Epinar couldn't help but sigh in contentment. It was an overcast day, and there was a nice breeze. Her sister was off somewhere, but that didn't bother her. There wasn't anything around here that could harm her. It wasn't raining yet, which meant she didn't need to find any shelter. It would be nice when the rain was warm again, instead of freezing cold as it was right now. But, the world had it's season, and she just had to adapt to it. She fluffed her feathers up a bit to insulate her a bit from the breeze, and her little feather plume helped her sense the currents of the air. It was more useful when she was flying, but it also helped with taking off. It worked like whiskers on a cat, though right now, she wasn't paying attention to the signals it sent. She did not feel the need to fly at the moment
It felt like a rather decent day so Lijep saw no reason to stop his traveling, he would only need to stop and, eat a bit or find a nice little trickle of water to quench his growing thirst. Sniffing the breeze idily the large stallion plodded along enjoy the noise his hoofs made thumping lightly to the earth as he moved through a lovely looking little meadow. There his eyes caught another..someone sort of colored like him..not male but, female. Never one to startle others Lijep shook his short mane out and stomped the ground a bit to get the winged mare's attention. "Sorry..didn't wnat to startle you miss."
Epinar looked over as she heard someone stamp a hoof, and noticed a rather large white stallion with black feet and blue tips on everything. She smiled as she noticed the short mane he had on, and nodded a greeting. "I appreciate that. Sometimes, i get lost in whatever I'm doing and just end up getting surprised. My name is Epinar. May I ask what yours is?"
Smiling warmly Lijep moved a bit closer to Epinar as he spoke "Oh nice to meet you then. I am Lijep..what are you doing out and about today miss Epinar? Exploring or just relaxing?"
She smiled back at him. "Nice to meet you Lijep." Epinar then stretched her wings a bit, before settling them back to her sides, then gave herself a good shake from nose to tail. "Just came out to enjoy the weather. I like it when there are clouds, because the sun isn't so bright, but I'm not a fan of cold rain. I was rather hoping we would have a warmer sprinkle then what we've been living with recently. But I don't think that's going to happen. The breeze is still too cold for it to be a warm rain."
Watching her wings a bit curiously Lijep looked up at the sky his blue eyes showing only happiness per usual. "Rain? Oh no..rain isn't that fun to me unless I'm somewhere dry and safe..then it's nice to listen to it hititng the earth..kinda like music actually." Shifint some he leaned his head down nibblign at a bit of grass tasting it his tail swishing. "Soon it will be warm miss Epinar..tell me do you travel?"
She smiled, and replied, "Rain is fun to dance and play in. Though when it is really heavy, it is nice to be somewhere dry and warm, and easy to watch it. Though it makes it a bit hard to fly if the feathers get too wet. And it does carry its own tune." She gave him a big friendly smile, and looked up as well. "I look forward to the warmth. And I do travel a bit. Especially when I get the urge to fly, I just can't stop myself from leaving the ground. Though I mostly try to land back in my area, but sometimes I go out and see what the rest of the world looks like."
Getting a slightly dreamy expression Lijep wondered what it must be liek to fly. "Is it fun to fly then? I've always wondered...it looks fun. It would make travelling so much easier." Shaking hsi head slightly the stallion moved his head down again eating a few tufts of grass that tasted rather delicious. "Hmm...play in it? I've never danced before but, I do play with little oens when I encounter them. Such lovely things..little foals running about."
"Oh yes. It is really fun to fly. Though it is hard work. You have to build up your wings to be able to travel anywhere. But when you do, you can stay up there for hours, gliding on the currents, soaring with the birds." She smiled at the memory. "There is nothing like pawing at the air as you climb through it, waiting until it's not that hard of a pull and just letting yourself hang there in the air, wheeling and turning; the wind singing over your feathers, and you can feel each one the wind touches. There is no feeling in the world like it." She shook her head, turning back to her companion. "I've often felt kind-of sorry for those that couldn't fly. But then, we are each born with our gifts. Most of the grounded ones run a lot faster then me. It is their own way of flight." She tilted her head sideway, ears flicking forward and back for a moment. "I've never even seen a foal actually. None come around here, so I have never played with them either. I know they exist, for how would we grow, and how would we continue on, but that is the saddest part of this field. Therre are no foals here." She reached down to take a few mouthfulls of grass.
Tilting his head some Lijep chewed a few mroe mouthful's of grass thoughtfully listening as she spoke so..passionately about flying. It made him wish for it evne more but, also had him smiling and, chuckling lightly. "I'm not the fastest thing on two legs..comes with being so large and muscled I suppose. " Foals would...make the field even more fun but, he rather enjoyed the wind mare's company foals or not. "Foals are lovely creatures. I met a mini foal once. She was just so cute." sighing somewhat wistfully Lijep trotted about nibbling here and there as he went occasionally he would lift his head to speak. "Exploring is like..my flying..meeting new creatures, seeing new things. Exploring caves and, meadows and swimming. Nothing better in the world except for foals and, playing with foals
Epinar nodded her head. "I have met one of the tiny ones too. I think her name was Panaha. She was a little thing, even for the small ones. She reminded me of a foal. She was always daydreaming though, and dreaming of flying. She had a pair of wings, but they were a marking on her back, so real that they looked as though she could have used them. That is the smallest horse I have met here." She thought for a moment, then shook her head. "I still think the best thing in the world is flying. There's nothing like the freedom of not being bound to the ground.
He didn't agree but, thats because Lijep hadn't ever flown and, wouldn't ever fly. "Well..maybe you should meet some foals? Though they are my favorite because I can't ever fly so I don't know how wonderful it must be..to be so light and free but, the ground is more suited for the likes of me. " All Lijep could picture in his mind was him with small wings trying to hold his large frame afloat before he crash landed to the earth.
She nodded to him. "Perhaps I will one day. Maybe in one of my travels, I will actually find some. That should turn out to be an interesting day." She shook herself again as the breeze caressed her, and she took a deep breath of it, filling her lungs and letting it out slowly, before turning her attention to him. "Speaking of foals, since you love them so much, do you have any of your own?"

Lijep shook his head a bit a slight sadness flickering in his eyes before he looked to the sky again. "No..no foals of my own. I..don't really..see myself with a female mate so I don't have a way to have children of my own." He still didn't have a male lifemate either which just..made Lijep feel worse. Huffing some he shook off the bad feelings and, smiled once more. "So..what about you? Do you have someone? Or a family?"
"I have a sister, but that's all of my family. My parents died a while ago. There is just she and I now, and she runs off and does her own thing. I see her sometimes. As for someone special, I haven't found anyone I've liked yet."
