Im watching the Discovery channel and they were like "Wicca, or witchcraft, is a earth based religion..."
I grew pissed, and im not even wiccan xD
of course, I do really want to meet a wiccan.
How fertility based is it? Some idiot said that when the coven has meetings that every one is naked...
And I know that to be a true wiccan you have to join a coven, but can you still believe in wicca and not be in a coven?

If my understanding is correct (don't hold me to everything I'm learning) technically you don't have to be in a coven; you'd be solitary then. (though nothing says anything about being accepted by the rest if you are not...remember I'm not Wiccan/Witch so I have to go off of what I learned when I was looking into everything equally)
Lots of things I've read (and found from Witches/Wiccans) have said it is an earth based faith....so I'm not sure what to go with there. Maybe I should be considering my sources.
I'm not sure where your 'fertility based' thing comes in...
As for the everyone is naked...You know that out there somewhere there is a coven that meets as they say 'skyclad'. Everyone has their kooks y'know xp Not to say that all are but I know I read in one of my 'tries to cover all relevent first time questions' paganism books that some covens do. Take that how you want too.
Did I help? rofl

O-o Why'd you get pissed?
I'm a solitary and I sure as hell [pardon my french] do not really care to be naked for rituals. I'm pretty sure the Goddess and or God knows what you look like naked.
The 'naked' issue is that some covens or solitaries think it is a relatively good idea to be naked while during ritual/ceremony, others disapprove of the idea, dismissing it. It's a personal choice.
And as for the fertility, there is a Major Sabbat called Beltaine. It is when the Goddess and God respectfully perform the Great Rite. No, sex is not the main focus of Wicca but it is a thing to be respected and not to be flouted about like a hooker.
._. ...oh and as for the "true" Wiccan stuff... I don't think joining a coven makes you anymore special than a Solitary. Yes, you can rely on others for help but almost all books for beginners state that you do not have to join a coven to be a "true" Wiccan.
Look at me, I'm not in a coven yet I am very much on the way to becoming, in my opinion, a real Wiccan. Some Pagans like the 100 +1 day challenge, so I am doing that challenge.
[If you really want to know more. Just ask specific questions and I think, in all probablity, I can help you out.]

Well, as they went on they focused only on this women summoning spirits and she made the house all goth looking and she was dressing in all black all the time and I know that wiccans dont do that...do they?
So I dont have to join a coven? yays :] So if you dont join a coven that means you dont have to be 18...
How did you (and others) get into wicca?

Pfft. I hate it when people who want to be "goth" think it includes wearing a huge pentagram and screaming they are a witch.
No. Most Wiccans and witches are not goth. Plus, summoning spirits are not always a good thing. There must be good intentions and good spirits to call about.
As for how I got into Wicca: I was called to it. When I was a little child I was always facinated with witches and spells, so I guess I had my calling from a very young age. Around age twelve, I saw a sticker one someone's car that said: Don't make God angry, or she'll get you. ._. Kinda lame bumper sticker but it made me think about going the agnostic route. A few days later I told my family I was agnostic. At sixteen, I was looking for a dream book and I saw a book for Wicca. I hadn't really decided that I was going to get serious about it until I was seventeen.

Thats cool :]
I also have another question? Can their be some give and take of Wicca? There is one belief of mine that i will not change and that is my belief in dragons. I have dragon spirit guides that are always their for me when I need them. I even want to start basing some of my magic from my dragons, is there such a thing?

You can put whatever you wish to use, within the Rule of Three, as your practise if you are Eclectic(sp?). I am Eclectic. If you think dragons are part of your Wiccan studies, that is your own thing. In my own studies, I know about house spirits and animal spirits from a past owner who killed them near my bedroom.

oh, poor animals :[
and thanks :] I would never be able to part with my dragons, they are a part of me now :]
And there is a ghost who lives in my boyfriends house, he isn't a bad ghost, but he does like to scare new comers lol. He killed himself in the basement (hung himself). He was a doctor and his wife left him and yeah, you know the rest of that story sweatdrop

The most recent Pagan lady was indeed a little interesting in her methods, but who am I to judge?

I've never gotten to see that one, though I've always been a little worried about it, in case it felt awkward to watch. But I know what you mean, I watched a lot of it for a good while, don't now since I started using it as background noise...such is the sign to change my programming habits xd
