Just as an FYI, Clan tab in chat works regardless of server, just talked to someone from the clan on another server, this will help crewing up alot.

I think I'm going to try and put together a small FAQ about chatting and usual MMO rules and phrases.. And some of the phrases that have been coined for this particular game. But that all depends on whenever I get around to it.. and today isn't the day. *just got off work and is ready to crawl into her room and play CONSOLE games before taking a midday nap whee *

Sounds like a plan, If you need any help I'd be glad to give a hand. Definitely would come in handy I had a conversation that took way to long the other day because people didn't know what pulling or training or kiting were.

Pull-ing -- A method for solo-farming and scouting for a crew, You or everyone stands as far away from a mob as possible 1 person either uses long range attack or slowly moves forward until the least amount of enemy's is aggro'd and then pulled back to group or far away from the rest of the mob so that you fight as few as possible, thus greatly increasing the chances of living.

Train-ing -- Used for kicks by not nice people to kill or disrupt others gameplay or as a method of pull-ing large mobs back to well prepared crew. Basically the group get set up and ready then one person runs around and collects as many mobs as possible in a long "train" and leads them around to the aforementioned prepared group or into totally unrelated and unprepared crew. Prepared crew results in hectic combat followed by nice drops and resting, Un-prepared crew typically results in Death.

Kite-ing -- Method of Solo-farming for bosses or orange-con and above. Use distance attacks and de-buffs to run around the victim constantly attacking and keeping victim mired down. Like a little kid with a kite, kid holds string(agro/hate) kite(Boss/mob) goes around in circles and has dificulty getting to kid(you). note surprised nly works on close combat mobs, ranged bosses will just sit there and pound on you unless you have a longer range. methods of use in zOMG - use of Hunters Bow(longest range/Slow debuff) and rings like gumshoe or i think maybe duct-tape. Scardey-cat work on She-Wolf and OMGWTF don't know of other bosses, Hornets nest may work as well. Keep them slow with Hunters and gumshoe while pounding them with solar-rays, shark attack, guns (I think thats the order of preference tho more testing is required) Shuriken works well because of its interupt abilty tho the range is not optimal. Other rings that are good to have equiped while doing this method of farming = Teflon Spray, Ghost, Turtle. Oh and healing works nice as well- Diagnose, bandage, and Divinity are good choices. uses lots of stamina because most all the ranged attacks and debuffs are stamina-hogs. Uhm yeah.

I usually call that "Luring" myself. And I didn't know what kiting was, I usually try to get close to the target myself so I can use my long & short ranged attacks quickly. Tho I use a chef set... so I'm a tank. lol

Luring works as well term wise tho typically I've seen it used term-wise for something in-between a pull and a train, typically for all the mobs on 1 screen maybe, with a train were talking massive amounts of enemys. With zOMG you can't really get those massive trains(exept maybe anchorbugs in north gold coast) because most enemies will stop aggro after 1 or 2 screens, and most people are leary because of the lagg issues still rampant.

But I suppose number-wise it would be
Pull -----> Lure ------> Train

I think I may get screen shots of the various numbers I'm talking about or maybe do some video capture of the various terms so people can see what I'm talking about as opposed to having to read my inane rambling.

OOO blue dots ? I take that would be on the map, I have yet to see one of those can't wait.

and some definitions
RoF is Rate of Fire, high Rof you can get more shots off, Low RoF less shots

AoE is Area of effect ie. Spells(in this case rings that have a large area of effect) most typically used to describe damage spells but also used for buff spells. Rain of Fire, Heavy Water balloon, Divinity, Healing Halo

DoT is Damage over Time mostly spells used for Kite-ing tho the Dot rings in this case are not particularly suited for that purpose as Rain of Fire only works around you and to kite you don't want the mobs around you, HotFoot is also a Dot ring and is more suited to kite-ing.

DD is Direct Damage, Hunters Bow, Shark attack and Bump I think kind of fall into this category. They Don't really but these are the closest analogy I could think of, they would fit better if they Bypassed some defense in some way as typically a direct damage spell Deals Damage directly to health without being lessened by Defense.

Some things I have noticed about various rings that may help in deciding witch to go with.

Hunters Bow - Longest range and has the added slow effect (slows enemy down so you can get more shots in)

Shark Attack - Mid Range and causes knockback, Most damage of ranged attack.

HotFoot - Mid range, DoT, Very high RoF (works well with hunters bow for kiteing thos takes long time as damage from either is not high add Shark Attack for knockback and damage)

Shuriken - Mid Range, Mid Damage, Interupts some animated actions, Higher accuracy than most rings(ie. higher hit percentage)

Mantis - 2nd least damage of melee attacks, lowest stamina usage of melee, Highest RoF

Hack - Most damage of Melee, Most stamina usage, lowest RoF, causes knockback

Slash - 3rd most damage, middle stamina usage, Middle RoF, deals damage to all animate about 20 degrees to either side of you target

Dervish - least damage of melee attacks, deals damage to all animated adjacent to you, Mid stamina, slightly quicker RoF than slash, also Causes Knockback.

Turtle - Designed for use when in trouble I believe. Short duration, long recharge, can block all attacks while active. At higher levels will actually heal you when you get hit. Good for support type/Medic/Solo farmer

Guns, Guns, Guns - Very fast RoF, low damage
, low stamina usage, causes knockback

1 glitch in ring usage that I have noticed so far. If using the Demon set of rings (Stamina recharge boost) and you have Divinity active (Stamina Recharge boost) you will recharge stamina at the lesser boost rate, typicaly the Demon set depending on how much rage was channeled into the Divinty.

Also on a side note. Yes the lagg is bad, however it is not typical lagg in the sense that it derives from poor connection, lots going on on the screen etc. If that were the case then only the people who had bad connections, or who were in large farming areas would experience the lagg. Come to find out the lagg that most people are experienceing is due to a problem with Flash player and is centered on the servers at Gaia. I believe what it was called is a memory leak that they are trying to fix. It causes the zOMG servers to go down with the lag. One this lag sets in to one of the servers it just gets worse until the server crashes. Once the server is brought back up the lag resets until the memory leak starts deleting their critical memory and starts up again. Gaia programers are working on the problem and hopefully we should have a solution shortly.

good details, Yeah its pretty hard to talk to people who havn't played MMO's of any kind before because those terms are used a lot all over the world.
