With the loss of the original academy, with the entire organization forced underground, the training area has changed once more. An Island of new beginnings, well suited to the needs of all three classes. Thus, it has become the perfect place for training the next generation. Though deep within it's center there is a secret. One that has the potential to bring a new power to the academy, but by that same token, it is a secret that can threaten to bring about it's destruction as well.

Yet, reaching the center isn't easy, and the danger here grows greater as one reaches further inland. Who will be the one to succeed, and who will vanish on this island's shores never to be seen again? For a beginning also means an end.

Rules

- There are three sections to the Island, each containing three different types of pokemon, Common, Uncommon, & Rare. To reach each of the three rings, you must post ten times, and each time that you post you must roll 1d20.

- If you Roll any number higher than 10 ...you will encounter a pokemon to fight & defeat. If you roll a 1 you will experience have to battle the Guardian of that area.

- HP does not reset/heal after battle, so each battle you fight will take a greater toll on your pokemon.

- Once your pokemon's HP reaches 0 your pokemon will faint/ If your pokemon's HP is knocked below -7 your pokemon will die. Thus, knowing when to leave a battle is your best chance of survival, and avoiding unnecessary conflict can save your life.

- To capture a pokemon, you must roll 1d20. The number needs to be higher than the pokemon's Capture Rate.

- You must roll 1 D4 in your first post to determine which of the three paths you will end up on.

Restless Volcano

A strange rocky land that always seems to be hot, no matter the time of day. The ground occasionally churns beneath the feet of any poor traveler who happens upon these shores. Keep an eye out whenever you take a step—you’re likely to take a fall down a particularly jagged rock slide, and you might not like what you find at the bottom. Still, as any good adventurer knows, it’s the roughest paths that brings the most rewards!... Sometimes. In the very least, it’s where you are now, so suck it up, roll up your pants, and try to avoid any lava.

Brackish Bog

This is a place made of salt and death. Where fresh water from further inland brings all manner of dead plants to be washed out to sea, but over the years the route has become congested, the slowing of the current allowing new flora to grow over the old and increase the problem. This is a place where the living survive off the dead, so watch your step lest you become something's next meal; and don't drink the water.

Foggy Forest

As you step off the boat, the sunshine and bright nature of the ocean ends as you enter the woods. Instead shadows loom overhead casting all sorts of forms and shapes throughout the way. Staying on the brown grassy trail would be wise. Odd as it may be, a thick fog begins to creep up rising from the ground to make sight almost impossible. You must trudge along hoping not to get lost. Silence marks the forest except for the sounds as the leaves and sticks crackle beneath your feet. Beware what could be lurking and what illusions this place may hold. The forest holds secrets and you could be its next victim.

Arriving at the island Argyle and Jekyll would be leaning over either side of the boat, attempting not to vomit. Those...those had certainly been rough seas. Oh he was not looking forward to the ride back....well, maybe the barfing would attract a water-type he could catch. That'd be handy.

Picking up his Croagunk and placing it limply on his shoulder, the boy would get off the boat and try to determine where he was exactly....

The youth had landed on a rough and rocky beach. Hot, dry wind would blow past him, kicking up bits of sand and stone in it's wake. Distantly, a rumble of the churn earth rang out.

Argyle openly groaned as he realized his location. Magnificent, hot and dry. His hair was going to be an itchy frizzy mess in an instant. There was a reason he went to such great lengths to obtain specific shampoos and conditioners. Ugh.

Unfortunately all too aware that grumbling and groaning wouldn't get himself anywhere, Argyle rose from the boat and put his feet on solid ground at last. Lifting a hand to his tie he'd loosen it, even going so far as to undo a button. He didn't do well in heat, all the more so wearing a travelling cloak and his jacket. Blistering Blastoise what did Arceus have against him. Slumping forward, a sour expression already upon his face, Argyle would comment to his partner in this adventure, stating quite clearly "Sometimes I wish you were a Palpitoad."

">And sometimes I wish you were a female bikini model. Sadly neither of us is getting what we want<" Jekyll would shoot back, a Cheshire grin on his amphibious lips. All in all he was glad to be paired with Argyle. He doubted the shrew would be this amusing.

Trudging forward Argyle let out a groan. He was barely to the edge of the beach leading up to the Volcano and already he was sweating. The wind had managed to turn his hair into a fright as well; lucky there weren't a particularly large number of leaves of twigs in this area. For once the boy actually wished he was back at the manor wit the shrew. At least there it was cool. OH blessed air conditioning where were you when needed most!

Although not as in poor a state so quickly as his trainer, Jekyll didn't look particularly pleased already. Rather than sweating and hence getting wetter, the Croagunk was slowly drying out. His kind belonged in marshes not deserts. This weather wasn't pleasant for him either.

The sound of a sweet, trilling song would break the eternal rushing of the warm winds. A Fletchling bounced across the ground, whistling brightly despite the rather grumpy surrounds. He hopped from place to place, rather than using his wings to flit about, and appeared to be having a grand old time. As he skipped happily, he glanced up at the pair, more curious that threatening or threatened.

Argyle would actually slow at the sight of the bird. Interesting to find Fletchlings here, especially this time of year. He supposed it was the heat of the volcano. The bird reminded him of home in a way, well the parts of home he liked anyway. Kalos wasn't a terrible place to live; although he'd heard positive things about Johto and Unova listening to the Mistress's various guests over the years. Still it wasn't a fighter from the looks of it, and he didn't exactly have the PokeBalls to spare right now. ONWARD TO.....somewhere cooler he hoped....

As Argyle passed the the bird, Jekyll would take the team to lean over the back of the boy's shoulder, a finger each at his cheeks as he blew a big fat raspberry at the bird!

Argyle would continue his trudge up the volcano trail, the amount of sweat building his clothes making them heavy and a bit uncomfortable. He could only pray the next mission took him somewhere cooler....no cold....freezing actually. Snow everywhere. He almost wanted to spit at lava right now but he doubted that'd exactly change the lava's thoughts on being hot.

>AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!<

Despite the fact that Argyle made no secret of his trek across the shuddering sands, and the fact that there wasn't much live around them to begin with, he would still manage to startle something. In this case, he'd find a very agitated and excited Darumaka, one he'd come very close to stepping on-- given how well she blended in with the background, this wasn't strictly surprising.

>WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT?< she wailed, waving her little fists at him. >WA-WA-WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING, YAY BIG JERK! DONTCHA GOT NO CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS, YA FILTHY TOWNIE?< She bounced up and down, clearly having worked herself into a tizzy. >PUT'EM UP, PUT'EM UP!< Clearly, he wasn't getting out of this mess without SOMETHING going down.

Argyle felt a nerve twitch in his forehead. He didn't know what this Pokemon was saying but it was clear by it's hasty reaction and the gesturing it wasn't particularly polite. Though he also had a feeling this thing wasn't particularly bright either. He was half tempted to distract it with Jekyll, take a stone off the ground and toss it somewhere behind the Fire-type, shouting and pointing that some large predatory Pokemon was right behind it. Then running. It'd probably fall for that too. Lord Arceus give him strength.

Jekyll on the other hand had a very different set of ideas. Snickering like a particular cartoon racers sidekick, the Croagunk would jump down from Argyle's shoulder ">Townie eh? Now what's a country-bumpkin like yourself doin' out here. It's dangerous ya know, easy to get stepped on. Maybe ya shoulda been watching where ya were standing. My friend here's awful hard to miss unlike a certain lil runt<" Jekyll sneered.

Seeing what Jekyll was doing even without a single intelligible word between, Argyle would sigh. Battle it is then.

Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M]
Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 3
[Temperament] Naughty
Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.

Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard.

Steam was quite literally pouring off the Fire-type-- apparently, she was hopping mad. Indeed, she bounced from foot to foot, vibrating with fury as she approached the mouthy Croagunk. >WHO'RE YOU CALLING A RUNTY BUMPKIN?< Never mind that those words hadn't come out in that exact manner, the Darumaka was off and ranting. >YOU COME INTO MY HOME AND YOUR BRING YOUR CLOMPING RIDE AND YOU INSULT ME? WHY I OUTTA--! COME AT ME, BRO!< With all the grace of a drunken Totodile, the little red roly-poly rolled backwards, attempting to avoid her assailant and taunting him into action.

">This is your home? My you have let the place go haven't you! Didn't your mommy ever teach you to clean up after yourself? <" The Croagunk mocked, a cruel glint in his eyes ">Oh but please do continue. Why should I bother throwing insults when you do so well at doing it to yourself?" He asked, though the question was purely rhetorical. Then the Poison-type would look her up and down ">Not that you don't have plenty to work with.<"

Meanwhile Argyle was subjected to steam, bouncing, and a series of increasingly aggressive sounding croaks. He assumed this was the banter portion of the episode. Had the credits rolled? Was that whole trudge up this way the 'last time on...' portion? Not that he watched much TV. Too busy cleaning. Still the other staff did have such childish tastes when they thought the Mistress wasn't looking. IT was rather convenient when he needed a favor....ah but he was trailing off wasn't he? There certainly wasn't so much time he could waste it on nostalgia.

Looking at the Darumaka's flimsy defense, Argyle would give the commend in a clear voice "Jekyll, Mud-slap. We'll do this thing a favour and make it blend even better with it's surroundings."

">Or just bury it<" The Fighting-type roaked. Rolling his tongue in his mouth, Jekyll would gather a big thick wad of saliva and spit it into the nearest pile of dirt. Mixing it with his fingers he'd then produce a large clump of mud, tossing it sideways so that it would smack the Darumaka cleanly, metaphorically speaking because there was nothing clean about this, across the cheek.

(8-1)+(9-7) 9 x 2 = 18 DMG! 15-18 = - 3 HP! Darumaka is unconscious!

Well, apparently she'd gotten in over her head. The Darumaka hadn't even seen what hit her before being conked out in the mud. Only her stubby little legs could be seen sticking out of the sludge and rocks she'd be knocked into. That being said, she wasn't moving, so it was clear who the winner was. Argyle was free to move forward!

Jekyll receives 21 EXP!
