Welcome to what is dubbed the soul journal, this place is to keep track of events, thoughts and important things of that nature. Mysteries are something everyone is familiar with, but a chance to unravel a mystery is something else completely. Here, written upon pieces of paper is everything that will hopefully unravel that mystery.
But first... a few rules for the reader.1. Please don't post without permission, or unless you're dropping something off. 2. If you do post, please use as much proper spelling and grammar as possible.... be literate is all I ask. 3. If you'd like a playdate, just PM me to ask and we can take it to the guild or thread... or if not any of those two, check in to the inn link in the Home post. I'm there too.... along with the whole family. >>;

They say that each painting reveals that the soul within is like, and ultimately the prophecy foreordained about that soul. The mansion, the soul, the painting are all mysteries that are hidden and locked away. Here lay all the clues gathered, and perhaps with time this mystery will be solved. My first clue, Jin's painting itself. The painting really affects how he looks, he has the same jewels on his arms and stomach.

Name: Kara Winters Age: Around 24 Hair Colour: Brown Eye Colour: Green Likes: Sweets, pets, cute and cuddly things and the night Dislikes: Mean people, bullies and people being angry at her. About:Kara, a wanderer, traveller and part time potion maker came to settle into this world with only a little cafe to start off, and only a cat and child to keep her company. Since then her little home has expanded to eleven children (and without a doubt still counting), with a possibily of becoming a grandmother in the future. She has opened an inn, which let's travellers rest though only her family lives there, and has founded a Fighting and Magic School with one Tracy Scott, and she hadn't turned 25 yet. These days she spends (or divides) her time between helping run the school, teaching, running the inn and looking after way too many kids. Her child rearing/fetish/obsession has gotten a few of her friends worried, or created betting pools among her current children when the next sibling is going to show up. Though with the soul at least she can say this time it wasn't her fault... for once....

Coming into a large family is somewhat daulting, especially if that family keeps growing, especially if that family has a strong sense of bond. It's kind of scary in a way.... {Donovan Lau} Having come into the family a few months after Jin was adopted, had evenually decided to stay. He's now like a father figure (or father) to the children younger children.
{Wish} Wish is an angelic Fluffy Cat, born and raised more for the sake of keeping Kara out of trouble, though these days she's trying to keep Mia out of trouble instead. She's calm and loyal, she can be seen patrolling or being an escort to someone in the family.
{Lily Mist} A fairie Fluffy Cat brought as an adult because it seemed no one else wanted her, she spends her time spying on people and keeping an eye out. Though there isn't much to say about her, she's willing to give advice, if you want it or not.
{Cinderella} The eldest child adopted and the eldest girl, Cinderella or Cindy for short hails from a race of Phoneix Children who are born out of feathers. What her past life might have been like, the only clue is a glass slipper. Though the eldest she looks like a child, and for someone who is a budding potion maker she finds that fustrating.
{Triton} The first to reach adulthood, Triton comes from a race known as the Neko Konekos. He has done is schooling (in fact is still in school), training in the art of fighting so he can travel. Though he finds himself unexpectedly grounded with the adoption (or rather forced guardianship) of Krysis another Neko Koneko who is his 'son' so to speak.
{Trisha} Trisha is the eldest of the many Second You children brought to the inn to be raised. She is of the angelic race, and chances are will soon become a young woman. At the moment though Trisha simply helps out around the inn, though she is a budding artist in search of inspiration.
{Yue & Yukito} The angelic Second You twins are pretty normal, minus the fact that they're growing up and seemingly ready to start families of their own that is. Both mages by nature, Yue spends his time as a security guard while also spending time with his love Jaseth and their adopted child Seki. Yukito spends his time a healer, and it's unknown yet if he want's the same family life as Yue does.
{Mia} Mia... is a doll, to lack a better term, one brought to life so for anyone knows she could possibily always stay a doll for the rest of her life, or she might grow, or might now. Really it depends, though a child she looks much older, or it's just she's far too pretty to be real. She's kind of creepy.
{Feng and Ryu} The mertwins that seem to embody the relationship between the Phoneix and Dragon are opposites in a lot of ways, though they can always be very much alike as well. Though children, they have decided to try out adventuring, which means trouble.
{Helen} Helen is like Mia, doll-like, very pretty with only one difference, Helen is a boy! Though a lot would find that hard to believe, with his pretty looks Helen prefers to be a boy, and since the dolls are techically genderless until they develop a gender a boy he is. He's probably going to be a boy.
{Masako} She's a Fury, born out of a vial and looks nothing like the other children. Right now she's an egg or a blob, it depends on who you talk to. Though she can telepathically talk, so she already has a strong sense of right and wrong.
{Salty} Salty is a very colour creature (child), he likes boats and water the best. He doesn't talk much as of now.
{Azalea} Named after a flower, she is the guardian of a nebula and the creature spirit born from an orb.
{Lumina} A reborn soul, she's Kara's little girl who loves to dance and enterain.
{Kyrs} Kara's son, but he's a way too old to be anyone's little boy, he looks after Lumina.
{Kali} Kali is Jin's little sister if that made any sense at all, she's a human who looks like to have an eletricial plug for a tail.
{Miyu} Is actually Jin's niece as odd as it sounds, she's the daughter of Yue and Jaseth.
{Lin} Another Second of the human vareity, she looks an eerily lot like Donovan and Kara.
{Saki} Fluffy Cat of the regular varity, no more information at this point.

Moving from a cafe to an inn... twice, this is the permament home of the Winters family, children, pets (mentioned and not mentioned), and Kara herself. This is where they stay and interact with pretty much anyone. The school that was founded? Here it is, some of the children work, or study here. Though it's much harder to track down anyone in here.

[Damisin]He is the soul child who's guardian is Were-ah, who just happens to be a student at the school Kara teaches at. Jin is kind of scared of Damisin at the moment hopefully that will pass.

:The Beginning: The Calling Feather duster in hand, Marissa scurried across the Gallery's top floor on her her daily cleaning route. She made her way to the Attic door, prepared to dust the oak table and empty gilded frame that lay inside. When she attempted to turn the knob, however, the device stuck fast. It was locked. Uh-oh. She knew what that meant. Slowly, eyes cringed as if she wasn't sure she wanted to see what was before her, she raised her head. On the Attic door, in gold painted script that had most definately not been there yesterday, were the names: Xenostacia Were-Ah Kara Winters Marissa flipped through the phonebook in frustration, looking for the names that were painted on the Attic door. Three new paintings? she thought incredulously. Still, she learned long ago not to question the house's ways, and resignedly called each person, trying her best not to sound insane when she said: "Hello? Yes, my name is Marissa, I'm from the art gallery in north Durem...yes, well, I'm sure this sounds strange, but I'm going to have to ask you to pay us a visit...we, er, have something that belongs to you." That is how it started, with a phonecall, of course what led to the phonecall Kara did not know. All she knew was that a lady claimed something belonged to her. The location was far from home, and the former wanderer wracked her brain to try and figure out if she had been anywhere in the area in the past. But there was no memory of such a place, or such a time where she had been anywhere near this mansion. Still there was no denying it, Kara would have to make a trip, and what an interesting trip it would be. The Birth of Jin Kara stared at the door in front of her, wondering if she should knock. She had gotten the call, but it sounded so dreadfully odd to her. Then again, her life was odd, her children her odd, heck she was called a bit touched in the head on occasion. She knocked, twice, while refraining from knocking a little tune on the wood. Marissa was prepared for the knock and opened with the door. She took a quick breath and smiled. "Welcome," she began, "Come in. My name is Marissa, and this is the Gallery. You must be Kara." "Uhm... yes," Kara bowed slowly as she glanced to the inside, she seemed to feel a bit speechless, she laughed a bit and explained sheepishly, "I'm afraid I'm at a disadvantage here, I've never been here before and yet you know my name... well of course you called, but...." She trailed off for a moment. "May I ask... how you came by my name?" Marissa smiled and ushered the girl into the house. She signaled for the young woman to follow her, placing her hand between Kara's shoulder blades to guide her. "Well, it is not I, specifically, who knows you." They were rounding the corder of the first flight of stairs. Marissa decided to jump to the chase. "It is this place. This house, it lives. It may seem hard to believe, but the gallery breathes, in a sense, just as you and I. More than anything, however, it knows." She was not giving the girl time to respond, as if nervous that she would turn tail and leave. She only spoke on. "It knows you. And it has chosen you for a very special task." She glanced at the woman, sizing her up breifly. She seemed able and kind. Very satisfactory. "In the Attic of this house are kept hundreds of paintings. Within each of these paintings is a Soul. A Painted Soul. And the Attic...has chosen you to care for one." "You're kidding," Kara asked, "Wait... stupid question...." For it indeed it was a stupid question, she of all people should know how not everything is what it seems to be, but to have a house know your name was bordered along the line of... creepy. Indeed she found that very creepy, but then the worrying came as they were nearing... well wherever Marissa was leading her. Kara assumed it was to the attic to where this Painted Soul was, the one she had to look- Her mind froze at that. "Look after? As in... animal or pet or child or...." Her feet were still moving... but her mind was reeling as it sunk in. She was going to be looking *after* something. Dear god her family would never let her hear the end of it if that was the case. Marissa shook her head. "I'm afraid not," she said. "You'll be caring for a child. A very special child, one with a destiny shrouded in mystery. It's up to you to guide it well." There was a bout of silence, and the two women finally reached the top floor. It was flat, wide, and empty, but for a small door at the very end of the hallway. There, Kara would find her name inscribed in gold script, the only of three names that remained: Kara Winters. There was no denying who the Attic wanted to care for the child. "This is as far as I can take you," Marissa explained. "The rest, you must do on your own." She gave the girl a nudge towards the attic door. When Kara entered, she would experience the strangest of phenomenons. The Attic air hummed with excitement. Finally, it's third chosen had arrived. The air grew suddenly warmer, and seemd to sparkle with slmost indistinguishable points of light. Before Kara, on a gilded stand, was a painting- a beautiful painting of three gems, that gleamed from mysterious source. But that painting remained only for an instant, for in the blink of an eye and a flash of gold light, a babe replaced the artwork. A baby boy, with dark skin and eyes like jewels, regal and piercing in his form. He had, rising from his forehead, arms, and chest, were precious gems, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds. Whatever fears she might have had, or worries, they disappeared the moment she looked into those sparkling blue eyes. "He's so cute!" Somehow the initial reaction could have been predicted, though some might say he looked more regal than cute, but to Kara a lot of things were cute. She leaned over and picked him up, tickling his little tummy. "Now what shall I name you? Since there's no name on the painting?" Kara mused, "You... look like one of those paraidse birds... or like a prince! But I think it be kind of mean to call you prince." She mused on this as she lightly brushed one of the gems on his arm. "You're like a treasure brought to life..." her eyes brighten as she was struck by inspiration, "I'll call you Jin, how about that? A treasure!" Now all she had to do was explain to her kids why they now literary had a baby brother.

:Courtyard Interests: Transcribed - From Painted Souls Guild (Compete) The courtyard was lovely, though... she found it strange to not be home, or rather... Kara found it strange that she must spend a good deal of time here at this house. It meant a lot of travelling, seeing as she did not wish to stay in the mansion, but if it was for the well being of the child. She looked down at Jin who was watching her with utmost attention. "Well... this is a learning experience for the both of us," Kara told him, "When was the last time I looked after a baby?" ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah and her small troop trudged their way through the courtyard. Sadiki was being very quiet, glaring at the small tanned baby that lay in her mother's arms. Ever since Damisin had come along. Her mother would not and could not hold her. So the small blond neko was very grumpy at having to walk such a 'long distance'. Were-Ah yawned, not really caring where they were going, just following behind her daughter. Content, but very sleepy.
"I know'a 'er!" Sadiki cried, pointing at Kara. Or what she thought was Kara. Her glasses were slightly smudged, as usual. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Kara was sitting on the ground indian style playing a very one sided version of Patty Cake with Jin. She grinned as she tickled him a bit, but her attention was taken away when she heard Sadiki cry out. She turned her head and much to her surprise Were was there, with her Neko of all people. "Were-Ah," Kara smiled, "What a surprise, or were you called here too?" ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah cocked her head to the side. What was Kara-- oh. Was that a Soul? She chuckled, of course someone like Miss Kara would be called to The Gallery and given a child. She was just that kind of person! "Call'a'ed," she giggled, gesturing Damisin in her arms. She bent down and placed Damisin on the ground and sitting down herself. "Ughhh..."
Damisin fell over onto his back, "Ahhhh!" he cried as he began to kick his small chubby legs in the air. His giggles were expectionally loud for a such small baby.
Sadiki glared once more at her giggling sibling and raced off after a bird or some other woodland animal that she saw. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Kara laughed a bit, "Well, at least I know I'll have someone I know here too, though... I don't know how to explain this to your father," she said in a low voice as she watched Jin looked curiously at Damisin. Jin leaned forward and flopped on his stomach, readhing out to touch one of things hanging from Damisin's arms. Though it was more of an arm patting that didn't quite reach. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ She chuckled, "Well... all'n the mama's I's met'ted 'ere is'n goodly people," she mumbled. Curling up and putting her chin on top of her knees. "Daddy gonna fain' liken he did'na withen Dami," Were-Ah announced as she watched Damisin and Jin.
Damisin rolled over and stared at Jin. And just kept staring, until he seen those shiney on the other boys arms. What were they? The green haired boy's ears began to wiggle about everywhere. He was excited! "Ehhhh!" he cried as he pushed himself up with great difficulty. He then reached for those shineys. But his arms were too short. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "Yes well...." Kara mused on Wer's annoucment, "It's different with you. You're his daughter and his little girl has a child, that would make any father faint. Now... your father should be use to me bringing in children, I'm sure one more wouldn't hurt." It looked like Jin was doing a half crawl (half because his body wasn't even off the ground) towards Damisin, pausing only everyonce in a while to blow his feather tip out of his face.
"Ah?"~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah looked at Kara. She had never thought about it that way, but why hadn't Tracy fainted about Sadiki. It seemed that everyone was so much more surprised about Dami then anyone else. Oh yea'...! she thought, she had something to ask Kara. But she had been hoping to ask in a private place. Not a place like this... She bit her lip, she would wait a bit. Maybe... "Uh-huh, ya prolly righ' Miss Kara," she agreed finally.
Damisin's retro pink eyes widened considerably, Jin's blue feather. He wanted to touch it. He wanted to touch it and chew on it so much more than the pretty jewels that were all along Jin's arms. "Ahhhh!" Dami yelled, his voice happy and jubilent. He was on a misson, so he was crawling [all the way up] towards Jin. His ears wiggling even harder now. "Eeehh!" ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Kara chuckled, "After all there are girls out there that don't show any sign that they are ready to bare children," she thought as this as amusing. Thankfully none of her children thought she actually had Jin, though she wondered really how Tracy would react. It almost seemed to her a source of amusement. She really needed to get out more if she thought introducing Tracy to her children as amusing. "Nah?" Jin didn't know what Damisn was doing, however Jin was starting to look very worried.
He didn't like where this was going, in truth she was wiggling away from Damisn, forget the funny things on his arms!~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Damisin did not notice that the other was trying to wriggle away. His attention was on that blue feather. It was so... tempting. He giggled again as he reached out, but falling on his chin. The green haired boy, blinked. He was confused as to what had happened. But he got back up on his hands and knees. Then started forward once again. "Eeeeee!" he giggled, coming closer.
"Yeah..." Were-Ah was a little confused at that. But she shrugged it off, mentally. She bit her lip again then gathered up the slight couarge that she need "Miss Kara, if'n... some'un like'ed ya, but ya didn'a liken'um back'a... wha' would'a ya d'?" she inwardly cringed. That sounded awful! And Were-Ah kind of wondered if this might not have been the best place to ask. And she should have planned this out a little bit better... but it had just popped out! But what else was she too do? The one time that she had brought this up with her father, he would go out and try to beat the crap out of the problem. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Jin tried to hide-tail and run, if he could run that is, instead he turned over and pretty much fell over his own two feet... and his own two hands as well.
"Ah!!!"
Jin thought that Damisin was so scary! Look at his teeth! Maybe the other baby wanted to eat him."Ah...." Kara thought about that for a minute, it was not her place to ask which boy Were was referring to. Knowing her, she probably didn't know the boy neither. "Well it depends on the situtation," Kara replied, "If that person was a friend and you'd prefer to stay friends, that is an easy tell all, if it's just the fact you're not interested at all in a relationship with him or with anyone for that matter...." she looked at Were thoughtfully, "Explain you do not wish to purse a relationship, you just simply don't feel that kind of need. It's probably the hardest thing to be honest about that, but it's the only thing you can do." ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Damisin still did not take any notice of the other child's attempts at retreat. He was almost withen pulling... er touching distance now. He giggled again, trying to get all the more closer. The tanned fingers reached out for that lone blue feather that protruded, in his mind, out of the other child's skull. "Ooooo..."
Were-Ah nodded, her face contorted into a 'I must fight!' kind of face. She would use that for both of the boys that had fought in her bedroom last night. She also wondered whether or not she should have told someone that Gael was at her house. Though she was wondering how he got into the home. Her mother had changed the locks on all of the doors and windows after the incident at the school-- "'Kay! Thank'a's ya Miss Kara!" Were-Ah said a giant grin. She then turned attention to the now distressed Jin and the entranced Damisin. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "Oh dear...." Kara mused as it looked like Jin was on the verge of crying because Damisin looked scary and when she thought about it, she wouldn't want anyone to touch her feather if it was attached to her head. Jin was huddling next to Kara wanting her to pick him up. This guy was freaky. At least in Jin's mind.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah saw that Jin looked to be in great distress and she giggled. She could see what made the boy so frightened. She placed her hand ontop of Damisin's head, stroking it softly. The baby slowy sank down to the ground.
Damisin cooed and gurgled as his mother ran her calloused fingers through his green hair. Tickling softly at his long and elf-like ears... He was laying down flat on his stomach, backward spread eagle. It looked rather painful but he seemed to be fine. "Ahhh... ehhhoo..." ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "There's nothing to be afraid of," Kara chuckled ruffling Jin's hair a bit, "I'm sure he's just as curious of you as you are of him." She didn't know why she bothered telling this to Jin, he was so little he probably wouldn't understand, or remember for that matter, but it seemed right. She picked him up and set him down beside Damisin. Jin looked at Kara with wide eyes as if to ask what was she thinking. Of course Damisin didn't look scary now, what with Were making him occupied.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah continued to stroking Damisin's hair. But he was paying a lazy amount of attention to Jin now. But not enough that he would get out of his comfortable postion and away from the storking. "Ehhhh!" Damisin murmured, touching Jin's small blue shoe. What was that? ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Jin flinched unsure about this... person who was touching him and his stones. Granted it didn't hurt, actually it didn't feel like much of anything really. If it weren't for the fact he was seeing it, he probably wouldn't have known.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Damisin continued to touch the small stones on Jin's arms, then trying to gentely take off bottom jewel that was located on his stomach. The dangling leaf like things [Were had never discovered excatly they were] on his arms blew softly in the wind. "Daaa?" Damisin seemed to question when the jewel would not come off. But he quickly seemed to forget and try again. This time a bit more roughly. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "Wah!" Jin cried out backing away from Damisin so suddenly that he fell on his back, he cried and curled up close to Kara.
He could feel his skin being lifted, tugged and pulled, it hurt and he thought that Damisin was going to rip his skin out. He shivered more out of fright than anything else."None of that now," Kara gently tapped Damisin's hand, "That hurts him, just like tugging on these," she gently brushed against the leaves on his arm, "would hurt you." ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah sat back a little and flushed a light red, embarressed that she had not realized that Damisin might have been hurting Jin. A soft snicker came up from the little blonde neko that had seated herself behind a tree.
Damisin looked at his hand and then up at Kara, to his hand, and to his mother. Who had stopped her stroking. He knew now that he should not do that. But he quickly was entranced by a bug that was crawling in front of him. "Baaaa!" he cried as he shoved himself up into his hands and knees. Then chased after the said insect. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "No need to flush," Kara smiled, "I'm sure Jin would have gone for the leaves if he hadn't been too scared. Babies... like dangling things, and things that shine." Jin peeked over Kara's knees to watch Damisin chase the bug. As if Damisin was some kind of animal that he had to be wary of. It was an interesting bug, but Jin was more interested in the bugs that looked pretty or shiny....
Though what he considered pretty was up to interpretation.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah smiled, though she still felt bad. But she knew that those kinds of things always came in time. "Yea' ya righ'," Were-Ah said with a small chuckle. Out of the corner of her eye she watched as Damisin chased the bug. Or more like tower over it.
Damisin was growing confused, the bug was now just staying there. But then it would somehow get over somewhere else. But then when he would look back, there it was again! What was going on? He grabbed the black insect in his chubby palm and looked over at where it kept going to. There it was again! What? He opened up his palm and stared. There was the bug... and there was the bug?! Damisin had not learned the concept of more than one yet it seemed... ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "You don't think he's going to try and stuff those bugs in his mouth?" Kara asked pointing to Damisin while rubbing Jin on the back to calm him down. In fact he was in the middle of a lot of bugs worried her, babies also had a habit of stuffing things in their mouths. She herself had to pry her jewerlly out of Jin's mouth on a number of occasions. "So... how are you adjusting to motherhood?" Jin looked around bored, he had no interest in bugs and now that the scary baby was gone he didn't have anything to do. He couldn't understand that his mother was saying so the topic held of little interest to him.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah shook her head, "He know'a nott'a t', Ki's down'ed that'a fav'a," she said cringing. She did not know how Damisin had not cried after Sadiki had punched him like that. Though she had not been there herself, from what she had heard and seen in the aftermath. "I's learnin'. Slow'y... I ain't 'eal cut'ted out'a fer rasin' babi'as," she said with a sad chuckle.
Damisin frowned then threw placed the bug... more like smashing it down on the ground and making his way back towards his mother. Or what he thought was his mother. He followed the sound of her voice, not understanding anything that she said. Which was normal. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "This is your first real baby Were," Kara chuckled, "You know most people have nine months to adjust to the idea, not on a sudden basis like these two. And no one is ever ready.... you'll get the hang of it," Kara admitted with a sheepish smile, "I haven't looked after a baby in a long while it's hard to adjust. In truth all the children you see started out as children, not as babes." Which was true, and so Kara had to go and babyproof the inn soon, which was just as well since Krysis broke his leg on the stairs. Triton was still feeling bad about that. Jin's eyes widen as he watched Damisin come back to where they were. The babe hid behind Kara trying to make sure the other baby couldn't see him.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah blinked, she knew that that was the case. But she could not grasp all of it around herself. So she tried not to think about it too much, "Yeah... I 'ope ya righ'," Were-Ah said with a small grin.
Damisin watched as the brown and red blur moved away from the sound of his mother's voice. But he did not seem to care about anything but getting back to his mother. Until his little body just seemed to give out. He trembled for a moment then flopped down on the ground. Withen Were's grabbing distance. Which she did and pulled him into her lap. Cooing and stroking his hair. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Kara nodded as she chuckled a bit picking Jin up and putting him on her own lap so he could see Danisim, "It's quite a pity Jin is scared of him, but I think after a time they'll get use to each other. At least I hope so anyhow." Jin simple cuddled close to Kara as if wanting to know he'll be held and protected.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ "Aye, Dami grow'ers on'n ya," Were-Ah said with an affectionate laugh. Smiling down sweetly at Damisin, who was pulling at her shirt softly. His body was tired, but his mind was still speeding along. He began to squirm around in her arms. Were-Ah twisted him around almost expertly and he immeditaly stopped his wriggling. "Ooooh!" he mumbled and pointed hand at Kara, not noticing Jin this time. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Kara chuckled a bit, "Ah well.... perhaps next time they'll get along better. It's just right now they're so strange looking to the other really. Isn't that right Jin? Damisin isn't that bad right?" Jin cuddled against Kara's chest, eyeing Dami warily.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Damisin waved at Jin and Kara with both hands. He was complety obilvent to the other babies fear, which was not really all that surprising. He giggled then began to pull at his mother's shorts. Easily forgetting everything else.
Were-Ah nodded, that was true. Maybe next time they could be friends! That would be really sweet and cute. "Hm..." she murmured as she glanced over at the sulking and almost forgotten Neko.
Sadiki was still sulking and pouting under the tree. Making flower and grass chains in her aggarvation. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Kara chuckled a bit as she too glanced at Sadiki, she leaned over to whisper, "And.... find a babysitter for Damisin so you can spend time with Sadiki and time for yourself. You'll drive yourself mad otherwise." She got up from the ground, grabbing a cloth that was beside her as she swattled Jin to her chest. "Best be going, otherwise the others will wonder where I am." ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Were-Ah blinked, that was a great idea! Why had not she thought it!? She smiled up at Kara, "'Kay, seeya lat'a Miss Kara," she said, giving a little wave. In truth she had to get back to her home aswell. It was close to Damisin's feeding time. And she was pretty sure that Sadiki was hungry aswell... she wondered what Nalik would cook tonight! ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Kara gives a small bow, "Then until next time Were-Ah!" She walked off, after all it was a long travel back home.

:Baby To Love & Keep: Jin's Arrival (A Story) When it was first annouced to the permament residents of the Wandering Bloom Inn via letter carrier that they would be getting a new baby brother no one was surprised. After all, in a family of nearly ten children, there was nothing unusual about the fact they would get another sibling. When they heard that their mother had actually been called not from her travels, but from their own home to collect the child, they were mildly surprised. It was unusual, because no one ever sought their mother out to take in a child, normally she just found them like one would find stones along a path or seashells along a beach. However when Kara Winters, the mother of nearly ten children and many pets arrived at the door to her home with a proverbial bundle of joy in her arms, well.... They were just shocked. For never before had the Winters family ever experienced the joys (and downfalls) of having an actual baby in the household. Sure, there were many who could have claimed to be born within the inn, Cinderella Winters was born from a feather on the first night the inn opened, and Trisha Winters, along with her three brothers and one sister were all born from vases. However, Cinderella was born a child, one that could learn quickly and think for herself. Trisha and the others were born as little people, who were like babies in terms of the fact they were small and dependent, but they also had the ability to fend for themselves. So when Kara showed up with a squirming, helpless baby, who could barely crawl and not even talk the others were speechless. They had simply never had a child like this enter their lives before, they have heard of babies. It was hard not to, since some theorized that one day Kara might want a baby by the powers that whatever creator created her had given her. Still no one expected this, and everyone was at a lost of what to do. When they first asked how one looked to take care of such a child, Kara just smiled. "Simple, is to feed them, clothe them, play with them, change them and keep them safe," she replied, "Just like I do with all of you, except the changing part," she added that with a giggle. She glowed under the spotlight of this new child, Yukito, the younger of the two Second twin angels commented, that she was like that because it was as if she really had a child herself. Yue, the eldest of the two twins, though it was because it had been a while since she looked after a real baby. Cinderella though, thought it was because their mother really in a way wanted to become the mother that gave birth and raised the child. To a point, everyone agreed wtih Cindy. Still, it was an adjustment no one was truly ready for, even though most were grown enough to do their own activities. It was an odd sight to see Kara always wearing a sling around her chest, even stranger now that the linen closet was filled with diapers or the smell of baby powder coming from Kara's room. Still, Jin was their baby brother, and they would adapt, it'll just be interesting to see the mishaps of that adjustment.

biggrin ada!: Jin's First World (A Story) They should have seen it coming, after all how could they not with all the time Donovan spent with Jin when she wasn't around. Still, where did he hear such a word? Did they want to know? It was so hard to know how much babies knew these days. Donovan, for those that did not know was well... he was many things. The tall asian man had been originally Kara's assistant, offering to help Kara with all the tasks to help her run the school more smoothly which included actually looking after her children, which is how seeing a man in a business suit with a baby carrier became a normal sight. They fell in love, and while lover wouldn't be correct because it implied other matters which little children did not know of, he was however someone who loved her. Perhaps lover was accurate enough then. Whoever, and whatever Donovan was to the Winters family though there was one thing clear... Donovan had been obviously spending way too much time with the kids. Not that it was a bad thing. It all started on a relatively sunny day, so there were large rays of light coming through the huge glass windows belonging to the sunroom of the inn. Kara sat on the floor, leaning against Donovan who was checking the daily account balances as she played with Jin and his toy blocks. The game was a simple one, Kara would build up a small block tower and Jin would knock them all down for her to build them up again. Sometimes he would gnaw on a block, he was teething as far as the two of them could tell. After it seemed like Jin was going to viciously gnaw on one of his red blocks Donovan finally set his clipboard aside to take the block from Jin before he gained spliters or something. "Stop that, don't you have a teething ring?" Donovan stated to the little baby. Donovan was never one to actually do baby talk to Jin, he thought it was an insult to a baby's intelligence. The others thought he was just too prideful to give Jin baby talk. Jin stared at his empty hands before looking up at Donovan. He had forgotten during his little game that the man was there. Pouting cutely he frailedh is little cubby arms up into the air as if he wanted to be picked up. "Dada!" Donovan and Kara froze looking at the little baby that managed to say something other than a gah or a groan. Kara looked at Kara with a smirk on her face, in which Donovan tried to shrug off. "Dada?" she asked Donovan. "It doesn't mean anything, he was probably referring to the block." Jin lurched forward and with both arms out latched onto Donovan's leg. He giggled wildly because Donovan always let him crawl all over him which was a lot of fun. Since it was like climbing a hill or something like that. "Dada!" "I think he meant you," Kara pointed out with a giggle. Donovan twitched, "Since when did I become a 'dada'?" Kara smiled a bit, "When you decided to stay." Donovan was not about to argue with that, he was not one to shirk from responsbility. As he picked Jin up and let the boy sit on his lap, he wondered what it was going to be like to have him call you 'dada' for the rest of your life. Jin looked up at Donovan, "Dada." "I get the point," Donovan grumbled a bit though he wasn't really that upset with the idea. Kara giggled some more using Donovan's shoulder a pillow. They would have made a cosy sight had anyone seen them. A tall serious looking asian man with glasses having a bouncy baby boy on his lap giggling as he called the man 'dada', with a young short haired angel leaning against him. It was like a family out of a picture.

:The Little Giant: An Everyday With Jin (Story) Tall towers of wood spanned upwards from the gleaming hardwood ground. The bright paint stood out against the side of the towers, and all seemed peaceful in the wooden city of a child’s imagination. There it stood, a city of wood, gleaming in the sun unaware of the dark cloud coming ahead. Shadows stretched from the ground covering the city in darkness as the light is blotched out from the sky. The towers rattled softly on their bases as the nemesis to the wooden city came near. Without warning a dark limb fell in the middle of the city, knocking floors off the towers sending the buildings crumbling to the ground. A giant hand reached out to take one of the fallen debris, lifting it up to the sky as a mouth opened wide… Jin Winters bit hard, if not violently upon the wooden block that had been stacked up for him to knock down. Kara had to flinch a bit as she watched her son gnaw on the wooden block like a rodent would in a way. If he had actually had his teeth in, there would be bite marks on that wood for sure. Leaning forward, Kara tried to pry the poor block from Jin’s grip and mouth. Though, Jin had a strong grip for a little baby; she tried to use her own fingers to keep Jin’s fingers off the block. It was only when a callused hand pulled the block out of the baby’s hands did the little baby stop. He looked up at the figure who took his chewing toy away with a pout. The receiver of that pout was a tall Asian man, light reflected off his glasses as he tossed the block up and down in his hand, catching it without looking. Donovan raised his brow at the little baby who seemed quite unhappy to have the block taken away. He swore one day that Jin was going to have spinsters in his mouth if the babe kept it up. “Kid, if you want to eat, eat food,” Donovan told the kid as he tossed the block to Kara. Kara caught the block with both hands, clutching it close to her as she watched in bemusement as Donovan reached down to pick up her son… their son. She chuckled a bit listening to Donovan telling Jin he should be eating food as she cleaned up the ruins of the wooden city. Perhaps, she thought, Donovan could get the little giant to stop chewing on the blocks.
