Minerva smiled and offered Haddie a small nod as she gave Ringo her forms before pulling out her own copy of the booklet and checklist from the center drawer of the desk. Her eyes refocused on the initiate as she asked her question, involuntarily releasing a small chuckle.
"We are primarily intellectuals, not physically driven. If you take a peak at your checklist, your tasks are mostly mentally-based. In order to be accepted into our following we have to ensure that you have devoted yourself to the Truth Seekers and our way of life." Madam Aleta paused for a moment, relaxing her posture a tad. She knew the first day was often a bit overwhelming for some. It was an adjustment and transitioning to a new way of life was never easy.
"Orientation day is what we call your first day here with your new family. It is the day in which you settle into your new home and begin your adjustment to our way of life." Moving the booklet to the top of her small stack of papers, Madam Aleta tapped the cover with her long, manicured nails.
"This booklet contains a map of our grounds, a brief description of each building, as well as a copy of our values for you to read, memorize, and live by. The other paper is your initiate checklist. It is your ticket to becoming a member of this following. Complete everything, and you will be a full-fledged Truth Seeker. Fail to complete each task successfully and you will wind up back in the colony--or worse." Minerva was silent for a moment. She did not like to think about what came of those that were ill-suited for this lifestyle. Crius was an awful man to deal with and what he did to the poor souls that did not make it into one of the groups was truly horrible. Shaking her thoughts from her head, she produced another smile for Ringo. Scaring her new initiate was the last thing she wanted to do.
"Have you any other questions before we go over everything?"
