[PRP] We Should Be Friends - Ashtoreth & Lyraeth

Ashtoreth lay sprawled on the sand near the beach, listening to the waves as they calmly crashed on the shore. The sound was calming, and that combined with the warmth of the sun on her outspread wings was causing her to doze off. It had nothing to do with the fact that she was bored. And she most definitely wasn't bored because Licerth was off doing drills or something.

Definitely not.

She heaved a sigh as she thought of him. She never thought she would give her heart to a brown, but Licerth had been..insistent. Well, that was one way to put it, she supposed. The determined brown dragon had needled his way into her heart and there he would stay. The large gold huffed out a breath as now she had made herself miss him. Not that she was likely to tell him. Though she was undoubtedly in love with him, she still tended to be stingy with her affections. Perhaps she ought to change that...

The day was perfect for sunning at the beach, Lyraeth had decided. She’d headed there—and paused, studying the gold before her. She stood for a while, quietly, before nesting next to Ashtoreth. Are you alright? she asked. She’d heard that sigh. Boy troubles? A bronze maybe? What’s his name?

Ashtoreth had allowed her mind to wander so far that she missed the other gold coming up behind her. She lifted her head as the other female settled next to her and chuckled at her questions. I'm quite alright, thank you. No troubles. Not really, anyway.

She turned back to watch the water. And you? How have you been? A soft smirk. Anyone catch your attention?

No troubles? That sigh had seemed filled with them. Just one, she admitted. Eorawth is talented in flight, and very intelligent. He isn't the average bronze. But he wasn't here to tease.

You don't have anyone you're interested in? she asked.

Eorawth... Had she seen him before? Had she even really been paying attention? She couldn't remember, but she tried not to let on that she couldn't place him in her mind's eye. Yes, but is he a good male? she asked. Talent and intelligence weren't everything. Nor was color.

Yes, of course there was someone she was interested in. Mm, there is someone, she mused.

He is. He's sweet and kind, his rider is a Wingleader, there was pride there, in her voice. He was fast, for a bronze, and clever. Oooh! She did have someone! Maybe it had been a sigh of love.

What's his name? she asked. She was certain he was a good male; talented just as Eorawth was. Tell me about him, she invited.
