Coming from the Keth family means that Declan has extremely big shoes to fill, seeing as how his eldest cousin, Vilden, gets all the praise and attention from even Declan's side of the family.
However, expectations for Declan are high, considering he shows many of the same abilities his cousin did at his age. His parents urged him to consider the Program, and he did so, albeit slightly relucantly.
Declan tends to dislike authority, and has been known to have a rebellious streak in him.
