Ricard just grinned. "Well, somebody's comfortable. Don't know how much David and Laura would appreciate waiting another day to reach the safety of a checkpoint just so you can lay here and snuggle though." Ricard chuckled at his words, but it wasn't for long. Remembering what he had seen online the night before, especially around the cities, his doubts about whether there would still be a checkpoint by the time they arrived were growing ever stronger. Still, he had no other idea of what they could do. Maybe if they came across somewhere that was isolated enough and easily defensible they could just hold up there, but what if the military checkpoints were still up and running and offered the best protection. It was a gamble either way. Ashley's kicking of the bed sheets off shook him back into the here and now. "Who knows though," he continued, "if those zombies outside haven't moved on by now we may need to stay here another night after all." Ashley still wasn't looking at him, which was probably a good thing right now as the smirk on his face would probably have made Ashley blush beet red. Ashley hadn't just kicked off the sheets in her thrashing. She also exposed a nice shade of blue from beneath where her green chemise had ridden up her legs.

"I'm sure they will understand wanting one more safe day, before jump into the thick of it without a parachute." Ashley's face had cooled off a little by the feel and were probably the color of a light rose. She turned her head to lay on his chest instead of being buried in it. She closed her eyes enjoying the breeze that was now running across her smooth legs. Ashley had forgotten all about the nice outfit she was wear and therefore did not worry about all the skin that was showing after all between the breeze on her skin and the silk she wasn't very sure which was which anyway. All she could think about was the feel of those abs underneath her hand.

"Maybe," he contemplated. "I'll discuss it with David when he wakes up. I'm sure we have at least a couple of hours before that. At the very least maybe we can use it as a chance to search the surrounding area for some more supplies, maybe a few more weapons too. Hell, if it's thinned out enough maybe we can go grab our stuff back at the motel and bring it back here instead of having to worry about it when we do leave." Ashley was now using his chest as a pillow instead of burying herself in it. It was clear to Ricard that he was not getting up anytime soon, but he wasn't exactly displeased with the circumstances.

Ashley wasn't happy with any of the ideas Ricard was throwing out, "All of those ideas, involve getting up and dressed before David wakes up." She starts drawing things on his torso with her fingers. She was starting to wonder why what he said hinted toward wanting to get up but he didn't attempt to or even seem like he want to attempt it. This man was more confusing then she thought he was. She traced his muscles then drew figure 8's and flowers, eyes and hands, guitars and picks, and etc as she thought.

Ricard looked at her perplexed, even though it made no difference as she still wasn't looking at him. Instead, she was now drawing pictures on his body with her fingers. "What do you mean getting up before David wakes up. I said we have a couple hours before that happens, meaning we have that time to stay here. Everything else I said were reasons I could give David to wait another day." Ricard chuckled. "You must still be half-asleep."

"Oh..." Ashley couldn't help that smile that formed on her lips. 'He wanted to stay here with her.' She looked up at him with that smile. He was chuckling, "that's really smart and must be." Ashley was captivated by his laugh, and voice. Why did this happen almost everytime, especially with those eyes. She love those eyes and had no idea why.

"Good thing we're not getting up then," he replied wryly, now looking into her face. "Maybe you should try getting a little more sleep then." As he said this Ricard had begun stroking her hair. "You don't have to worry, I won't be going anywhere." As he stared at her, Ricard tried getting an understanding of what was running through her mind. The way she was acting, with the smile, and playing with his chest, and everything else, it made it appear that she hadn't fixed her chemise yet on purpose rather than by absentmindedness. Then again, knowing her, and as much of her upbringing as she'd revealed, it honestly could have been both answers at once. Maybe one day she would fully reveal what was on her mind, but until then he wasn't going to pry. It'd probably only make her embarrassed if he did anyway.

Ashley laid her head back on his chest and closed her eyes but found it impossible to actually go back to sleep, her heart was racing so fast she worried Ricard could hear it. "So we haven't really had time to talk about before this. I was a guitar player in a loyal band. You?" Ashley didn't look at him but instead tried to slowly pull the blanket over her with her foot, since she had realized she was not covered. Still doodling on his sexy 6 pack.

"Guitar player huh? Interesting, though I don't think a guitar will make that good of a weapon against the undead," Ricard quipped. "Me? Good question." Ricard just lied there, Ashley cuddled up to him, her finger still playing with his stomach, thinking about that question. He never knew how to answer questions like that. After all, who was he, and considering recent events, did who he was even matter anymore. "Well, I just graduated college. Sort of the reason I'm even here. Was taking a trip around the country to celebrate. Some celebration this turned out to be." Ricard ended with a roll of his eyes. He let out an exasperated sigh and looked back down at Ashley. He noticed that she was attempting to stealthily put the blanket back on her with her foot, but all she was doing was exposing herself a little more and more.

"Yea it was a lot of fun, just a few of us seniors started it before graduation as a way to stay in touch. College, nice. Where did you go and what was your major?" Realizing that she wasn't helping her case, she sat up. Proping herself on the hand that wasn't on his chest, while the one on his stomach lay flat against his 6 pack. Man it was nice to wake up and not be alone, the band had sleep overs sometimes but it wasn't the same. This was way nicer.

"Seniors?" Ricard asked quizzically. Ricard sat up a bit and scanned Ashley's body from top to bottom, finally settling on her face. He stared at her for several seconds before continuing. "You're seriously still in high school? I'd have thought for sure you were at least 19. At the very least you don't act like a typical high-schooler." Almost as soon as he said it he realized that of course she wouldn't. The life she had lived with her aunt would have easily rendered that an impossibility. Looking at her, she still had a body that one would find as that of someone in high school, but her thoughts, her actions, at least the ones not blown out of proportions by her aunt, all belied that of an older person. It was fascinating really. "Well, in any case, I studied Criminal Justice. Not sure whether that's a useful thing or not considering our current situation, but don't exactly have a choice in the matter, do we?"

"You thought I was 19," Ashley smiles and laughs a little, "I actually skipped two grades because my aunt was homeschooling me as well. She wanted me to hurry up and come home. I would have graduated June 24th. I'm 16 by the way, and Criminal Justice. So what made you decide that, when you didn't know where you wanted to go afterward?" She was still smiling and grabbed the blanket pulling it over her legs as she laid back down. It was much more comfy this way, head on his chest so close to his smoking hot bod, who knows how long they'll get like this. She hoped it was a long time.

"16?!" Ricard exclaimed. "You've got to be kidding me." Ricard leaned his head back against the wall, lost in thought as he stared up at the ceiling. Letting out a long, low whistle, he raised his head again and looked down at Ashley. She had covered herself back up in the blanket and was resting her head on his chest. It just didn't seem real, but then again neither did the outside world at the moment either. "Who ever said I didn't know where I wanted to go afterward?" he finally answered, leaving her age alone for the time being. "I was just on a vacation. As for why I chose it, I don't know. It just...felt right I guess."

"Well if you know what you wanted to do afterward, why didn't you say if when i asked about before this. You said you studied Criminal Justice, not you were a Forensic specialist, or something like that. If I had gone to college or ever knew what i wanted to do i would say it. Like I am ..." Ashley had to think of something that sounded cool and fun. She was drawing a blank, but she had to have something. "I am a motorcycle technician in training, or I want to be a Detective. Something like that, not I studied Criminal Justice. You sound like someone forced you to take it or that you choose it on a whim." Ashley looked up at him, waiting for him to respond she rolled onto her tummy and proped herself up on her elbows, removing her hand from his chest and put her head in her hands.

Ricard looked at her amusedly. "You don't know much about college, do you?" he laughed. "You asked me what my major was, not what I planned to be. A major is a broad field of study, and from there you'd either go to a more technical school or get a job that fits within that field, depending on the job. Like somebody who wanted to be a writer might major in English, or someone who wants to work in the corporate world would major in Business. The Criminal Justice major would encompass everything from a security guard to the beginning steps of being a lawyer." Ashley was now propped on her elbows looking up at him. She was bright, that was sure enough, but sometimes she could be naïve. Ricard knew that her naivety involved personal interactions with other people, especially members of the opposite sex, but apparently it also took the form of the wider world as well. "Your aunt..." Ricard started, finally deciding to broach a subject that had become more and more apparent in the past few minutes, "she never really planned for you to go out in the wider world...did she?"
