No worries, people. Just a random chat area. But it is fun to play with reference titles, don't you think?
@Mods: feel free to tell me if I'm overstepping anything?
For everyone else... who here would love to have... 'The One Ring'?
One Ring to Rule them All; One Ring to Find them; One Ring to Gather them all And in the Darkness Bind them.

Are you kidding? I would have cute chicks line up for miles waiting to kiss it!
Seriously though, I'd have to think about that one. I wouldn't mind bearing the power, but I'd also hate to look like a dope fiend on crack.

This is true. no one wants to look like a dope fiend.
*chuckles at the thought of Schmeagel as a dope fiend* We musts has it... we wantses it... curses to the Baggins. We hateses them. They steals it from us... -gollum gollum-
oh wow... I'm actually scared at how easy it was to write that out... I have been reading too much Lord of the Rings recently....
but the fat one suspects. He watches us, always is watching.... so we pokeses his eyes out!

Oh! Since you've read the books, I have a question for you.
Is it true that in the book version that the Shire was destroyed?

Now that's actually the funny thing... I'm still reading somewhere between the end of 'The Two Towers' and the beginning of 'The Return of the King'. And the other problem is besides not knowing for certain until I read the end of 'The Return of the King' when the Hobbits return to the Shire, to this point, all I've read is that Sam looked into the water with Frodo while they were with the Lady of Lorien. And when Sam exclaimed what he'd seen... that it looked to him as if part of the Shire were being torn down for the sake of Industry, all Galadriel would say was that they had glimpsed what could be, not necessarily what would be, or at least that in some time (theirs or another) that the destruction of the Shire was likely if no one stood against the Dark Lord.
In which case Sauron's reach would spread to all parts of the world, including the Shire. See how vague it is?

Dude, I really need to read those books...
The movies could never replace the subtleties expressed in good writing.

chino pisces Dude, I really need to read those books... The movies could never replace the subtleties expressed in good writing. I never actually finished the series (The Return of the King just ruined it for me in the first two chapters), bit IF the Shire was destroyed, I think it was because Saruman was hell-bent on killing Frodo. I think he traveled to the Shire in order to kill Frodo, but gets killed in the process.

I apologize for my less than stellar attendence as of late. Just too many things on my plate. Anyway, I'm gonna try and get back into ZOMG, though I'm more likely to start with my other account (Inoman_san). That account is still at a low enough power level that I can grab more orbs (farm them, as it were), and than just sort of spread the wealth.
Anyway, good to see you guys, and I'm right in the middle of the chapter where the Gondoran/Rohirrim Army is assembled before the Black Gate. There is a chapter titled 'The Scouring of the Shire', but I have yet to approach it.
