The Darkwood Forest has claimed the lives of many unwary travelers. It is home to all sorts of dark creatures and is home to the only path that you can take to get from Shi'uil Danun to anywhere. This immense forest encircles the entire capitol of the Empire and is bordered on the West by the Deserts of Diralsis, North by the Dragon Mountains, East by the Plains of Psycia, and on the South by the Swamps of Marshquake.

Vaiu walked eagerly through the dark woods whistling a tune that had something to do with a pretty girl. He had little care of the warning signs posted around the perimeter of the wood, he was too good for them anyway. Distractedly he ran a hand through tied back silver hair clearing a few of the stray bangs out of his grass green eyes that currenly glowed in the darkness. He had other things on his mind at the moment, however, he was wondering which sorry sap would lose his fat money purse to him today. He hadn't made a good stealing in about a half an hour and his fingers were already all a twitter with being out of practice. The next person he came across would be very unlucky.

Devian watched the new, unwary comer to the woods. He grinned a very vampire like smile. It wasn't his fault that there was vampirism somewhere along his family lines. He chuckled an almost evil chuckle as well. This new comer acted as if he owned the world. Well he wouldn't for long. It was time for a real scare.

Vaiu cut off his whistled tune and began one with a darker past, though he doubted the entity he sensed would take note of the tune he was whistling. He would just have to let the other think that he didn't know he was there. Mentally he took an inventory of his weapons, the ones he had 'borrowed conveniently' from a few of his less fortunate victims. They were all in place and all ready for him, including a weapon that none save him knew about. With an air of eagerness he continued to walk through the woods.

Devian wove an illusion of a stagecoach up the road ahead of the cocky traveler. Let's see how he would react to a runaway. He moved from his position in the tree to somewhere where he could see everything better.

*For the information of all those involved...Gypsy...I already posted, it just didn't work so it ain't my fault.... sad *

Vaiu felt the magic around him and watched as the stagecoach materialized out of nowhere, so this pathetic little creature thought he could mess with him eh? Fiening panic he threw his arms up and began to run yelling like a mad-man. Then when the stagecoach was practically on top of him he turned around and with a swish of his hand made it disappear, he had a knack for unweaving others magic...muwahahahaha!
"If you were trying to scare me you must work harder," he cackled then continued on his way.

Devian gritted his teeth and growled. THis guy was really starting to get on his nerves. Taking shadow form, Devian snuck up behind the stranger.

An odd howl of...terror? Maybe? Or perhaps pain echoed through massively limbed trees. The drow was only a couple hundred yards off, and in no mood to deal with such behavior. his day had been long and he felt as if he would do nothing but damage to anything that would disturb him. Damned thieves...think they can overwork a master. Think they can steal from a legend...Teraphin sat perched off of a sturdy but flexible birch limb awaiting news from the nearest Cordin outpost. War was brewing and he would do anything to dip a finger in such conflict.

Aure' Vaislin looked up in the tree where Teraphin was perched. Boy did he look irritable. She smiled evily to herself. Raising a hand, she pointed at the branch he sat on. A blue ball materialized in her hand and became a nice big snowball. Still smiling, she threw it hard at Teraphin's back.

A girl, young for an elf, sprinted through the dark forest. She felt like her heart was scattered everywhere, she couldn't feel it anymore. Her eyes were blood shot, and couldn't shut for what was behind her, she had to know where she was going. many dead leaves crackled along with branches. She leaped over logs and tree roots that were in her way, dunking under any large branch, and pushing away the other smaller ones. She jumped into a large dead tree that stood in her path, breaking a small branch or two. She clawed her way to the top. She catapolted from branch to branch, gasping for air as if she was drowning. She has gone far by now, and slipped on a branch, and fell head first towards the ground. She caught herself with her hands and arms and sumersaulted to safety. She hit a tree with he back. She looked in the eyes of what was after her. Scared to death, she looked down into her arms and hid, and pretended like it wasn't there. She looked back up from the safety of her arms. The large creature dissapeared as if it was only a fragment of her imagination. She was frozen, paralyzed from fright. So cold, her skin and lips began to turn icey blue. Her chest rose up and down as every breath exhaled gave a smokey small cloud into the cold midnight air. Her eyes as wide as the leaves that she stared at on the ground. Her hands planted into the dirt, barely keeping her balance.

Devian heard the rackett. He had long since abandoned the traveler on the road and had returned to his boulder home. Silently, he stepped out from behind a tree and saw the elf that was on the ground. He approached her carefully and gently touched her.
"Are you lost, miss?" he asked, his voice barely more than the sound of a breeze.

The split second she heard the voice of another, she gasped, shaking. She didn't say anything, afraid of what might come out of her mind once again. She looked up at him, not knowing what to do. Her breathing was still hard, and her heart was still racing for it's life. "I-I-I...." She tried to speak, but she couldn't. Every word she would try to make out sounded like gibberish, her language was lost. She was in shock, panicking.

"Hey, it's ok," Devian soothed and knelt next to her. "Just breathe. You'll be all right."

She jumped and backed away, as if he was a demon from hell, her worst nightmare. She tripped and slipped back into the dirt and fell on her bottom. Holding herself up by her hands, she then looked down as tears started to run slowly down her cheeks. She breathed, just as he suggested. She looked at him, fear in her eyes which was captured small bits of the moon peaking through the holes of the clouds and fog in the air and sky.

Devian saw the fear in her and shook his head. Fear was not something one should travel with in the Darkwood. He pulled a handkerchief from his sleeve and slowly approached her again. "It's ok, I'm not going to hurt you," he said gently. Slowly he knelt beside her again and offered her the handkerchief. "Here."
