- There are two types of names within the pack; given name and earned name. Most wolves only have a given name, and they can be of any nature. It is preferred wolves have names themed around crowds, feathers, nighttime, and birds, but really it doesn't matter. Given names are the name you received when born. A wolf may change their given name upon joining the pack, but it is still seen as given to them.
Earned names, however, are rare and desirable. Sometimes, a wolf will benefit the pack in such a way they deserve recognition in both life and history. They will be bestowed an earned name. Unlike most pack members, the Alpha does not provide the name. It is the Head Seer who does, as it is believed in the pack that Seers have the closest ties to time and history and thus should be in-charge of an earned name. Earned names will reflect the deed or event that resulted in them acquiring their name.
When on the roster, a wolf will have their given name and then their earned name beside it. For example: Big Bad "The Omen". When speaking in RP, a wolf will introduce or mention a wolf in a similar way. An example is: "That over there is Big Bad, the Omen."
A wolf can only have one earned name, although it can evolve and adapt if the wolf continues to influence the pack.
Do not request earned names on certs, please.
To have your wolf receive an earned name, they must have done something substantial for the pack. This is situational, obviously, but that is why there's a form in place to see if the wolf has done enough for an earned name. Sometimes, during pack META's, a wolf will be automatically given the right to an earned name depending on what that wolf does. Other times, the owner must request for an earned name.

[1] Monthly Prompt finished.
[1] RP of substance (at least 10 posts) showing a life changing moment for themselves or someone within the pack. The wolf must be heavily involved in this moment and the reason it happens OR do something of great note. This is situational, so it is best to get it approved by Nymphiea. It can be an event happening the day the wolf is born (if they are a born-in breeding) that marks their existence forever, saving the life of another member, or something else considered important.
