Nice little video. One of the things I know for sure is that it's ok to Cosplay the same character as another, especially if it's a popular character. I have plenty of photos that I took of cosplayers wearing the same outfit. I even go out of my way to find cosplayers who cosplay the characters that I like a lot.

On the other side if the cosplay is an original design thats based on an original character someone could try making the same outfit after taking a picture of the other cosplayer. That could be considered plagiarism.

Copywriting is not a new thing. That's why people use watermarks on their photos. All in all Cosplaying is supposed to be fun and not for someone to steel someone else's design.

Well The person's point of her cosplay looking like someone elses, is they probably used the same fashion plate to come up with their ideas. It's well know that Princess Serenity's dress was a famous regency dress that many people now copy to make their own dress. Historical costume makers make the same costume all the time.

Even then with cosplay and using similar techniques, it's like a complement too. You're idea on how you did this was really good, so I'm doing it too. The technique isn't really copying the person because techniques aren't copy right as well.

I'm also really curious on what the other cosplayer thinks, because it was her friend that contacted the narrator?
