Darkwood Forest.... Beware!

Instantaneous darkness filled in his entire being and Vaiu sank to the floor unconcious.

Devian found some rope and a gag in the pantry and pulled it out. He tied Viau's hands behind his back and gagged him. His hound sank back into the shadows where he had come from. Devian dragged Viau to the wall so that he wouldn't be in anyone's way when Aure' came back.

A while later Vaiu woke up, his energy totally drained and his breathing shallow from utter exhaustion. He tried to stand forgetting what had happened momentarily and figuring he had better go back into town and get back to the horses or he would be fired from the only job he had ever managed to hold down. He found out quickly, however, that he was bound and gagged and totally unable to move. Fury rushed through his body as he struggled pathetically against the bonds his muffled yells echoing slightly.

"Bout time you woke up," a voice that was obviously not Devian's spoke. It was lulling, almost hypnotic, and most definetly female.

Vaiu looked around for the owner of the voice, his eyes turning slightly black in his anger.

"Please, don't be angry. Devian isn't exactly social, and he doesn't like being trespassed on," the voice soothed. A hand appeared in front of Vaiu's face and it gently removed the gag from his mouth.

Shaking his head he slowly calmed himself down, obviously this person wasn't to blame, his eyes edged back to peaceful green. "Thanks," he gasped still breathless from lack of energy.

"Here," the voice said, and a second hand held up a cup to him. "Drink slowly. Don't worry, it is only water," the voice promised him.

Swallowing his retort he did as was commanded and drank, the water was crisp and soothing as it slithered down his throat. When he was finished he nodded thankfully. "Who are you?"

"A friend," the voice with the hands promised. "You gave up a lot of energy to feed that hound, so just relax."

"I'm fine," Vaiu said trying to get to his feet only to waver horribly and fall back down. "I can walk."

"It's kinda hard to do that when you are still tied up," the voice with slight laughter. "Just relax."

"I wish to be freed, miss," he spoke slowly and clearly his eyes focusing on her. "Please."

"How do you know if I am capable of freeing you? All you have heard or seen are my hands and my voice. How do you know if I can release you or not?" the voice asked him, the hands disappearing from sight.

"If you have hands then I'm sure you can release me," Vaiu was dead serious. "Now if you would..."
