Aincrad arc
Episode 1
Diving in to a virtual reality game created by Akahiko Kayaba had young man Kazuto Kitigaya aka Kirito chomping at the bit to get started thinking that this was going to be like any other dive he has done before. However, when Akahiko announced that this game is no longer virtual, but real life, things began to get crazy in Aincrad.
Some people tried removing the VR helmet to log out, but that resulted in death. For once placed on the head, if removed by force, it will send a signal and fry the brain. It was no longer a toy, but a dangerous weapon. That meant Kirito could not rely on his sister or his mom to wake him up.
The game itself was dangerous because it was filled with deadly monsters that would not hesitate to kill someone on sight. Thankfully there were weapons and armor to combat these foes and like any fantasy game, once you beat the monsters, you get loot and experience.
Kirito met another young man by the name of Klein who was just a beginner. Thanks to Kirito's skills already, Kirito was able to show Klein the basics of the game.
Knowing that he has to clear the game as fast as possible in the beginning, how far can Kirito go before having to rely on others to assist him?

Episode 2 - beater
Because Kirito had been a beta tester, this put him at an unfair advantage above everyone else in the game. However, as was shown in a meeting, there was a guide to help the rookies get the hang of the game in the early stages. But there was one problem. The information wasn't accurate.
When Kirito and all the beginners faced the first floor boss and the boss showed a different weapon than what the guide said, the other beta tester got killed. Kirito, on the other hand, beat this boss like a drum. In reality, it was not because he faced this boss as was before. It was because of his experience in games similar to this. So, he was somewhat expecting a change.
After beating the boss, the same guy that was trying to put a black mark on the beta testers, called Kirito out. Claimed he was a cheater. Well, that was fine with him because Kirito liked working solo. And Kirito's point was made that while the guide can be useful at times, its not going to be a cheat sheet. This game was not designed to be for the faint at heart nor was it meant to be for complete newbs at these games. You gotta use your head.
Accepting the item dropped by the boss, Kirito became known as the black beater and went on his merry way.

Episode 3 - the moonlight black cats
Wanting to help out some of the inexperienced players out and since these guys were a tight knit group, Kirito decided to help out the moonlight black cats guild achieve some of their goals, however, the arrogance of the guild proved to be the end of them save for Kirito.
For one, Kirito hid the fact that he was a much higher player than the other members so he alone could handle the danger. Secondly, it was at the request of someone other than the leader to go take on a floor that was too high for the guild to handle even as a group. Third, one of the members, a woman named Sachi was afraid to die so the other members, save for Kirito put this woman at risk of something she didn't want.
Well, a treasure room trap proved costly and Kirito was the only one to survive. Sachi did end up dying and this broke Kirito's heart. He did not want her to die especially after he promised she wouldn't. On Christmas eve that year, an item appeared in Kirito's virtual mail box and it was from Sachi!
Listening to the message, Sachi knew that she was going to die despite what Kirito said and she knew his true level because like a ninja, she snuck a peek when he wasn't looking. This got him crying, after he had tried to get an item that could revive someone. The only trouble was, it had to be used in 10 seconds after someone died, so the item was useless to Kirito.
Now Kirito is once again fighting solo. Can Kirito catch a break?

Episode 4 - the dragon tamer
Silica, a woman who trains familiars was in a party of bullies. After giving them stuff, she disbanded from their party and tried to take on a forest alone. She loses her best friend Pina who is a beast known as a familiar. It was like a pet to her. When she was about to die to a team of rampaging gorilla monsters defending their territory, Kirito jumped in and saved her.
Out of gratitude, and to help one another, Silica forms a party with Kirito temporarily. Apparently, Kirito is part of the assault team, which means he fights on the front lines so that everybody who is alive by end game will make it out of there safe and sound. Kirito informs Silica there is an item that will help revive Pina while keeping secret that he wants to send Silica's old party to prison for being bullies in a death game. He did explain to Silica that some people enjoy being the bad guy online where normally, a player killer isn't that big of a deal. But, since this is a death game, being a player killer is bad news bears for everybody.
As of no surprise really, Kirito does send Silica's old party, the bullies to prison while at the same time, helped Silica revive the familiar that was Silica's best friend.
