There was something about the wind in his hair, and the water spray on his face which felt so..right to him. Maybe he would speak with San about buying a ship. Course that would need a large amount of money, but still, goals for the future. Though despite his side thoughts he kept his attention focused upon the task at hand. Tilting his ankles to maneuver the block of ice he took a couple of laps around the lake before returning to the shore and Asena.
Once he was close to the shoreline he slid off the makeshift surfboard and walked through the water until the board met the ground,"That was fun. Your turn Asena." He honestly was having fun. It was a good break from the normal combat, training, education, missions, life.

The ride through the lake was exhilarating to say the least! Even if it wasn't as fast as some form of transportation, Emiko was still having the time of her life riding on the waves. She laughed wholeheartedly while hanging onto Kairi. They made a couple trips round the lake with Emi waving back to Asena and having the time of her life. When it came time to return to shore, Emiko stepped back onto land and promptly fell over while laughing up a storm. "That was so cool, Kairi! Asena! You have to hold your hands out! It's like you're running on the lake water." Her eyes spoke chapters of her happiness at the moment. It would be one of the more fond memories she would have in her mind. No shinobi duties or pressing matters to tend to. Just goofing off and having a great time with her fellow ninja. She remained on the ground for quite some time while waiting for Asena to hop aboard so that she could cheer for her.
"I'll be sure to give it a whirl Emiko" Asena excitedly said. With that she stepped onto the ice with a bit of an unsure wobbly before finding her footing. There wasn't much else to be said as for the most part, San cared not for a ride around the lake. Ultimately this was just about observing them. Putting her arms out almost like wings she looked to Kairi, "Ready, set les go!"

Despite the amount of fun he was having, this arms were getting pretty tired, plus he was using chakra far more often than he normally did. But, he would finish his little surf party. Once Asena was onboard and ready he would slid to the rear of the surfboard and kick with his legs to get them going. Hopping up quickly, he yet again, formed the seals on each hand and released bursts of air from his palms to propel them. Though he did decide to have a bit of fun, pushing down with his toes to turn them to the right, he then rocked the board back to the left to cause it to hop up just a bit, on the wave he had just created by the sudden shift in direction. Though before long he had finished the lap and small hops and returned to the shoreline, once again sliding off and pushing the makeshift surfboard into the sand.
Though it seemed he had, had his fill of fun in this manner,"Hey real quick, by chance, have either of you seen Lady San? Need to have a word with her at some point." He wanted to ask her about what he should be doing now. While granted he was a gennin third class, he was also one of, if not the, oldest shinobi in the village. He would need to find something to occupy him outside of just training.
Returning the favor that Asena had done for her, Emiko cheered and waved at the two as the rocketed across the lake. She was tempted to ask for a second pass but there was the possibility that Kairi would be exhausted after doing the same trick three times now. A fourth repetition might just cause him to pass out. She still wanted to go though. "Maybe I should wait to see how Kairi feels. He must be super tired." Emi pondered and stood by as they approached the shore again. She waved them down and cheered as Asena stepped back onto solid land once again. Kairi looked pretty empty of any energy to spare. Although Emi opened her mouth to speak, she shut it and decided against pushing her luck.
"See? Told ya it was fun!" Emi smiled at the fellow Uzimaki and turned to Kairi. He asked of the whereabouts of Lady San, the Uzukage like a simple genin could help. She could barely keep track of her academy homework. "Not really. I haven't seen her since I graduated a long time ago. Sorry, Kairi." She shrugged at the two before looking down at her feet and going to put her socks and shoes back on.
The rush of wind in her hair felt nice, the ride itself was pretty relaxing, save for when Kairi decided to try and do a little jump. San needed to lock her self to the board for the briefest of seconds lest she slip of and fall in to the water. Every time they circled past Emiko she'd wave back and play up her enjoyment for the girl. Soon enough the ride came to an end and they were back on land. "Yeah it really was," she said with a smile. It was then that Kairi asked his question. The answer of course was that she was right in front of him. However San didn't want to expose her disguise at the moment so she offered a fair suggestion. "Have you tried her office mister Kairi?" Obviously the real San wasn't there but more than likely a shadow clone would be.

Wading out of the water Kairi listened to both of the girls and sighed a bit when neither of them knew her whereabouts. He had a feeling neither of them would but still figured he would ask. Taking a seat next to his gear he set about massaging his forearms before replying simply,"I would rather not go to the office if I can avoid it. I ..dislike that place. Too many high ranking people and it makes me uncomfortable." It might have been too much to share but it was the truth. He really did not like that place. Leaning back he relaxed against the ground and let the sun dry him. He had to admit it felt great after having fun in the water. Now all he needed was a beer and it would be all good.

Emi was still so wired from her dash across the lake! It felt like every hair on her head was alive! Her eyes moved to Asena and she laughed. "We should do that again. Or maybe at least hang out!" Kairi spoke up about wanting to find the Uzukage again as Asena answered. It was a good starting point when trying to find any kage really. Emiko didn't say anything though. She didn't want to seem like the kind of person to be snappy with anyone. That last comment about being nervous when inside the office. While that fear did seem somewhat odd, she could understand where he was coming from. There was a lot of high ranks in the office at any given time. Even a plate from them was enough to give Emiko shivers.
"Well look at it this way! You're kinda not worth their time. They probably won't even notice you!" She smiled in a vain attempt to get Kairi to feel a little better. After a few seconds of silence, Emi gave him a sorrowful look and moved a little closer. "I didn't mean it...like that. I bet you're super strong, Kairi! If you want, I can do with you." The academy student offered. She needed a good way to get out of practicing her techniques again. Taijutsu and her clan techniques had always given her trouble. She mainly wanted to get away from her classmates. Everyone seemed better at their assignments than she was. It took so much for her to work with a simple ninjutsu. The thought of it made her insecurity show, a frown painting itself on her face. It vanished as soon as it appeared while she looked at the two again.
"But yeah! Lemme know if you want me to tag along!"
"I'd love to hang out sometime, I'll just have to ask my parents if it's okay." she replied to Emiko. It felt strange to say such a thing while being a grown a** woman. But she was in character after all. Plus in some ways she was beginning to get the sense that she could help Emiko more this way than as the Uzukage. She seemed to respond well to someone of similar peerage and by the sounds of it she could certainly use some help in learning the techniques of the clan. San would need some time to master them herself but then she would be able to pass on her knowledge to the girl.
Hearing that Kairi was uncomfortable with the office would have made San's brow raise if she wasn't pretending to the be Asena. His discomfort was something that her god commanded be overcome and she wished to do something about it. However proselytizing was Kya's domain, while San's was simply being an example. Beyond that, now was not the time to chastise him for such a silly roadblock. Despite being deep in thought when Emiko spoke up and said that he wasn't worth their time, San couldn't help but laugh at both of their expenses. "Ouch sick burn" she managed to mumble between her laughing. Finally her laughter came to an end as she looked back and forth between the two of them. "If you two are gonna look for the kage I think I'm gonna go find something fun to do. Emiko, let's meet up again sometime kay?"

The unintentional burn, actually elicited a chuckle from the man. In a sense she wasn't wrong though. He was just a gennin at the end of the day. An exceptionally experienced one, but still a gennin. Easy enough to replace should the need arise. Giving the girl a light wave he nodded,"Yea lets do this again some time. I had fun. But for now I may as well go to the tower. I dont like it but, better to handle it sooner rather than later." With that simple statement he finished donning his gear and rose to his feet. Brushing himself off he nodded simply to Asena,"It was good to meet you kid. See ya around." Facing Emiko he nodded again,"You as well, but for now, I am sure you have training to attend to. After all, tis the life of a Gennin." Bending at the waist he took up his spear and headed out with a contented expression. While to some, this whole thing would have been a giant waist of time, he thought of it as therapeutic for the soul.
The prospect of seeing these two again filled Emiko with a little more hope than normal. The two made for a nice distraction and even better playmates. She cheerfully smiled as Kairi declined her offer to go along to the kage's office with him. Maybe her words had touched heart with him and he realized his fear was just silly. It also could have pissed him off to the point of not wanting anything to do with her. It would be sad to part ways but she could sit idle no longer. There were lessons to be done and people to be embarrassed about her abilities from. "Okay. See you later..." Emiko waved to Kairi as he walked off in search of the kage while the two kids (or kid and pre-teen) continued to bid each other farewell.
"Sounds good! I'll see you later, Asena! It was nice meeting you!" Emiko grinned and waved the fellow Uzimaki clan member off. She walked back on the main path and followed behind Kairi's direction. What had happened here had left a mark on the young student. It felt nice having fun with people who didn't try to attack her abilities. She even met another child of her clan. Her head was lifted higher than normal, the sorrowful look replaced by one more fitting of a child her age. Emiko looked forward to their next meeting. Until Asena was a blip on the horizon, Emi heard the sounds of the city nearby call back for her to return. That was...fun. Maybe Asena and Kairi could play some more soon.
Jun had definitely put off training for much longer than was ever necessary. It was her seventh trip to the bathroom today during class and she stood alone, leaning against a wall looking in to the mirror across the room. Her teacher had long since become exasperated with her multiple requests to relieve her bladder and threatened to tie her to a chair if she couldn't settle after this. So she changed herself. Jun watched herself speak a single soundless word and turned herself in to some rando in the background of her life. This time no one paid her any mind as Ms. Unassuming Generic Lady made her way out of the academy, and to the lake.
Jun loved it here, it was peaceful and really pretty. She knew that naturally water didn't take on that hue and someone had once explained to her why the lake here had turned that color. It didn't really matter to her though, it was enough that it just was. Didn't need a reason why to enjoy the scenery. The girl sat quietly, shoes off next to her as her feet swirled in the water. The transformation dropped then, when she spotted herself in the water. Half-lidded blue eyes gazed back to her, quivering in the gentle waves she made with her legs. Jun looked a bit unkempt today, her orange hair in a wild array atop her head. She smiled at herself and stirred the waters again, turning her reflection in to a mass of colors. The academy could be so stifling at times. Their expectations were very high and the training too stiff and formal. Maybe if they came out to places like these Jun would feel motivated. That thought circled her head a few times. They barely tried with her these days, a bit of patience and humoring could go a long way. Or was it that Jun had to actually try?
It took a few minutes of relaxation before Jun came to the conclusion that she should actually give it a go every now and then. So she thought back to the "six basic techniques that any ninja could do, even ones who daydream in class all day" like her teacher said. The transformation one she had been sitting on for awhile now. The concept was fairly simple and it had been easy to do. Hopefully the rest were as simple. The Illusion Clone was next on the agenda. This had to be the first ability that Jun was able to easily make sense of. It was so straightforward. By creating a veil of her own energy she could craft a false image of herself or of anything really. It was illusory, practically a hallucination. At first glance it would seem to be the real deal. "Another me." Jun spoke her vision in to this reality, and so it became to be.

Jun was on a success hype train, actually enthused to continue learning more of the abilities she had spent countless hours reading drab material about. Her hazy eyes scanned the area, looking for something with her general parameters. She was long and thin, reedy in appearance with little muscle or much fat on her body. What would be suitable for swapping place with her? There were giant boulders, tiny pebbles, stumps, tall cherry blossom trees; yet none near enough in her measurements. And then she found it, a sapling that had fallen over. It was becoming easier for her to mold chakra in to the main ingredient for getting a technique to actually work. Jun found it quite bothersome to try and weave her fingers together with any kind of speed while retaining focus on the mental and physical mix of energy. It was easier to just talk it out. "I can make it my reality by just talking about it. Change places with me." Jun was talking to the fallen over sapling. With her target selected the two switched places behind the sudden appearance of a plume of smoke.
The release technique.was a bit more perplexing. The nature of illusions both dizzied and dazzled her to such an extreme. Just how much could she actually 'release'? Was it merely the layers of imagery and sensory tampering that others placed on her, or was there something deeper to it. Jun concentrated on herself within this realm that had become her norm. She steadied her breathing and calmed herself. This might just be what could get her out of here. With a deep breath she held on to the air inside of her lungs and stuttered her chakra flow. There was a strange lapse of spiritual movement within her and Jun thought she felt her stomach churn. Turns out it was just the nerves. The moment passed and Jun was still there, still stuck in this place.

No, yeah; that made total sense. Jun was watching another young boy practicing to walk up a tree. He wasn't climbing though, literally just walking up it like it was even ground. "I can totally walk on vertical surfaces too." She said it with confidence as the chakra enveloped her legs and feet. If everyone else could do it, so could she. With a measured step Jun placed her foot upon a tree, and then repeated the action with another. She smirked then, parallel to the ground about a foot above it. It felt refreshing viewing life from this perspective. The cherry blossoms swayed in the breeze above her, the sunlight filtering through the leaves and kissing her face with warmth.
The concept was the same, that much Jun got. What threatened to escape was how hungry she was getting from exerting so much mental energy. Oh, and also how she was supposed to continuously adjust her levels to match the surface tension of the water. So it was that she sat by the edge of the water, observing her fellow budding shinobi attempt to not get entirely submerged and subsequently soaked while practicing this technique. She observed him step out on to the lake, ankle deep at first. He took tentative steps forward, an immense look of focus upon his face. Sometimes he wavered and would sink in a foot or two before catching himself and steadying his flow. Her sensory abilities were kicking in to high gear, reading the levels he was exerting to keep himself upon the surface of the water. It actually seemed pretty cool. Jun copied him, paying close attention to the feel of the water. With the occasional wave rolling by kicked up from the wind she adjusted, only ever submerging a few inches before steadying herself.

They had come to a detour. Caldera lake was perhaps one of the prettiest places in Uzushiogakure -- filled with almost luminescent cherry blossoms that clung to the edges of the lake, with water colored in a brilliant pink shade. Shinsei -- here -- felt like the utmost opposite to all of the beauty before him. His wood was hideous in color, gnarled and rotted in appearance, with a gross indigo fungus sprouting from the cracks in the wood.
But nevertheless, the appearance of the lake was charming . . . and by the calls of a screeching old waif, they had ended up here.
"Please -- help me!" she cried. "My goods have been lost! All of them . . . my entire life's earnings! Please, help!" she continued to cry out, hoping for -- praying for -- a shinobi to assist her. Shinsei's face furrowed in something akin to confusion, wondering if he should have taken her request in earnest. He glanced behind him to see if Sumiko still remained at his side.
