Sprout's feet picked up off the floor the slightest, pumping their wings with a laugh. They already enjoyed Verve's enthusiasm. It was an easy enough name to remember and the Fallen cataloged it away. "I'm not wooing anyone," Sprout informed, snapping their fingers. Maybe they should work on that, hand made gifts were romantic, weren't they? "I just like making my friends things. I'm not sure what to use bells for yet. Necklace?" The Fallen bopped along. Sprout wasn't convinced by the antlers though, instead picking up a bundle of candy canes from the nearest table. "Why be the reindeer when you can use these to make one?"
Eilwen gave Gaius a little nod (did he have three plants now?!) as they split ways so she could put her things away. She actually found herself skipping at one point. She hadn't skipped in a long time! She'd forgotten how fun it was. She hadn't really been making a lot of time to have fun since coming to the Academy really...
Once she got to her dorm she quickly stashed her goodies away on her bed, though the plant she left on her bedside table. She soil seemed to be a little damp already, so she didn't bother giving it any more water before making her way back out to where Gaius was waiting for her.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting!" Eilwen pipped up as they started to head back out into the festivities. "Was there something you were really looking to do?" It was her first time around such an event, so she figured it might be better to let someone a little more familiar with the activities lead her around. As they reentered the festival she was given another bundle of candy canes for her stocking.
Gaius waited patiently, watching others come and go through the doors from the fun that was going on outside. When Eilwen returned, he gave her his little grin, and shook his head, "Nope, not long."
As they returned to the outdoors again, already his eyes and attention had drifted off to the booth that had the plants. Maybe another one would be ok to take.... sauntering over, he casually slipped one more off the table, before returning back to Eilwen, looking quite proud with himself and his fourth obtained sprout. With her question though, he slowly went to looking around them, humming softly in thought, "Dunno. First time being at one of these. Haven't really looked around." it was difficult considering there was such an enticing hand out like the plants!
But his scoping out the area did manage to make him spy one booth that looked a bit interesting... or rather, a table. It had a nice spread of food and drinks, making him glance to his friend, "wanna get something to eat?" he offered, "then we can check out the games and stuff." with a little tip of his head to encourage her to follow, he guided them over to the table, getting on his tip toes to see all that was offered. A ripple in the punch bowl nearby made him perk up though, and eyes glue to it instantly... where another set of eyes were staring back at him. Blinking, his pupils dilated, and he tiptoed closer to get a better look, a small hand rising to hover over the rippling liquid. Reaching in, he felt something sleek and smooth, that didn't recoil from his touch. With great care, he hoisted it out, surprised to find a little salamander now dangling in his grasp, blinking back at him, and dripping with punch! So........cute!!!

A little startled by the exclamation, Silas gave a tiny perk in surprise, before nodding very slightly in confirmation. In the books he'd read, there were sometimes characters feeding little bits and pieces of food to the birds, who seemed to enjoy pecking away at the scraps.
At the offered hand, he blinked for a moment while staring at it, uncertain of the gesture at first. But then it registered, comparing it to what his dads would often do. With a bit of hesitation he reached out to delicately place his hand in the others, finding a touch of comfort in it for the connection it held with his parents. With another timid little nod, he stepped actually felt his stomach rumble at the thought of something to eat.
A reading date was a bit of a hard sell honestly. Even Foras wasn't all that attached to the idea of one. Especially if it was done as a couples date. He wanted to be way too affectionate if they were going to be sitting down reading to each other. He might not mind PDA to a certain extent, but cuddling up together and reading a book? Best done as a couple. However, he wasn't going to let Gany and Chries in on that. Nope. He put on a little pouty face and hugged Alioth closer for a moment.
"Don't worry my Starshine. The only voice you need hear reading to you is mine." If there was anything that rang true about Foras, it was that he positively loved to be dramatic. Someone else must have seen the dramatic display. Next thing he knew there was a stuffed vespercat plushie thrown at is face. To his credit, he did manage to catch it before it could hit the ground and get dirty.
He looked from it's grumpy face and then over to Ganymede. He smirked and laughed a little bit, but kept his mouth shut for a change. He tucked it under his arm with the other giant plushie he was carrying around. "Let us see what more the festival has to offer us, shall we?"
Jezebeth had one giant kidden plushie hugged to one side and one giant fennekit plushie hugged to her other side. Really, this was starting to get silly. It seemed someone wanted to get in on the fun. There were simply too many of these giant plushies to get sent home! "Here ya go kid, now you have one of each!" Jezebeth could only gawk as a giant purple Vespercat was shoved her way. She didn't know what to say, and ended up not saying anything at all. She had to hug all three of them snuggly in order to not drop anything. Seemed like it was time to make a stop at her dorm....She should probably check on Eno anyway! And she could delivery the cute, not so little, plushie to him as well.
Odessa and Kara both wandered up to a new booth that was filled with beads and bracelets. She smiled and couldn't help but pick up one of the little purple ones, showing her newest addition to her friend.
Kiessi bounced around with their new boa, twirling around as if they were in a fashion shoot. "How do I look?" They giggled.
While at another booth, Kara smiled upon seeing the bracelets and while she knew Odessa was going to go for one of the cooler colored ones, she couldn't help but pick up one of the Gift Giving themed bracelet herself~! It was the holidays after all, and now she'd never forget where she got it.
Woot! Her first big haul! She couldn't help but lick her lips at the thought of digging into her new candy.
Rorie smiled happily at this new little friend. Though he had given his plushies to his caretaker, he was holding on to his little pot like it would break if he didn't personally care for it. He couldn't wait to take it back to his dorm and see what kind of plant sprouted from it!
"Well um... I was debating seeing if there was anyplace I could find some sheet music but that's sort of silly, I can do that at any time... perhaps there are carolers or something. Or we could browse the books or... are there games you'd like? Candy? Something?"
He wasn't exactly sure what to do here, he enjoyed the festivities but normally he bought a few small things and then curled up in peace and quiet and played his violin.
"I'm just... not very good at games... I mean.. watch..." He offered... fully expecting to fail catastrophically at a simple game of picking a rubber duck for a prize (which was clearly, astronomically rigged toward small prizes, only to find himself being handed an enormous stuffed Kidlet, the bright blue trim sort of reminded him of Jasper's hair. "...That was not a very good example." He noted, flustered, from around an enormous plush head, on which the curious flitterat was happy to perch, nibbling a sliver of mooched peppermint bark.
"Would you... like... a plush... by any chance?" He offered, sheepishly, only to immediately be distracted by another book cart. "OOH! The Halfling? have you read this? You need to read this if you haven't. The prose is... well technically it's rather dry but the story itself is charming."

Jasper was inclined to believe the little critter was sticking around because there were treats to be hand. He was sure Nihls would take good care of the little guy though, and he was awfully cute! If he had more time to actually care for and train a pet, he'd totally have a little flitterat himself. Those little noses and whiskers were just too cute! His little Salamander actually suited him quite well though. As he wanted to have a pet, but couldn't give it all the attention in the world.
Looking for someone they thought needed a gift, Ziron found themselves on receiving more items still. Now they had a shiny boa scarf they put on for fun, and this huge stuffed kidden that they were holding tightly. Who could they give something?
Candy ( 7 )
"Silly am I?" Candy giggled back picking Phyre up and giving her a hug. She loved her daughter so much, even if she wasn't her soulstone child. All that mattered to Candy was that she was hers to take care of and love.
While the two embraced, they were both given some candy to enjoy for later, Candy receiving some peppermint bark to share with Phyre.
Phyre ( 6 )
"Yes, you are very silly Candy," Phyre snuggled in her mother's arms while she was hugged, trying to hug her back the best she could. Maybe she could be a great big sister. After all, she had a very great mother who could help her to be a great big sister.
Being given something to eat and share with Candy as well, Phyre received some peanut brittle to enjoy. Maybe she could even share it with her little brother Crystallize! That was something a big sister would do.
Lazarus ( 9 )
Lazarus nearly dropped the book that was almost literally thrown into his arms, barely catching it as the librarian tried to find someone else to give a book to. Wow, he had never seen her so desperate to have everyone read! No matter, Lazarus came across a game of "Break the Ice", where two teams took turns breaking blocks around a figure. The one who caused the figure to go into the ice lost, but still got a prize. Lazarus' team won, every single one of them winning a plushie to call their own.
Yihad ( 11 )
Making hus way to the more fashion oriented part of the festives, Yihad noticed a shiny boa that hu quite enjoyed looking at. After getting it, Yihad put it on and admired humself in a mirror. Hu looked good in it! Maybe hu could get a bit more fashion items?
Vivek ( 1 )
Coming to the fashion section, Vivek wasn't sure what to do. Was he supposed to try stuff on, or just look at everything? Whatever he was supposed to do, everyone seemed to be doing a bit of everything, which didn't help Vivek in deciding what to do. However, he was soon stopped and given a pair of clip on earrings, being shown how to use them when the nightmare who had given it to him saw his confusion. Huh... they felt weird but he did like how they looked on him!
Somansh ( 6 )
With her new familiar in tow, Somansh found herself being gifted a pair of earrings, then being told about a game she should play. Taking their advice, she went to the game booth that she had been told about tried it out. It was a game if "Break the Ice", her being on a team with a baphomet and one other nightmare. The three of them ending up winning the round, receiving a plushie each.
Jacintha ( 10 )
Jacintha was running out of stuff to do, quickly getting bored. What was she supposed to do when there was nothing to do? However, someone saw her bordeom and handed her some antlers, telling her to go play pretend. Play pretend with the antlers? Okay!
Coralie ( 15 )
Getting a shiny boa and seeing if it looked good, Coralie was startled when she saw a Cockatriel landing on her shoulder and admiring itself in the mirror. Well, it seemed to be anyway until Coralie realized it was looking at her! ", Ummm... Do you like my boa?" The familiar nodded, refusing to leave her shoulder. Well, it seemed she had a carnivorous bird now.
Aqua'glow ( 14 )
Aqua'glow noticed a booth of books and went over to it, a certain book catching her eye above all else. A book on a Voidmaiden? Hmm... it seemed interesting enough. Maybe she would get a good read out of it when she sat down to read it later.
Was she referring to herself? She probably was referring to herself considering she was around non-chimeras most of the time. She couldn't help it, fretting and worrying whether she was being a good example of her race always weighed heavily on her mind whenever she was in public. And so when Batholith tried to lighten the mood, the green-haired nightmare mirrored his grin.
"On some nightmares the grimace is more becoming," she said, following along until they reached the booth where they would test their strength. This time, the smile came easily as she waited for her turn.
She easily hefted the hammer but her aim wasn't as true as she would have liked. Instead of hitting it dead-center, it was a little off to the left, which had the lit bar reach just shy of the top. If she had feathers instead of scales, the chimera would have been ruffled. Instead, her tail swatted irritably against the ground. "Tsk, the balance on this hammer seems off."
Excuses, excuses. She got a bracelet for her attempt and begrudgingly slipped it on. What? It actually looked nice. She handed the hammer back to the hybrid, "Best two out of three?"

Verve's mouth formed a near-perfectly round "O" at the idea. "That. Sounds. Brilliant! I've never tried my hand at culinary-crafts before, well, not if I still want them edible, know what I mean?" she laughed. And she too snagged a bundle of candy canes, though she did unwrap one stick to pop it into her mouth.
"Oh! We gotta get some of the peanut brittle then! You could use that for the body or something," she said, properly enunciating her words despite talking around the candy cane.

One good thing about Charmstar's self-confidence was that he always managed to regain it quickly, no matter the setback. So when Hailey and Malachi suggested they play together, the white-haired fallen was already all smiles and glittering eyes. (The latter being more of a trick of the light than actual glitter but when he gets old enough to learn magic, ho ho ho~)
"Suwe! We'd love to play togethew, wight, Nikowa?" he declared happily, heading over to the booth the other pair of freshlings suggested. Maybe it was just beginner's luck, or maybe Charmstar's regular charm was coming back but he managed to win a huge plushie as well. Seeing how the doll had a tail, he handed it to Nikora and beamed, "Fow you~"

Amihan made a soft hmmmm-ing noise at the daydream's question. "I dunno about the music scene in the academy, I'm not very musically inclined when I'm on the ground~" she raised a leg, "I got two left feet when I try to dance. It's very funny, or so I've heard?" She sounded apologetic but for what exactly, it was hard to tell.
"The academy's really nice though. It's low stress. Unless you're naturally high strung~" she giggled, absently snagging a book and another plushie in the colors of the sky. "But if anyone picks on you," and here she sounds... sharper and that may be because her wings were flapping just enough to have both feet off the ground. "Don't hesitate to inform your teachers."
"I'm sure there are some people caroling around here somewhere!" It was a rather large festival going on after all. There simply had to be someone somewhere singing something. All it would take was some wandering around until they found what they were looking for. He didn't hear any from where they were, but then the crowd of voices probably drowned them out.
He watched curiously as Nihls tried he luck at a game and could only laugh when he was presented with a prize. "I think you're stealing my luck!" Jasper joked and a small blush hit his face when Nihls offered him the giant Kidden plush. That thing was huge! But it would fit right in with his small little apartment. He happily accepted the offered plushie, he wasn't going to turn it down!
"Thank you Nihls, it's so adorable." He wasn't sure if his appreciation was heard as the Litch was quickly distracted by the free books being offered near by. Jasper could only put a silly grin on his face as he spoke about The Halfling. "I htink I tried to read it once...and fell asleep...Maybe it would help if you read it to me next time." He couldn't help the little wink that came afterwards.
Prometheus was a little distracted with sorting himself out after the last plushie attack, but he jerked his head up when Ustule shouted. He narrowed his eyes, listening to Perigor's explanation... "They are being unsafe and should stop ettecking peeple with their plush toys. The eyes might hurt the more... sensitive peeple." He sighed, and shook his head. Thankfully his own nerves were deadened enough that it hadn't hurt him, but he imagined it might hurt those without the Rot.
"Well, this was a fun game..." He looked around, then spotted the life size Gingerbread houses... It wasn't the racing game that Teo had pointed out, but it was something that he could do! "There seem to be... large gingerbread houses... Do you want to go through them? I do not think it weell be like Haunted Hallows - nothing to jump out et us." He shrugged, then huffed softly as someone gently tossed a snowglobe his way.
He barely caught it in time before it dropped to the ground... Didn't they know litches didn't have good reflexes!?

-Mayuri Yukimura-
A reading date...? Well, he could think of plenty of other things he'd rather do but honestly it wasn't that bad... A sewing one might be more fun... but did anyone else sew? Probably not... Maybe an art date of some kind.. hm... Anchriesel's suggestion of hot cocoa caught his attention, though. "Aha, I guess it sort of does." He nodded and accepted the plush, then passed his over to Chries. He'd really just been trying to get rid of a plush, but, well.... He couldn't exactly turn him down without ruining the "magic" now could he? He had to play nice. He had to pretend to be nice. It was honestly quite anxiety inducing...

Corben listened while Jurvik talked, nodding along energetically to what he was saying - he just had to make sure to pass out prizes.. oh! One to that kid over there... He blinked, then looked back to Jurvik as he leaned in, pausing what he was doing to divert his full, undivided attention on him. Which, honestly, with as amped up as he was, it probably came off as an extremely intense stare coupled with a near face-splitting grin. (Someone please tell him he looks near murderous like that, honestly.) "Oh, that sounds just lovely. Leif and I decided to decorate the tree in my back yard! Hahaa it's all dressed up nice and shiny." He nodded, then glanced down to Xenophon before diverting that intense stare back to Jurvik again.
Hang out? Meet Leif? DINNER? Oh, he loved the sound of that. Honestly he loved the idea of spending more time with this fun geist fellow - probably for more reasons than he was consciously aware of, but that wasn't the point. He nodded enthusiastically. "I would LOVE to go to dinner! We can meet up again when you're done, how does that sound? I'm really looking forward to hearing you play!" Energy levels having reached maximum, he practically squealed his initial response. All chance of subtlety was out the window, so long, goodbye, didn't even get to know it. He clapped his hands together excitedly, and then looked to Xeno- thankfully with that outburst, the intensity of his gaze wasn't nearly so...intimidating.
"If you want to hang around here you're more than welcome to, Xenophon! I'm actually handing over responsibility for the booth here in a moment." He nodded, "so, that means if you wanted a chaperone I could join you in exploring while Jurvik is busy!" He was about to continue, but the question from a nearby nixie student caught his attention.
"Ah! Yes, that will do just fine in a humid room. Don't water it too much or you'll drown it, though!" He smiled, and then returned his gaze back to Xeno.
Sometime during this whole thing a few treats found their way into his bag... Hmmmmm.
Again, Decran couldn’t resist the allure of another book and he was quickly snatching up one more before heading away from the booth, before he was unable to enjoy any other part of the festival. He glanced around, looking for a game that he could play. Finally, one that offered familiars as prizes caught his eye. A ring toss game where he had to manage to get the rings onto bottles in order to win. Decran took the offered rings, handing over payment in return, and made quick work of the rings, landing four out of five of the rings. His shoulders sank a fraction as he realized that he hadn’t won. When the nightmare running the booth offered him a free retry on the last throw, Decran took advantage of it and managed to get the ring over one of the bottles. He picked out a purple and blue cockatriel and was handed it in a small cage.
Syra
Syra eventually found herself at another book stall, this one was smaller, with a lot less of each book. As she shifted through the books, she caught sight of an old favorite, ‘Malice in Wonderland”. The nostalgia that it brought back to her, made Syra unable to resist buying it. The moment she moved it off of the shelf, though, a sealpup plushie fell off the shelf with it. She blinked, slightly confused but shrugged and picked the plushie up. It was cute. Was it for sell too? Curious, Syra brought both the book and plushie up to the owner of the booth. She was informed that the plushie was not theirs and that someone must have left it behind. Syra was free to keep it if she liked and gladly paid for her book and went on her way.
Finnley
Finnley saw the jewelry booth before Jocey did. His eyes widened at the bulb shaped necklaces that swirled with glitter and glowed. He tugged at his caretakers hand and pointed. With Jocey in agreement to check out the booth, all three of them headed off. Jocey went off, looking at everything else, while Finnley went straight for the necklaces. He picked out a red one, knowing that not only would it compliment his coloring, but he would also be festive. After paying for his purchase, Fin quickly made his way back to Jocey and showed the necklace off.
Jocey
Jocey eyed the necklace Finnley held up in front of her face, head tilted as she watched the glitter swirl around and the light flicker around it. It wasn’t the color she would have picked, but it was lovely all the same. And she wanted one. With Fin leading the way, she was able to find the necklaces and pick one out — a blue one. It looked as if it contained a glittering, glowing ocean inside of it. She loved it. Paying for the purchase, she slipped it around her neck and held it up to admire. It seemed that, though they were spending a lot of their money, the festival was proving to be a rather fruitful adventure.
Ishy
Ishy felt a small poke to her side and jumped slightly as she turned to face the person who had touched her. At first she thought maybe the person had just bumped into her, but when she came face to face with one of her younger junior students, she smiled and greeted them. The shy girl returned her smile and held up a small snow globe. “For you, Miss B.”
Ishy blinked and eyed the offered gift before taking it and examining it. “For me? You’re sure?”
The girl nodded and Ishy saw a flush come to her cheeks. “I bought it as a present for you. I love your class and you’re a wonderful teacher.”
“Aww, you didn’t have to buy me anything. The fact that you like my class is enough of a gift. But thank you just as much. It’s lovely.” The girl grinned and hugged Ishy before moving off to meet back up with her parents. Ishy felt warm all over as she carefully stored the snow globe away.
Tyas
Tya shivered and wrapped her arms around herself. Her wings were safely tucked under her thick winter coat and the boa around her neck was up over her mouth. Still, though, the cold penetrated and her body shivered for warmth. She didn’t want to leave yet, though, because she was having too much fun exploring all the different booths. So she needed a way to warm up. Her eyes glanced over her current surroundings and she felt relief when she saw steam wafting up into the air from one of them. She made her way over to it and ordered a nice cup of hot chocolate. She settled down onto a bench, sighing and closing her eyes as the warmth of the drink made its way through her. She couldn’t help but let her thoughts wander as she relaxed. And somehow, they ended up on her roommate and what he might be doing at that moment.
”Umm, would you mind if I took another book?”, Edel timidly asked the librarian. The booth looked like it was well stocked, so maybe it wouldn’t hurt for her to snag another? The librarian must not have minded either, smiling back at the little freshling and pulling a random book and placing it into her stocking. “Sure, here you go!” Reaching into her stocking for a look, she looked curiously at the cover. She didn’t recognize it before. It may have come from the older kids section in the library, or else, how else could she have missed it in the many trips she took to the library. She’ll have to see about reading it when she’s a little older.
“So uh, Rhiannon… Do you… want to check out the festival together? It would be fun to explore with someone”, Edel didn’t usually have the courage to ask that sort of thing, but after the whole collision and kidden incident seemed to break the ice, she figured it didn’t hurt to ask. Besides, it didn’t look like Rhiannon had any friends with her either. Maybe she’d appreciate some company?
Rhiannon considered the offer. It wouldn’t hurt if she had a partner following her around…so long as her kidden didn’t get into any of her other prizes or gifts. The girl looked like she had a tight grip on the thing, surprisingly. “Sure, why not?” Realizing how the baphomet kept referring to her by name though while she herself didn’t know hers, she leaned toward her in hushed sheepish voice. “Uh, what is your name again?” ”Oh, its Edel!” Rhiannon smiled and then looked out to the nearby booths. She set her eyes on what looked to be a booth with a variety of sweets. “Let’s check out this booth next!”, She declared, quickly making her way to the booth while Edel slowly followed suit, trying to steer the kidden behind her. As Rhiannon got up to the booth she was greeted with a complimentary bag of peanut brittle.
Cyota Cheerfully wandered around the festivities. They wanted to make new friends, and going to events was sure to provide that - right? Right... At least they hoped so. It seemed like sometimes it was impossible to meet new nightmares, even when surrounded by hundreds of them.
- 15 Chun-li didn't really get holidays and this was just another one that made no sense. Oh well... Perhaps she could meet up with a chimera and be able to have a decent conversation.
- 5 Luno ADORED events. They were great for earning new gossip and information, and even better at learning the habits of nightmares when they weren't paying attention. Hehehe. Sometimes he was just too clever
- 2 Xochi's mind was still preoccupied with the hopes of getting a new child to care for... She hardly to contemplate more than that. But it was nice, very nice. She had to scope out the new idea of events if she were to engage a small child of her own.
- 15 Ahhh, Winter. Caetys grinned largely and inhaled through his nse. It smelled like heaven out here. He really loved it... This time of year was the best, especially since he loved to wear layers. Picking up a stocking, he happened upon a cute flutterrat. Kneeling, he offered out a hand and laughed softly as the little rodent nibbled upon his fingers, "Want to come with me, little friend?" Well, the flutterbeast seemed pleased and hopped into his stocking.
Arya nodded then looked thoughtful for a moment. "How about Page as a name?" He offered, just pulling a random name off the top of his head.
The little Chimera's wings fluttered when Piper asked if he had any familiars and he gave a smile. "Yeah! I have a Specterfox! He's a tall as I am! His name is Nihlus, my Dad helped me name him." As he talked he ended up getting passed a plush and a bucket of fake snowballs.

Nikora smiled at the shy Fallen and nodded her head happily and agreed with Charmstar. "Right! We would love to play some games with you both!" She followed her class buddy to the booth and played a bit herself. When Charm gave her the big plush toy she grinned widely and hugged it to her chest. "Thank you!" Her tail waved behind her happily and she passed Charmstar the pink candy canes she just won. "For you!"

As Caelan wondered around, he came across someone who was giving away plants so with a shrug he picked one up to take home with him.
