually she was the last to leave the classroom. Seemed that wasn't the case this time, and her wings fluttered in reaction to the sudden appearance of another person. A little nervous flutter and she turned her eyes to look at the other freshling that had spoke to her. To her surprise she noticed he was a mutant as well, with small little wings on his back. It was always sort of reassuring to know that there were others like herself out there.

She finally spoke up, a bit shy and quiet at first. It would be rude to not say anything in return. Her own flower was yellow in color, but she was quite fond of the purple one he had as well. "I really like the color in yours. And it looks just as healthy as mine! Thank you..." A blush creeped along her face as she spoke, even around fellow mutant she couldn't help but be shy. As she looked him in the face she could see his eyes were also unique like her own. They sure had a lot in common, and he seemed nice! Surely it couldn't hurt to talk to him a bit more...

He was pleasantly impressed and pleased by the state of the others flower, considering there were quite a few of their classmates who had... neglected their plants in some way or another. Sometimes Gaius himself would tend to them if he was able, not wanting to watch the poor things suffer. Heck, he'd take them as his own if he could!

He watched the girl now as she reacted to him, intrigued by her response and actions that followed. It was also in a late reaction on his part that he took notice of her petite wings as well, though noting their clear difference in materials. Interesting... he hadn't met another with tiny wings like his own. He knew a Fallen with a rather lovely large set, that made him ponder if the things were heavy to tote around. But his attention didn't really remain long on the trait, instantly getting drawn back into the wonder that were the plants in their hold. A feeling of pride curled in his chest at the compliment to his own flower, holding it up a little more for her to see better, "Thanks. I really like this colour." peeking back at hers, he gave a very subtle nod of approval, "and yours isn't too bad either." tucking the pot back against his chest, arms hugging around it, he beamed just a little more, though his voice remained surprisingly calm, "You know, it'd be a lot happier outside, than indoors. Will get a lot more of what helps it grow."

Of course Eilwen had taken extra care of her little flower. She took all of her class assignments seriously and besides that it was a living thing! It deserved to be well taken care of and she had been sad to see the state of some of the other student's flowers. No only would that reflect in their grade poorly, but what did that say about their care taking abilites? Not a whole lot honestly.

She perked up at the mention of planting them outside. She hadn't even really considered it honestly. All her little plant had known was the hope of the little painted plot it resided in. She had planted it as a seed and it had grown into the flower it was today from there. Still, there were some cute spots around the building that would make nice little homes for the flowers. Plus, real soil couldn't beat the over-used fertilizer that was in her pot.

"I suppose you're right. They ought to be planted outside...but we'll need some little shovels for that and to find a good spot...."

He waited rather expectantly on her reply, already feeling eager to get to it himself. For awhile now he'd hoped he would have the chance to add the little beauty to his small plot of land, secret to the prying eyes of others. At least he hoped so.... it was tucked away in a little corner of the schools grounds, guarded by already set shrubbery. There wasn't much there yet but... he'd taken the time using his own two hands to til and prep the soil.

When the compliance was voiced in turn, his wings twitched lightly again with glee, nodding in agreement and approval of her decision. At the mention of shovels, he slowly looked around the classroom, honing in on the little basket that was stored in a cubby hole against the wall. Walking over, he reached in and pulled out a little pair for their age, and returned to the girl, handing them to her, "How about these?" they could always return them ,after all. And after looking at her flower again, he tilted his head inquisitivly once more, "Know any good spots with lots of sunlight?"

Hmm. Well, Eilwen did tend to wander the grounds a lot in her spare time. She always seemed to be up to something outside. And if anything, wandering around out there helped her avoid some of the other students. It wasn't that she didn't like them, she was just shy about being around them all. She had grown up in the Scepters and told other races were below her and to top things of she wasn't exactly normal...

She gave the darker freshling a little smile as he handed her the small shovel, that would most certainly do the trick. "Well...there are a couple of spots outside really. I'm not sure which one would have a good balance of light though." She adjusted the plant in her hand, to make room for the shovel she now had to carry as well. She realized then she hadn't even told the other student her name yet! "My names Eilwen. It's nice to meet someone else who cares so much about their flower."

His eyes trailed down from her face to the adjustment of the additional item the girl now had to carry. It was a little delayed on his part, but he stepped forward, and offered his other free hand, while his other holding his own plant hugged it to his side, "I can carry your plant for you, til we find a spot." didn't want her to have to fumble about with all those things in her hands.

Turning to guide them out the room, since everyone else had spilled out of the place already, he gave pause as the chimera spoke up again, his wings twitching lightly with surprise. Right, introductions. He forgot about that sort of thing, most of the time. With a slightly apologetic grin, he turned back to face her fully, "I'm Gaius. And yeah, it's really nice to meet someone else who likes plants and stuff." he paused, "well, flowers at least." he smirked a little, "I'll bet we'll find somewhere for them with enough looking around."

Gaius. She had heard the name before in class, but she had a bad habit of looking anywhere but the other students and the teacher when the spoke up. SO, while she knew names she didn't really know who they belonged to. At least she'd have an easy time remembering his now! When he offered to hold her flower for her she gently slipped it into his offered hand.

"Thank you, Gaius." She smiled and then followed him out of the classroom. She peeked out the windows some more as they made their way toward the exit and she was quite thankful to see that the weather was nice outside. They should have plenty of time to wander around and look for a nice spot for the little budding flower plants.

"Well. Other plants are nice too. But theres just something about flowers that are...attractive to look at." She really liked the outdoors, but she wasn't so attached that she would stare at something without pretty colors to enjoy.

Unlike Eilwen, Gaius was completely oblivious to the names, and members of his own class. Sure he'd look at them, but he would get so easily distracted by the wonders of the studies in the class itself that he would completely forget those around him. He'd yet to make any friends yet because of it, asides from Malachi thankfully, but that'd been sheer luck!

Happy to carry the two plants in his arms, he would switch from staring at one to the other, unable to contain his delight in them by the wide smile on his face. They were so amazing..! It was during this transit that he started to zone out again, and completely tune out what was around him. He'd even started to check out on the conversation that his classmate was having with him, only snapping out of his daze from the sharp sound of someone's shrill laugh nearby. Blinking out of his stupor, he glanced over to the girl, and gave a more mild grin, "Yeah, they are really nice." he agreed.

Oh but that reminded him, "There's this plant club I'm apart of, and this one guy in the club told me his dad teaches another plant class. It's all about herbs." he went quiet for a spell, before looking right at Eilwen, "Do you know what herbs are like?"

Eilwen could tell Gaius was getting distracted, but she didn't really mind it all that much. Since coming to the Academy she hadn't really tried interacting with many of the students, so she was probably lucky that her first prolonged encounter was going as smoothly as it was. Gaius seemed like a nice student for sure. Though his fascination with plants certainly did seem rather intense. Of course, she also tuned out the world when she was working on her models. It was hard to pay attention to other things sometimes, when what interested you the most held your attention in one way or another.

Eilwen twitched her tails gently when Gaius asked her what herbs were like. She honestly didn't know too much about them herself. "I honestly don't know much about them. My Mother used to say there was this herb that grew in the mountains that was good for infections though! I just...don't know how it works. Or why. Or what the plant was...." Nope, she didn't really have any interest in knowing for herself. And now she didn't even really live in the Scepters anymore. She wondered if the plant grew elsewhere. As she found the door that lead them outside she held it open for the Geist with his hands full of flowers.

And tag! ♥ This RP is technically already long enough to post for credit to grow the kiddos! It just has to be wrapped up. But I'll keep it going as long as you'd like!

mkay! maybe we can have it end once they plant the flowers? c8

The talk of herbs was enough to keep him from getting too drawn in by the flowers that were lightly bobbing in his arms as they walked. While he knew they were another kind of plant, he really didn't know the full extent of their use or definition. It'd just been something he'd heard mentioned from time to time in class, when listing off types of plants. Eilwen's further provided information made the freshling mull over this new piece of knowledge a bit further. Up in the mountains and used for infection... so medicine? Brows raising a hair, he looked to her with slightly widened eyes, "so they're medicine then?" he had a tint of awe in his voice.

Plants that healed.. how awesome~!!

Smiling at her with a 'thanks' when the door was opened to the outside, he looked around the immediate area for possible spots that might suit their flowers needs. "Ok. We need somewhere with sunlight, but not..." his nose scrunched a little as he tried to remember the correct word, "dir...ect...? sunlight." he nodded with a little proud smile for managing to get the word placed.

"Ah yes, I do believe they are typically used to medical purposes." Eilwen nodded. It was kind of cool to think of plants being used to heal people. They weren't just there for their prettiness. They were there to help others as well! Plants were really super useful, there were even several of them that they could eat. A lot in fact. More so than the meats in their diet.

"Right, too much can be a bad thing as well." She wandered out into the courtyard, trying to scope out the perfect little spot. Somewhere with just the right amount of lighting for their little budding flowers. Probably somewhere else with some good flower growth? She wandered around a bit peaking around tree and bushes and the side of the buildings, looking for just the perfect spot. She did wander outside pretty often, but she looked more at the structures around her than the grounds themselves.

Plants really were such amazing things... they had so many uses, and came in all sorts of forms. Just like nightmares! Hugging the pots a little tighter to his body, he peered about along with Eilwen as they sought out the perfect spot. Somewhere that not a lot of people would go by, too, so they wouldn't get trampled or messed with.

He followed after the girl a little slower, really looking around, and squinting in a few directions. Not there.... or there... no maybe over there..?

But staring at the building, he noticed there was a spot that was sort of exposed, but guarded by a lush shrub on one side, with a tree on the other. Toddling over to it, he stared down at softened earth, then looked back to his classmate with a grin, "How about here, Eilwen?"
