That sounds really hilarious. I'd like to see that. xD

Yeah, it's ridiculous how immature they are. : Though, luckily none of my classes have those sort of people in there. Or at least not what I can tell. But in highschool it was just awful. People were so disrespectful and acted like 13 year olds. Earth and Space? Is that like Astronomy? Since I'm in that class right now. xD

Yeah, I can sound kind of like a d**k when I point out things too. I feel like one too, but if something is /wrong/ then I feel it's more helpful if it's pointed out than left out. And yeah, a balanced critique is a good one. I don't like sugarcoating, and I don't expect people to sugarcoat my critiques, but it is nice to know what you did right, so you don't change it, right?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I generally don't give out critiques unless people ask, though because sometimes people just want to do something for fun and not for critiques, you know? If you ever need some critique just ask. :3 And a lot of the critiquing places on the internet are full of trolls. :C Like DeviantART. There's some good crits out there, but most of them are like "lol go kill urself" or "oh this is kawaii". >>;

One of my friends asked for a critique on their work there and everyone was like "Oh it's perfect!" and I found some issues with it, so I pointed them out kindly, and I felt like such a d**k. xD And the reply I got was like "it's my style". Which isn't always true because sometimes there's a lack of knowledge in what you're doing where it's obvious, and can't be covered up with the excuse of "style". I know I have that issue with anatomy, and arguing with everyone that it's their style isn't really... a good choice...? idk. Sorry for my word vomit. xD

Yeaaah. I'd probably get my a** kicked if anyone actually knew what I was saying.

It's like basic science like planets and geography. I heard it was terrible.
So glad I didn't have to take it.

Lol. I haven't been on DA in a while, but I never really talked to anyone but a few other writers, and they were nice critics with balance. c:

OH GOD. NOT THAT RESPONSE. "It's my style."
It looks wrong because something is wrong. The brain is a wonderful tool at noticing anomalies. We're trained to spot patterns, so things that stick out, just look ******** wrong. Everyone has their own sense of aesthetics, and even beauty is a strange concept, but if it looks wrong, it feels wrong.
WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
IT'S NOT STYLE. sdFKdkfjldfskjdf
Anyways, everything can be improved. If it can't, then you never really cared. =w=

But there's a chance the person who understands you is a part of like the mexican mafia and has you join his famalia and you get a fedora and a machine gun and one of those nice 1940's cars. :333 I saw the Gangster Squad trailer I'm sorry

Oh, that sounds pretty boring. D:

Yeah, the writers are a lot more grounded than the artists (most of them) on DeviantART it seems. I dunno, a lot of the people I've met on DA just seemed... full of it... >>; Or fame-hungry. Which is silly.

I KNOW RIGHT? I HATE it when people cover up their lack of knowledge with "it's just my style!" No. NO. It might be "your style", but there are things style doesn't cover up. Styles STILL follow basic anatomical logic. Artists who are good at anatomy are then able to manipulate it to stretch the logic of anatomy, but at the same time keep it correct and believable, and then that is what allows the person to see the art as just a style. But if something is WRONG WRONG, then it's WRONG. People should never try to hide behind a style to avoid criticism. They're trying to HELP. When I get crit on my anatomy, I don't say "it's my style". Maybe for like, the eyes, yeah, I draw anime big a** eyeballs, but if the eyes are too far down, arms are too long, or a joint is out of place, that's on me and my lack of knowledge. I used to HATE getting crit because it hurt my feelings, since then I've learned to grow up and take it, because in the end, it's help to improve and that's never a bad thing.

I wish people would realize there's a difference between constructive criticism and "ur art sucks u suck anime suks ur face bad". I mean really. >>; And I totally agree. If someone isn't willing to take any sort of criticism because their delicate feelers/ego might get hurt, then they obviously aren't too invested. Yeah, criticism can hurt, I would know. I'm kind of an introverted person so putting my art up for everyone to see and pick at is /scary/ for me, even when putting it on tumblr, but in the end, the suggestions I get are helpful, and I appreciate them, even if I'm shaking by the end of it. I think it's mainly because I don't do well with people staring at /me/. xD People should know that 99.9% of art teachers/students aren't out to get you. They might be harsh, yeah, but maybe that's just them. Go with the flow man.

Yeah. 'Cause the drug cartel totally dresses up in zoot suits and smuggles liquor.

Man.. Just looked up my DA. Holy crap. I USED TO DRAW LIKE THAT???
WOW. LITTLE MORE THAN A YEAR, AND I'M ALREADY ASHAMED OF HALF THE s**t IN HERE. XD
OH MAN. I WONDER HOW I DREW A FEW YEARS BACK THEN.

Oh man. I feel you. Whenever I finish doodling something, I start writing my own critique on it. Shoulders and necks are what I mess up so much. That and really long torsos. It's like I could be working for CLAMP. XD
If you're drawing big a** anime eyes, I sometimes try spacing them farther apart and having a slightly shorter face.

Is it strange that I stopped caring if people see me draw or write? XD
Like I'm doing it so often during class, that no one really minds me anymore.
And when someone does, I kinda sass a bit.
I think two years ago? I was drawing like just the basic body for a woman, and a classmate next to me asks why I keep on drawing naked people. I told him I haven't started on the clothes yet, then he asks why I don't draw the clothes first. So I just stared at him, then actually start drawing more details of a nude woman. Then he raises his hand and calls out to the class and teacher that I was drawing porno. rofl
Another time, a few weeks ago, I was just doodling heads, and the girl who I kinda talk with during class asks me why I only draw pretty people. So I started drawing like old people, weird people, and so on. Just 'cause I thought it was a good challenge and good point. Then she said that they're too ugly. But the thing is, I love drawing 'ugly' people.

Another thing that bugs me is that most art teachers think that anime in itself is such a limited style, and that it all looks the same. There are so many types of anime styles out there, it's ridiculous to think that they're all the same. Closed mindedness like that drives me crazy.

Ooooh! That tutorial looks handy XD Hope it's compatible with the photoshop I use.

Hey, you could be making millions with just a few spanish words. ;DDD

LOL. Dude that's why I keep most of my old a** art on DA. I love laughing at it. xD But that just means you've improved since then. :3

Yeah. I have a hard time with jaws, noses, shoulders, necks, hips and feet. xD That is basically everything... But the fact that the drawer notices something wrong, then they can work on making it not wrong, which is good. :3

&& Yeah, I try to follow the rule that eyes are one eyeball width apart, even with my animu eyeballs, so they don't look... well... more alien than usual. ;w;

LOL wow that kid. Mature, real mature. People have asked me why I draw naked men, and it's like... there's no p***s. There's no nipples. It's just a base? People draw the figure first before going into the clothes? So the anatomy doesn't get wonky? xD Sheesh.

&& Ah, people are never happy, but yeah, that is a good point. Drawing ugly/old people is hard. ;3; All those wrinkles and disfigurements. I need to work on those types of faces. It's sad that I basically draw pretty people or like... horribly disfigured people with their jaws ripped off and s**t... >>;

Oh, speaking of anime desu: This is blinding man

LOL

RoxyChick2003

Yeah that bothers me too. Sure, some anime styles look the same, but there is a diversity within anime. Sailor Moon and Cyborg 009 look nothing alike. Same with Studio Ghibli's work. And Zombie Loan, and even Bleach and Naruto have their own styles. It's easy to think they all look the same, but a lot of the professional artists have very different styles.

Millions? Man, what're you talking about?
They made HUNDREDS back in the day.

Oh.. Yeah, I never really paid attention to the one eye thing.
I just put it where I think is good. XD

Everyone thinks he's.. Well there's something wrong in his head, and we've been trying to figure that out for at least four years.
Lol. Trying to explain to non-artists why you don't draw the clothes first? Good luck.
Oh man. I love drawing wrinkles on people, which is why I like drawing older people whenever I'm sketching with a pen or pencil.
Just look at peoples' faces when they make strange expressions and they way the face stretches and wrinkles. After a while, you can get a general idea where creases go for most expressions. And just add more to make people look older.

THIS IS THE FUTURE, MAN. LIVE IT LOVE IT.

xDD I try to. Though most of the time I just guess. Pfft. As long as it looks right, right?

Yep...
People already know I have problems, so they've just stopped questioning my social unacceptableness. xD && Yeah, true. They'd just give a weird look, shake their head and walk away mumbling.

Yeah. That makes sense. Whenever I try to add wrinkles on a person, they either look like they're dying, or they're obscenely old. Like Inception old. xD It's horrible.

&& ******** YEAH, DESU.

Man. We're talking prohibition age gangsters and you're talking about MILLIONS?

Like really? I have enough guide lines everywhere. I don't need another one for the face especially. lol

Pft. Rejecting society is one of the first steps in the hero's journey.
To become something beyond the field of opposites, to transcends yin and yang, we have to reject what we were given, and form our own thoughts and wants.

Yeah. I usually just draw a line for the middle of the face and maybe one for the eyes if I haven't already drawn them. XD
