This is Morningsky, mate to Sunseer, mother to Littlepaw, Emberkit and Blazekit. She passed away due to sickness and starvation. She has no open roleplays (unless you count the Meta ORP) and no finished roleplays.

I am rehoming this character mostly because I don't want to roleplay the relationship of Sunseer and Morningsky by myself lol. So I offer her to you, if you can answer me this.

How did Morningsky and Sunseer become mates?

There is no word limit to this, but you only have until November 1st @12PM to tell me their love story.

story
Part One: Not Even
He remembered the first time he met her. His eyes had lifted and met hers and for the smallest of seconds he felt his heart ache. It hurt, almost, how her eyes reflected back to him a green he hadn't seen before -- it was blinding, even. Her eyes curved with her smile as she let out a sweet laugh. His mouth dried, paws lifting to approach the she-cat when the source of her laughter slipped past him in the form of a similar colored female. For a moment, perhaps even a minute, he felt bitter disappointment that he hadn't been the cause of the sound.

Luckily for him, he didn't have time for those kind of worries -- he had duties to attend to and nothing would him away from his daily hunt.

Not even the pretty eyes of a pretty cat.

Part Two: Laughter in a Small Place
She never thought about what came after. She had only pushed. Pushed and pushed until there was nothing left but a raw fatigue that nipped at her heels. She wasn't panicked, but she wasn't content, either. The clan prospered, as it often did, but Morningsky had felt nothing but a frantic need to earn her name. Now that she had it, well, it felt weird. Wrong, maybe, but only a little. She had just been Morningpaw the day before, eyes lit with hope and mouth tight with anticipation as she waited patiently for her turn.

She had her name, and with it a place within the clan, but now she didn't know what came after. She knew her new duties; understood them at their fundamental core, but that wasn't everything to life. It wasn't enough. She didn't feel like she was doing enough. She had more to offer the clan and her chest thumped as she tried to search for what that meant. Why did she feel unsettled? Nerves?

She didn't have a word for it, but perhaps if she did she might have been able to quell her panic. Anxiety swelled in her chest as she stared at her paws, green eyes narrowed in thought. What more could she do?

Then, she saw it; a sight more ridiculous than any she saw before. A loud yelp emitted from her right as a cat dashed past her. She swayed as the momentum rushed through her like the wind, eyes bewildered once they spotted a familiar tom bolting around the camp grounds. Spottedtail, if she remembered correctly.

And then her attention drew to what he was frantically fleeing from; bees.

A sharp gasp left her as she jolted to the side, watching the poor tom roll frantically on the ground before tossing himself into a nearby bush, followed shortly by Dovetail carrying something unidentifiable. Surely something to help the poor tom. Morningsky's nose wrinkled as she fought a laugh, hearing various yowls mixed with the soft voice of a tired medicine-cat. It was useless and the fight was lost as she released an undignified laugh, eyes squeezing shut against the force of her laughter.

Suddenly, the panic didn't matter anymore. She felt her shoulders fall as her chest heaved with the effort of her laughter, head shaking. When her eyes broke open she paused abruptly, noticing the tom had popped his head out of the push and was staring at her.

They were beautiful -- his eyes. Mismatched and gentle, they took her by surprise. For a second she felt horrid for laughing at his plight, but then he smiled hesitantly before a tired laugh escaped him in return.

Dovetail, however, didn't give them long to laugh, instead pulling the injured tom aside to begin fretting at his stings.

Part Three: Comrade
As time passed Morningsky watched Spottedtail from a distance. As far as she knew the scene she had seen was unlike him, and she had heard the other cats mumble such with a tone of humor laced in their words. Months came and went and yet she noted him when he passed by, although quietly. His eyes would meet hers and she'd shy away, focusing on something or another while waiting for his glance to flick aside. It always did, but she wondered if he knew she'd always glance back at least once. If he did he was offering her a kindness by not commenting. Her crush was obvious to her family and herself, but she prayed he'd never discover it.

His words began to carry weight. He stood tall during clan meetings and begged for peace. Morningsky held her mouth shut as she stood in awe at the perseverance in him. She wanted to speak up; wanted to agree with him and push forward his words and thoughts. Push them past any who doubted him. His request for peace was similar to her own desires. His views mirrored her own, although Morningsky felt that familiar anxiety dwell when she wanted to unlock her jaw.

And then, during one heated debate, she couldn't stay quiet anymore.

Spottedtail stood between two cats, his eyes tired from the discussion. They wanted to expand hunting grounds past the mountain, although Spottedtail disagreed with the idea of where they should head. Their current grounds were good enough, but one of the two had seen two-leg territory and wanted to chance it. 'Two-legs eat well, maybe we'll do well ourselves.'

But that idea was a foolish one, and she knew most of the clan would agree. Spottedtail did, too, but the two cats didn't care for any such logic. In fact, they were loud in how they didn't care, and Spottedleaf was getting nowhere.

"He's right, you know," she found her voice calling out, startling the three cats. "We don't interfere with two-legs. They could snap one of us in half, and what if they follow us back to the base?"

The argument that followed was insignificant by far, and would eventually be wiped from her memories. It didn't matter, after all. All that did was the moment Spottedtail glanced over and she noted the relief spread through his features.

It was the first time they had truly been in one another's space, and it wasn't the last. Morningsky found with the relief she felt finally speaking her opinion that it was easier to add to the clan meetings. Often her words followed behind Spottedtaill, but at times they spoke clear and true before his did.

And it seemed, for once, his eyes began to linger on her now.

Part Four: Flowers
"What is this?"

Her nose twitched at the small pile of flowers before her, eyes lifting to meet Spottedtail's own mis-matched gaze. His nose twitched, either from nerves or the own startling strong scent.

"We found too many during patrol, and Dovetail shooed us away with them. I thought you'd...." He trailed off, expression caught between what she perceived as apprehension and hesitation. She took a second to consider the gift -- the first real gift he ever gave her -- as she noted their colors and hues. For her? Why for?

No, that was a stupid question. How many times had she caught his glance when she spoke beside him? How many times had she caught him jerking his head back to the meeting when she noted his grateful nod in her direction? They had, for some time now, exchanged words solely on politics of the clan, but there was a warmth in their interactions. In him, even.

The warmth was infectious, and now she knew it wasn't only her who felt it.

For a moment she considered the pile before, delicately, she lifted a flower, nipping the stem clean before gently slipping it behind his ear. His head pulled back slightly in surprise, greeted with a firm headbutt from Morningsky.

If he was going to be bold, so would she.

"It's lovely, Spottedtail."

She swore she saw him blush under that dark fur.

Part Five: Goodbye for Now
Time came and went, as it often did. Their friendship had slowly turned into more, although not by Spottedtail's will. No, he was a slow pursuer and many would have given up on him the moment he turned into a deputy, but not Morningsky. She was patient and persistent in her own pursuit. She was there for the hard nights and there for the easy ones. He leaned on her for strength and Morningsky felt herself push him back upright when he needed it. Her advice was merciless and direct, something he sought as the cold came and went. She was never cruel, but she never sugar coated the words he or the clan needed to hear. Finally, after what felt like a century, he accepted her affection with his own and they became a pair.

Her strength grew as she pushed past the tension in her chest, and with it came a new title of her own. Spottedtail stood tall as he took the new leaders role, although his eyes held a sadness she was not accustomed to. Spottedtail became Sunseer, and he turned to her. She became deputy, and while it surprised herself it didn't seem to surprise the clan.

But the starvation did.

Disease riddled the clan as the river dried up and the prey fled. She felt her skin pull around her bones as she struggled to press on. Her intimacy with Sunseer showed in her belly as it swelled despite how the rest of her began to grow smaller and smaller. She still held a smile many knew her for when Dovetail told her of her pregnancy -- children were blessed, and she knew they'd do great things if they were anything like their father.

Except, she wouldn't see those things. She began to pass before she knew most of her litter would. Her eyes grew distant with each push and her mewls grew less reassuring as Sunseer fretted. She still locked her green eyes on his, and they still shimmered a green he still hadn't seen outside of her own beauty. She knew her time was up the moment the last kit left.

With a tired sigh she turned her gaze away to settle her head, eyes shutting.

"Please love them for me," she exhaled, unable to see the expression her mate suddenly shot her. "Love them as I love you."

She didn't open her eyes again. Instead, they remained shut as she watched him from her new home. Watched him press on, grieve, and suffer. He never faltered from the cat she fell in-love with, and when he took his final sleep she laid by his side, waiting to be reunited with the sweet tom from time past.

One thing is for sure; you better believe she reminded him about the bee story the moment he ascended to Sun Clan.

[As a note; She has generalized anxiety disorder, like her daughter. It's where Littlepaw got it from.]

sunclan cats as in dead cats? 0. cats in the shop? 1 (Pigeonpaw)
story

chapter one:

"Morningpaw, you have to watch out! Spottedkit is barely opening his eyes," the queen Honeytail demanded in an enduring tone. It was weird, how Spottedkit was the only kit in the litter, but then again, Morningpaw was the only kit in her litter too, meaning that the two were the youngest members of the clan. Exciting!

"But, Honeytail, I've waited soooo lonnngggg to play with him! Also, Strongclaw said that I can show him around the camp once his eyes open! So I really want to do that right now!"

The queen chuckled before waking up her son. "Spottedkit, Morningpaw is here to show you the camp. Are you ready?"

The kitten yawned and then stumbled to his paws. "Are we going to see my dad?" He asked. It was hard, having a father be the deputy. Strongclaw never came in to see him.

"He's coming back from hunting soon with Flyfur, but he'll be back soon! So let's go Spottedkit and let's have some fun!"

chapter two:

"Spottedkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Spottedpaw. Your mentor will be Strongclaw. I hope Strongclaw will pass down all he knows on to you."

Many cats congratulated the newest apprentice in the ceremony, and Morningpaw was one of them. She did not stay long though. Flyfur had assigned her to her warrior assessment today, and so she was anxious to get it started!

"Are you ready to be a warrior, Morningpaw?" Gorsepelt, a recent warrior asked.

Gorsepelt's sister, Rabbitfoot, commented, "Come on Gorsepelt, we all know that you can't wait until she moves in with us again." she rolled her eyes. Everyone knew that Gorsepelt had a crush on Morningpaw.

chapter three:

With Flyfur by her side, accompanied by Gorsepelt and his apprentice, Whitepaw, the four of them successfully hunted. She even manged to pin down a hawk with her clanmates with her.

"That was a great leap you did back there," Gorsepelt congratulated, rubbing his chin onto her forehead. Morningsky purred. Little did he know that she as carrying his kits.

chapter four:

"By the powers of Sunclan, I give you your warrior name. Spottedpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Spottedtail. StarClan honors your loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Sunclan."

Morningsky chanted out the newest warrior's name, knowing that Spottedtail too, was the only kt of his litter. It was a blessing that they both made it this far. By now, the clan knew that Spottedtail would be one of the first to mentor her future kits. Gorsepelt was a proud father to be, and even Strongclaw was cutting her some slack!

"Morningsky, we have to talk.." Morningsky turned around, and saw it was their medicine cat, Spottedfur. "...I know I should talk to Sunseer first, but I think it is more immediate of matters to you... I received a message from Sunclan. And it's not good news."

Morningsky shuffled, uneasy at the medicine cat's words.

"Three. Three. Two small kits. Two warriors. Joining Sunclan." That was all that was said.

chapter four:

Morningsky was out with Flyfur, Gorsepelt, and Whitefang when it happened. Avalanche. It all happened too fast. Gorsepelt threw himself on top of his mate to cover her and their future kits. Flyfur got crushed under the boulders. All went black.

chapter five:

"Morningsky, you have to wake up."

She was depressed in camp for days. The only cats she let see her were Spottedfur and Whitefang. The young warrior told her everything. He carried her back to camp, slowly, but surely. Spottedfur announced that the kits were dead, and that it was a miracle Morningsky was alive.

chapter six:

Today, she felt normal. Like herself again. She happily helped Rabbitfoot any way possible, helping raise the new set of future warriors. Rabbitfoot was the only thing she really had to those days now. She even got the queen to name their oldest son after her mentor, Flyfur. Flykit. Morningsky had the intentions of asking Sunseer to mentor her. It was weird, seeing Strongclaw as Sunseer, but it happened.

As she looked around the camp, she saw Spottedtail, the warrior that she barely spoke to. "Hey Spottedtail, Sunseer's about to come back from hunting. Want to explore the camp with me?" she asked, almost the same question from when they were younger. She smiled when the tom played along. Together, they spent hours exploring the camp like kittens again. Little did they know how much the clan noticed them that day.

chapter seven:

Spottedtail was appointed deputy. Sunseer was soon falling ill.

chapter eight:

"Sunseer, I have news to tell you," she started, unsure of what to say. She said this to another cat before - Gorsepelt. What if the same thing would happen again. "I'm pregnant, with your kits."

They have always held it off. They were mates for moons now, but both agreed to hold off having cats for a while. They had to always put the clan first. It would be a wonderful start. A new beginning.

chapter nine:

The river was depleting, and she was growing weak.

If only...

"Morningsky!"

chapter ten:

Morningsky awoke to her name, only this time, she could not tell where she was. Everything was different. She saw Sunseer against her, but she could not feel him. She panicked, unable to move her still body.

"I'll always love you, my love."

Little did she see two still bodies against hers, while one other was moving.

Her kits!

"You two were always meant to be, Morningsky," mewed Gorsepelt, welcoming her to Sunclan. "Flyfur already set up your bed for you and your kits." He quickly gave her a reassuring smile that things would be alright before picking up the two kittens, while guiding her back to Sunclan's camp.

She was finally safe.
