Luteth is a loving dragon who wants to see everyone do their best. The problem is, they are convinced that they know what "best" is, even if they don't know anything about the person or dragon they're trying to help. They're a well-meaning know-it-all, gifted with a calm bearing that makes them seem more mature than most, even as a hatchling. They are good at listening and exceptional at keeping secrets, but can be a little pushy when mining for those secrets when they're not given up willingly. Luteth's advice always comes with a touch of arrogance, and if your solution to your own problem doesn't match theirs, prepare for your opinion to be subtly shrugged off.

Physical Attributes: Luteth is a combination of extremes that add up to a fairly average dragon. Their legs are quite long, giving them speed and grace on the ground, but a stubby tail, neck, and wings slow them down in the air.
Additional Notes: To counter their lackluster speed, Luteth was granted a longer than average flame and a tolerance for pain that keeps them in the air after all but the most grievous of injuries. They are a fan of flights, both as a participant and an observer, oddly enough, but they're only ever really interested in getting caught by a dragon of the opposite sex.
Why Me: Out of everyone who touched their egg on the hatching sands, there was no one Luteth wanted to guide along the path to greatness more than Wyllig. Before they had shaken off the last bits of their shell, Luteth had stomped past a gaggle of hopeful candidates and planted themself in front of the fidgety young woman.
WylligMine. You waste time worrying about what others think when your Luteth is starving right in front of you! The past is not worthy of your wondrous attention. Come!
While they both possess enough good-natured curiosity to keep from bowing under the weight of boredom and expectation, Wyllig has a freedom of spirit and persistence that Luteth is attracted to. Instead of just thinking about being contrary, Wyllig actually does something about it... sometimes. After all, Luteth is there to talk her down from her more unrealistic ideas as well. Together, they will make a dependable, if slightly annoying, team.

Personality If you're not paying attention, you better start NOW! Pasalth is a dragon who demands to be heard, he's not afraid to speak his mind, and he's prepared to get into the thick of things. Sharp of tongue and quick of wit, he will absolutely do his best to flay another with words, should he feel the need has arrisen. Pasalth is a dragon that expects to, at the least, be heard out. If one doesn't want to heed his words, he wants to know why - He wants to know why one might not wish to follow his lead, why they don't think his idea is a good one. While he wants others to follow, he is not so arrogant as to think he's immune to criticism or fault, because when the day is done and the Thread is falling, he would hate to see somebody injured by Thread in any manner because of his words.

Physical Attributes: Lean and a bit bony, Pasalth makes up for his lower girth with quick speed. His wings, while long, are thinner in width, allowing for some extra endurance while in flight.
Additional Notes: When he breathes flame, it's short and broad. When others speak, he does his best to pay attention and listen.
Why Me: Why would one spend their life making bread, when they can do so much more? In Tarnaria, Pasalath sees potential. She's quiet, yes, and keeps to herself, but she also needs to open up more, to bond with others, and Pasalath is here to help her with that! Yes, bread is nice, and it does smell delicious, yet does one make bread to keep to themselves? Especially such artful goods! No, one shares them! Pasalath wishes to bring somebody with such skills into the light where others can see, while her quieter demeaner can help calm and humble him from always yelling and voicing his opinion too fast.

Name: Pinilth
Personality If Tarnaria thought she was shy and meek, she's nothing compared to Pinilth! This is a dragon who very much wants to vanish into the crowd, just another face among many. That can be hard to do with her size, but that doesn't stop her from trying! She's a pleaser, ready to follow orders and do her best while managing to fly under the radar, happy to get a "Good job!" for her work instead of loud praises. When she flies, she prefers to hang back, watching and observing. Pinilth knows many things about many dragons, but this is information she mostly keeps to herself, her own little bits of knowledge, from one dragon's favorite meat to another's preference of mud and water temperature. There's a dragon over there, you see, who prefers the ice-cold waters of the mountains to bathe in, versus the sun-warmed waters of the sea...

Physical Attributes: A bit on the pudgy side, Pinilth, while large for her color, is also shorter of limb. Her size mainly comes from her girth, and while she could be described as lazy, it's more that she simply likes to eat. Under her fat hides her muscle, the true source of her heavier weight. This slows her down, but she doesn't mind at all, since it keeps in line with her already liking to hang back. Her wings, unlike her legs, are longer, though the membranes are broad. Either in spite of or because of her bulkier weight, she has good stamina, lasting for the entire duration of her color's flight in Threadfall.
Additional Notes: Despite being a dragon, Pinilth has developed a taste for bread. Her favorites are sweet breads, a bit on the stale side after sitting out for a while. When she rises, she prefers to test the endurance of the boys chasing her - It's not about if they can keep up, anybody can do that! How long can they last? It's the only time she likes to be the center of attention.
Why Me: In Tarnaria, Pinilth sees a similar soul, somebody who compliments her own personality. Not nearly as shy, maybe that little hint bolder, a bit more ready to talk and be with others, but still similar enough that it's comforting. There is the comfort zone, of which Pinilth is happy to remain in, but then there's Beyond The Comfort Zone, which Tarnaria steps out of just enough to not be overwhelming. In the future with Hers, Pinilth sees an opportunity for easing into being with others, or getting more into the limelight, to bolden her horizons. With Tarnaria by her side, Pinilth will happily fight Thread, and then return to the Weyr and maybe, if she could just squeeze into the kitchens... Help make bread.

Physical Description:
Growing to be stocky and a bit on the short side at 5'3", Teohe is still filling into her frame, and may also gain another inch or two. Blonde-haired and blue-eyed, she may grow into a semblance of conventionally pretty, but will tend to carry a bit of extra weight.
Personality:
Though no less good-natured than her father, Teohe has a far calmer, much less boisterous temperament. She is quiet and thoughtful, and prefers to think before she speaks or acts; while she doesn't think poorly of those who enjoy it, she was never one for rowdy play or pretend fights (and certainly not real fights!). She's something of a pacifist, loathe to even playfully push someone, let alone hit them, and is just as careful of her words, well aware that they can hurt every bit as much as something physical. She's always had a very strong sense of empathy, is someone who hurts when others are hurting, and has a bleeding heart. If someone wants her help, she'll be right there, all the way, and give them what they need without thought. Her time, her things, her advice, whatever she has. You need her notes to study from? Sure! Forgot to study for a test? She won't say a thing if she notices you looking at her answers. Got behind on your chore for whatever reason? She'll do her best to help you catch up! Lost a bet that you can't pay and worried about the consequences? You can have what little she's got. This can lead her to being an enabler of others' bad habits; for all that her intention is to be helpful, it just allows them to skate by without having to face the consequences of their actions and learn.
Teohe can be too selfless, to the point where it can be a detriment to her own wellbeing. She'll give and give until she has nothing left, and then would feel guilty for not being able to do more. Similarly, she's very inclined to run herself ragged when there's work of any kind to be done. She will throw herself at it without reservation, and will finish even if she has to drag herself over the line. She will give nothing less than a full effort, refusing to bow to her own limitations - limitations she is aware she has, but chooses to ignore.
For all that she will work herself to the bone if there's a job to be done, she does love a good time, though she's more likely to be on the edges of a party than right in the middle. She likes the company and the energy, but doesn't care to be the center of attention...but she very much wants friends. Even if she's not core to the group, she still needs to be a part of one to feel fulfilled, as she craves a sense of belonging and a stable place in the world. In the same vein, she desperately wants to be loved, and will be prone to making poor decisions in the field of romance. Whether she hones in on a bad boy who "needs" to be "helped," or swoons over the first lady to turn on the charm, she'll open her heart time and again and leave it ripe for breaking.
Her self-esteem is derived mostly from how useful she is or isn't to others, and to some extent how many friends she has and what opinions they express about her, and so how she feels about herself is largely dependent on the company she keeps. If she has healthy, positive relationships with people who build her up and encourage her, she'll flourish; if she attaches herself to someone who puts her down or wants her to change herself to suit them, she'll languish, but not have the emotional fortitude to cut the cord on her own.

History:
Born to a bronzerider and a kitchen worker, Teohe is very much a typical weyrbrat: the product of a Flight, and raised mostly in the creche. Her parents were involved, however, and Teohe remains close to them both, as well as to her father's bronze, Hyglath. She has always been completely infatuated with dragons, as Hyglath is nothing short of a giant marshmallow, and allowed himself to be climbing gym and cuddle buddy whenever he was able.
She did find her father somewhat intimidating, as he is a very large and boisterous man, but she adored him no less. She knew she would never quite measure up to him, much as she would have liked to; she saw and envied his popularity, his many friends and loves, and doubted she could ever achieve or win such affections without being just like him. And since she knows full well she will never be him, she has settled for being herself, and that's mostly fine, most days. She has friends, of course, and a couple of young relationships, but is hardly popular. Teohe grew deeply concerned for her father's wellbeing when Thread returned, and is awed that he seems not to care about the danger...but will fuss at him to be careful when she can.
She entered Candidacy at 14, and has always been dutiful in lessons, chores, and the like. In spite of the risks, she wanted a dragon most ardently, a friend who would always, always be hers. She was on the fence about participating in the swaps, but eventually caved to the urging of a friend who was going and wanted company.

Name: Tiossith
Personality
Vanity, thy name is Tiossith.
This is one showy, flashy, fabulous dragon, and baby do they know it. Maybe a little too well. Tiossith places massive importance on appearances, none moreso than their own; while they were naturally blessed with perfect proportions and the most fetching of hides, that would mean little if they were not to maintain themselves properly. You will never catch this dragon "letting themselves go," and even as a hatchling they will be unlikely to overeat. They know exactly how much they need (preferably of the finest cuts), and will not go beyond that. On bath day, they expect a most thorough scrubbing - a massage wouldn't be amiss, either! - and will turn up their nose at anything other than fine, scented oil. Their claws had best be perfectly manicured, as well.
All this vanity might be hard to swallow if, when asked to work, Tiossith weren't rock-steady and absolutely reliable. Fortunately, their exacting standards do apply to more than just their appearance, and they will push for the best when working as well. After all, how would it look if they were to laze about? Terrible, that's what! So when it comes time for lessons, drills, and eventually fighting Thread, there will be no problems getting Tiossith to buckle down and do their duty, though they will expect a bath to promptly follow any exercise that gets them dirty. They will wear scars well, but if ever maimed or permanently grounded, would likely have problems ever seeing themselves as "whole" again.
Tiossith's meticulous standards and fine taste will also extend to friends and lovers. They want the exceptional: the prettiest, the bravest, the fastest, anyone who could be classed as one of the best. They have a curious sort of snobbishness in that not only do they love the best, they also have a perverse admiration for for the worst; notable is notable, after all, regardless of why. But average? They detest average. Average implies a total lack of effort or care, and they can't abide that. Wake up! Shape up! Do something with yourself! Whether it's asked for or not, Tiossith is all too happy to offer advice on how one could improve, though they will do their best to go about it in a tactful manner. Perhaps you might consider accessorizing in this color instead, or putting your hair up this way, or eating more greens, or flaming like so, and on and on and on. There is almost always room for improvement, and no reason not to strive towards it!
Their exacting standards and tactful manner give them the makings of a good leader, and while they will acknowledge that, they do not crave power just for power's sake. Whether or not they move up the ladder won't change that they're the best, and if anything not moving up affords them a little more time to dedicate to, well, themselves. And Theirs, of course. The only one Tiossith is ever likely to love more than Tiossith is Theirs.

With everything in almost perfect proportion for their color, Tiossith is fast and agile, but with a reserve of endurance that will serve them well. Muscular, but not too muscular, they are very much built to do the job that their color is meant to do, and do it well.
Additional Notes:
Destined to be a heartbreaker, it's incredibly unlikely that Tiossith will ever settle down; it would take the most exceptional creature or creatures to ever tie them down. They will delight in sampling everything that Flights have to offer, and if not selected by the lady when chasing (silly, but her prerogative!), will be happy to take their pick of the finest chasers.
Why Me:
Teohe, oh, Teohe! Tiossith knows a diamond in the rough when they see one, and here you are. A little time to mature, a little schooling in how to carry and look after herself, and Teohe will make a fine, fine young woman - and the finest of riders, of course! Tiossith needs someone who already knows how to work hard, who can match their work ethic but who will also be more than willing to put in the work it requires to take care of such a perfect dragon to keep them in top condition. This is far from a one-sided relationship, however; they will take adoring care of Theirs, and not only help her to reach her potential in every sense, but will insist that she makes herself a priority. They will never let her forget herself, or set all of her own needs aside. And those bad relationships she's prone to? No, those won't do at all! If they think someone is bad for Theirs, they won't hesitate to shove them right out of her life. And hopefully, Teohe will be able to lend them a bit more empathy, and with it the ability to temper their urge to nitpick.

Name: Naralyth
Personality Together, the world is their oyster! Naralyth is more than happy to buy into Kyzier's optimism regarding their future. [He/she] is ambitious, with a sharp edge to [him/her]. While certainly not ruthless, [she/he]'s prepared to make necessary sacrifices to get to the top. That said, [he/she] has a big heart, and loves easily. [He/she] doesn't want to HURT anyone to get to the top, unless they're rude and mean (obviously), so these are mostly self-sacrifices. [Her/his] ambitious nature is extreme, and [He/she] is willing to work hard and fight for what [He/she] wants. [He/she] knows [He/she] can lead others well--so why shouldn't [He/she] fight for the position? [He/she] enjoys being in control of situations, and trusts [him/her]self and Kyzier more than anyone else, when it comes to doing things right.
[He/she] is an empowered dragon, believing in [his/her] own inner and outer strengths. Confident, but not quite conceited, [He/she] is comfortable in [his/her] own skin and rarely worries about others' opinions of [him/her]. That said, [He/she] can be rather judgmental, and is quick to jump to conclusions. [He/she] is surprisingly cynical, believing in the worst in society as a whole. Individuals can be good, and [He/she]'s going to love fiercely and strongly, but [He/she]'s very aware that people, and society, can be cruel. Perhaps this is why [He/she] rarely takes things personally, and often judges moodiness to be someone's general disposition. Naralyth forms opinions quickly and easily, be they about people or something else, and is loud about what [He/she] believes and why. To anyone who will listen, [He/she] shares [his/her] thoughts. The flip side is that [He/she] can be quite passionate--in loving, in working, and in playing. [He/she] makes time for leisure activities, of course, and enjoys listening to Kyzier's music quite a bit.
"Curious" is a word to describe [him/her]. Naralyth likes learning things. [He/she] wants to know how and why things work. Unfortunately, [He/she]'s also nosy, interested in meddling in everyone's business. A bit of a gossiper, but with good intentions, [He/she] likes to know what's going on with everyone at the Weyr. [He/she]'s a bit of a matchmaker as well, and enjoys pushing people to confess their true feelings, and things like that. In general, [He/she]'s a romantic creature, who is prone to dramatic displays of affection--collecting flowers for a lover, for example. [He/she] loves deeply and often dreams about falling in love. Naralyth is resilient, so despite occasionally crushing on someone who isn't interested, [He/she] is able to move on with [his/her] life easily.
Naralyth is fiery and fierce, with a bold attitude that stands out. [He/she] refuses to bow to others, and those who act entitled cause [him/her] to bristle. That said, [He/she] is respectful enough--[He/she] just hates when others talk down to [him/her] or mistreat [him/her], and will definitely speak up for [him/her]self. Assertive, to be sure, [He/she] doesn't let [him/her]self be put down or harmed.
While Naralyth can be rough around the edges--a little uncouth and certainly fierce--[He/she] is nonetheless a loving creature. [He/she] cares deeply for others, and will always be fond of [his/her] siblings, even if [He/she] knows they are not necessarily...going to be "good" dragons. That's okay. [He/she]'ll still love them, albeit in a somewhat complex way, should they be cruel. Tough love, one might call it. [He/she]'s rude in some ways, and can be crude, but [He/she] doesn't tolerate meanness or cruelty. Standing up for yourself is great! But don't be a bully. Naralyth is quick to stand up for others, with a protective streak a mile wide. If you are timid, afraid, or simply unable to stand up against those who treat you poorly--do not worry, for Naralyth is here!
In fact, [He/she] can be a bit...involved in others' business, too. Meddling, invasive, and nosy--but well-meaning--[He/she] often advises others or butts in when [He/she] shouldn't. Sometimes, people don't want [his/her] help, and this is foreign to [him/her]. [He/she]'s definitely the sort to want to help others, and because [He/she] trusts her own capabilities more than theirs, [He/she] feels as though it's [his/her] responsibility to help them. [He/she] enjoys being in control of situations--especially those that pertain to [him/her]--and can be a bit bossy. What [He/she] sees as good leadership qualities, others often see as negative ones. Sure, [He/she] can take charge, but [He/she]'s not always supposed to, and sure, [He/she] can keep others motivated and hold them accountable, but isn't [He/she] a bit demanding? [He/she] expects the best from others, even though [He/she] doubts their capabilities. Certainly a good leader (Naralyth [him/her]self) would make them more capable, right?
Quick to anger and quick to forgive, Naralyth's moods are a bit mercurial. [He/she] hates certain things and behaviors, and will not hesitate to tell someone off, but seems to forgive them easily, so long as they're not a repeat offender. Prone to giving second, third, and fourth chances, Naralyth is nonetheless capable of maintaining a limit on things that are important to [him/her].

[Small Number] feet in length, maybe, but that's [Small Number] feet of pure muscle. [he/she]'s strong and powerful, without any evident fat or wasted space. Even more, Naralyth holds [him/her]self with power and strength, each movement precise and decisive. [he/she] is quite physically capable for [his/her] size, and [her flights will be slightly longer than one would expect/he will have more endurance when chasing than his size suggests.]

MALE: Naralyth wants desperately to be a father, but will settle for parenting young weyrlings that he takes a liking to. Equal parts mentor, father, and leader, he will take a tough love type of relationship with these weyrlings, and will model his "fathering" after hold-esque human relations...no matter how weird it is (you'd better not judge him). Why Me: Kyzier still has room for advancement, even without a metallic dragon, at Western Weyr, and Naralyth is happy to lead them into a place of power! (And Kyzier had better not complain about that--not that they would!) [he/she] loves her dearest bonded for their fire and determination, and matches them every step of the way, albeit with a more mature outlook. Kyzier needs to grow up a bit, have a bit more maturity, with less of that innocence/naivety/general silliness. Naralyth knows how the world REALLY runs, and [he/she]'ll guide Kyzier to navigate that.
Filled with their own opinions, Kyzier may occasionally clash with their bonded, but the pair will always be good-natured about it. There will be power struggles and irritation, but eventually, even that will fade away, as they grow more comfortable in the bond. Regardless, they will be as close as any rider and their dragon; they just often feel friction. It isn't because they're too different--rather that they're too similar.
Still, Kyzier has the edge and curiosity that Naralyth seeks. Ambition and drive are vital, and Naralyth would have no other candidate to be [his/her] rider!

Uta Egg Colors!To do this we're going to get an idea of what might be in the eggs! We always have an idea of dragon colors in the Hatching. We're going to try it this way to see what the actual distribution of colors in this clutch is! Please note: There will only be 1 gold in this clutch, if there's one at all! If the dice give 'multiple' golds, we'll change them to bronzes. We also have the right to re-roll. i.e. if there are only 2 greens, and 20 bronzes, that would break the usual Pern pattern! Please wait for staff to announce officially the color distribution! We can only roll 20 dice at a time, so will need to roll twice for the 27 eggs. 1-4: White 5-50: Green 51-75: Blue 76-89: Brown 90-97: Bronze 98-100: Gold |
