I've heard of a Pagan witch, a Catholic witch, a Christian witch and the not-heard-often Agnostic witch.
Do any of you have other types of witches you've seen or heard of?
Are you a witch yourself?
Does witchcraft take a part of your religious quest or path?

I think I remember hearing another at a different forum site, but I can't remember it....Though maybe that was just different covens and their ancestry.....
As I've said before, not a witch so I can't be of much help giving you any sort of conversation....but at least its another post in this clan.

I actually know three Christian witches. They use Jesus and Mary as their God and Goddess figures. I'd really just like to call them cafeteria witches but that seems a bit disrespectful.
I myself am a Wiccan Witch.
If you think about it really, Christians do magic all the time. Blessing food, praying, and singing. Not to upset people who have other views but Christianity took a lot of stuff from pre-Christ pagans. They celebrate a bunch of holy days just as we, as in Pagans, have for many centuries.
...Wow, stopping my part rant/part history taking it's course.

Above is what I've heard for Christian witches too. So I have a question for you both. What makes you a pagan witch and a wiccan witch in your eyes?

wow, i have never thought of christianity that way....and its right 0.o lol
and I say im a pagan with because well... at the moment, im an eclectic pagan. Hopefully seeker soon. and im a witch. So that's why I say im a pagan witch :3

^_^ As for me, I have found the Wiccan path to be my calling. No other Pagan patheon(sp?) grabs my attention. I read books of Cunningham and Hiscock-Murphy, having yet to find someone else who is either credible or has enough information in their books.
Right now I have myself set on some things.
My year and a day currently taking place is so that I can be a better Greenie (my term for a witch, one who prefers green magick/magic/majik).
My next year and a day is so that I can focus on what a Wiccan really is and get a better understanding, so maybe one day I can call myself Wiccan. I do not really think I can use Wiccan alone to describe myself because of that.
Honestly, I tend to avoid questions concerning Wicca, from other Pagans, for the most part. I had a bad experiance in the ED here on Gaia and have since refrained from really going into detail about my personal beliefs.
But, since it is just you and Scuba really, I don't feel as if I will be harped upon and will greatfully say what I believe. It is also because you asked and are an awesome person.

I got a lot of crap from people in the LD because of my beliefs, or my confusion on them.
I just started to study, but i forgot to write down the date>.< lol
I either want to join wicca, or learn more about the Egyptian gods

I actually have a connection with Bast. Cats just seem to come around from a grumpy state to a nice state just for me. I also spoil my cat so that might be a contrabution to having a friendly scent.
People in the forums of GD and ED or even religion guilds who are extemeists or elitists, need to back off. Seriously, M+R forum in ED is like commiting social suicide if you post a lot in them. They, meaning anyone, will make you fustrated or try to make you question your beilefs.
They take apart your posts sentence by sentence. It's rude and quite frankly, annoying. The eliteist Wiccans on there are really obnoxious, you'd be ambushed with "why do you believe this?" "what makes you better than this?" "Why do you call yourself this?" It's better to stick your hand in a beehive and be stung than to even try and rationalize with them

I know what you mean D:
I hate when they tear apart your sentences, and i hate when they put words in your mouth. That's why i like my guild, they dont do that.
I love egyptian mythology, i've been attracted to it since the 4th grade. But there are so many deities...i wouldn't like to worship so many...

I get where you both are coming from with what you call yourselves. WitchHunterRobin, that you are working so hard to educate yourself like that is amazing. Makes me wish I could get myself into something that. I think I question my sources too much to do it too sweatdrop
LD, ED and M&R...I spent a little time in there when I first got on here (about a half a year after I had started down this path) and well....I avoid it because I take too many things to heart and it really got to me. And I was mostly lurking! I got my head chewed off in one of those for trying to direct a confused person to a site I thought could help.
And about all those Egyptian Deities.....you know that most had several names? Some as many as five or more? wink Maybe you did but that might make it seem like you can get into that more with out being overwhelmed if you remember that.

Yea, but I guess I'm just at a time where I'm not thinking about it as much as I did. I mean back in june I was looking for books and websites but....well in a week I head off to college for the first year and I'm thinking about that a lot more then anything else right now xp I guess if I wasn't going six hours away I'd probably be better! xd
