Link

Race:: Hylian

Age:: 16

Height & Weight:: 5'10" 150

Appearance // Clothing notes:: Distinctly bears the clothes of the hero, cap included. This Link has opted to wear a tunic similar to the Hero of Twilight's, but with the exception of different pants. His scarless body is proof of his limited exposure to manual labor or dangers of most kinds.

Personality info:: This era's Link is a carefree, fun-loving, goof of a Hylian who often slacks and sometimes shirks his duties altogether to goof off with his friends. He's dismissed as an idiot by his friends most of the time, opting for slapstick of course, but is no less lovable for it--probably more so.

Era:: Current/main RP

Alignment:: Lawful good

.::BIO::.

Link grew up in a little village to the North of Hyrule castle, his parents being landowners and farmers who did fairly well for themselves and secured a seat at the Hylian assembly. Link tagged along a few times, but after he'd accidentally flipped the punch bowl for the third time it was thought best he stay home. His parents weren't so much worried about Link's safety, even as a young boy; no matter what it seemed like he was never hurt for long, no matter how far he fell. The young Hylian, who's ears were pointier than those around him, was perfectly content to play the days away at home, making quick work of chores, when he did them, to unsure maximum frolic levels.

Now eleven, Link finds himself asking the bigger questions in life: can I still fit into the same hollowed out tree trunk I did last year, should I try to carve my own shield, are girls cute instead of gross? All of these questions came to him eventually, and it wasn't as though his parents were no help at all; Link was simply in the care of the villagers most of the time. His actions speaking volumes, Link found the townsfolk often knew what he wanted just by reading his face: analgesic for bites, new shield, new strap for his slingshot, etc. It was here that Link encountered his first dungeon. With no sword he was barely able to escape. The villagers immediately held a meeting, wondering what the boy had stumbled upon. His parents were smart enough to know this talk wouldn't lead anywhere. When they'd asked the nobles they knew in castle town they were greeted with some confusion and were dismissed quickly as crazy for believing dungeons could exit in this peaceful world.

After that Link was forbidden to adventure, his parents taking the necessary step of appointing a "helper" to help the lad with his chores. Now Link and his friends had to change their focus to include tricking the poor helper so they could check out whatever secrets they knew were lurking around them. By fourteen the boy had already met his first Goron. They became friends, but Link had to wander out far past the village to meet with him. The problem was in how long this took without a horse. After saving up--a lot--Link was finally in a position to purchase one. The Hylian who sold it told Link he shouldn't be reckless, but come on... It's Link.

It was shortly after this that the village elder, in conference with the Seers of Castle Town, had determined that Link was to be told of his destiny, but with no eminent threat to the realm what could a hero do but wander? Sure, Link had fun traveling, but he couldn't help feeling he wasn't exactly being the Hero he was born to be. He shook those thoughts from his head, though, and continued to live life to the fullest out there in that sparkling field, the air an effervescent kiss. He kept the trust of the Royal Family by reporting in every once in a while; most the time the reports just degenerated into old fish stories and some yuks with the soldiers. They liked him, and offered him a spot in the service, several nice jobs, but Link respectfully declined, loving the crisp air of adventure far too much to let it go.

Now sixteen the young Hero is invited by the Royal Family to be a special guest at the grand opening of the Twilight Mirror. Such a momentous occasion is bound to bring excitement, but just what will it be? Bet our Hero will be there to find out!

Commander Ansel James

Race:: Hylian

Age:: 35

Height & Weight:: 6' 175

Appearance // Clothing notes:: Usually wears a lighter, more snappy version of the Hylian armor, and is never seen with a helmet. His white hair and young face make him easy to pick out of a crowd, but his scars are what truly makes him unique.

Personality info:: The man embodies poise and prestige. The pride he feels in his accomplishments is the shine to the burning sun that is the passion which drives him; a bottle full of lightning is the laser-knife mind of Commander James.

Era:: Current

Alignment:: Lawful neutral

.::BIO::.

Commander Ansel James started life in the same boring childhood as everyone else--well, maybe not everyone; there were haves and have-nots, and though he wouldn’t show it now or talk about it, Ansel was one of the have-nots. But for a time that wouldn’t matter. The kids who played with him didn’t know how dangerous it was to associate with someone of sub-par breeding. Hell, he didn’t even have a merchant or military legacy to run on! Instead it fell to James himself to write his own future, past, and present, his pen bending to the strength of his will and sacrifice.
For a while, though, he didn’t have his raging fire spurring his hand. He was a normal boy, playing and pretending he was a superhero all the time. His mother, sick more often than not due to poor living conditions--or at least that’s what he believes--and his father worked too much to see them as much as he wanted to--as much as anyone wanted him to. So, like any kid in this situation, Ansel became a quasi-street urchin,
And that was fun for a while, until his mother passed away. Ansel was in grade school at the time, and was being taught the usual curriculum; which included the introduction of magic and the efficacy of the goddesses alongside myths about Heroes and cataclysmic events. It was here the lonely boy was re-educated in the ways of the Hylian world. The teachers had told the class that there were those who could hear the goddesses’ voices through their pointed ears. All the children immediately lit up and couldn’t be stopped from talking about how they could hear them too. Ansel, following his parents’ instruction to say he could hear them no matter what, joined in; but this facade would only last a little while as the others eventually got it out of him.
From then on Ansel didn’t claim to be able to hear the goddesses. In fact, he went so far as to deny that they had existed at all, and by the time he was in his teens he was certain and quite vocal in his denouncement of the myths and legends regarded as sacred to the Hylian people--as well as many others from different races--as nothing more than “superstitious bedtime stories made to keep weak men weak.” What he didn’t realise, at least not right then, was that it also served in many cases to keep the strong strong; that is to say all these bourgeois telling him where to be and what to believe were only able to do so as long as they appeared where they were supposed to and believed what they were told to believe. In the scope of Ansel’s limit perspective there were kings and oppressors (angsty teen, you know) that were seemingly from and for the Crown, but beyond the periphery there were hands spinning silver-tongued lies in the night; the nobles, fashioned out of necessity in grown after the trials of war had proven too much for the shoulders of one man to bear had taken their spots under the cobbled roads and on the other side of each wall to ensure that the whole of Hyrule--the Hylian empire at least--could weather the growing pains the nation would endure after the banishment of dissenting parties and keep such dissent from resurfacing.
After a while it became clear to Ansel that there was no way to bridge the gap his unfortunate class made for him. He just wanted to be comfortable, to live a life where he and his family didn’t have to worry about disease or where their next meal was coming from. So, when he was old enough he signed up for the military: infantry. There class was still a problem, but with work Ansel could at least make something of himself. It wasn’t long before his work ethic was noticed. By the end of initiation he was rewarded with the title Kae-Reo, given to new soldiers for outstanding poise and competence.
That only carried him so far, though, as the higher-ups stuck him on regular patrol duty instead of any of the nice jobs “guarding” any of the nobles’ houses. One day things finally got interesting. A rebellion from the South had bubbled to the surface and was heading for Castle Town. Ansel’s was one of the units called out to deal with them. It wouldn’t be as simple as first thought, though, as one of the Ladies of Hyrule was traveling back on one of the main roads. Seeing this, the rebels decided to send some troops to intercept her; seeing that, Ansel decided despite himself that he would intercept them.
A battle broke out, and James’ men found they weren’t as well trained as the commanding officers of the peaceful Hylian guard had led them to believe, actually struggling to put down the rebels! Meanwhile, Ansel was on his way to secure the Duchess when a strange glowing ball shot toward the Duchess’ carriage. Ansel, unable to move in time, was hit with a curse intended for her. Next came the other rebels. In the moment of distraction caused by the attack on the Duchess, Ansel was left unable to prepare for the enemy’s blades. The scars you see now are a result of this.
When the smoke cleared, so to speak, Ansel saw his comrades and the Duchess standing over him. Because of his actions James was spoken about among the nobles, and it was decided that it would be good publicity for the King to elevate this pleb to Commander of the police force so that dissenters wouldn’t have so much fuel for any rebellious thoughts or actions. That, and she was grateful. … Kinda. New nobles have come into prominence since then, and like it or not they’re forced to acknowledge the poor Hylian who did good: Commander Ansel James. Now he patrols the streets looking for a way to further the expansion of Hyrule; ironically instilling the same staunch belief in the religion he so vehemently rejected to insure the people knew that Hyrule’s imperialism was a holy rite.

                Those in the West call him the Great Soul. Some see him late at night, when the moon is full and bright and claim that he either looks lost/remorseful or angry. They say it is a great sign of misfortune, that something is wrong, and yet those who see the Skull Kid are hailed as the most fortunate and spiritually attune of their village, in which case those often go on to become great shamen in the service of the four Great Ones who gave this land its form and continue to hold it together.

                But two souls are said to reside outside such a trivial worldview: the Moon and the One Who Chases. The Skull Kid, who is never called this by those who know of him, maintain that he is the spirit of the Moon itself, and is therefor a Great Soul, one of two who form the spiritual balance from which all comes--even the Great Ones. Although he did not understand this when the events of Majora's Mask transpired, he has since grown to appreciate and revere the power of the two forces which have spawned a religion of its own.

                In the South of the Lanayru province it is especially strong. In the areas not associated with the Gerudo history have adopted a form of ancestor worship involving masks. The idea is that when someone dies their soul is transformed into an earthly manifestation of their soul, which is called away to be with the Great Ones. To do anything at all with the original mask was to disturb the soul of the deceased and cause it unnecessary deviations on its journey into the afterlife--or simply annoy it--and so the tradition is now to make a replica of the mask to bring to and use at rituals and festivals, to keep in the house, and to celebrate as art of the highest caliber. Many Hylians, as well as other more sentient races, take their artistic skills to these tribes for a mighty fine rupee. These are the people that Skull Kid most often reveals himself to, spreading cryptic guidance across the land one legend, one prophesy, at a time.

              E r a

              B i o g r a p h y
                From the darkest corners of the human mind arose a true hate and fear, more powerful than any other; and appropriately it manifested itself in that which ends all: Demise. From this was born the nature of the world as we know: there will be creation abundant, there is the harrowing task which befalls us all to struggle on, and there is an end; just so it can start over. This is the rhythm of ages and seasons, the force which curls mountains into the sea. All will end but the end itself; and no birth should come from that which is not already destroyed.

                ... But that's another story entirely. Well, perhaps not entirely, but it isn't yet time to worry about such grim things. The life of Ganondorf was characterised by kingliness and all that went with that. It was a humbling experience, to be sure, to learn that he was the one who was identical in function--if not if being completely--with the bringer of destruction who burned his way through Hylian lands again and again until history itself was left with darkened marks. Of the three he was the first to realise his destiny. He was a little younger than Link at the time of his discovery.

                Late one summer day he was out surveying the land that would be his in a year's time, the Matriarchs of key tribes flanking him and giving notes on the land as they traveled. This was the day the sun rose on the Kingdom of the Gerudo from Legend. The trip itself was governed by Ganondorf, who took it upon himself to visit all the lands which had a spiritual significance. He knew the demographics of the land were different these days as opposed to in times of past rulers--the Gerudo land being without a king for centuries--as he was taught in school over and over by the headmistresses of the little school which bore the name of an important researcher.

                They taught him the importance of religion to groups of people; how it was used to identify them from the outside and from within, what it meant to those in the group to have something so momentous as religion to hold on to. This was, as he would learn, how the Gerudo people learned to keep their identity through a time in which they very much were not Gerudo--at least not in appearance. The genes and the economy mixed and blended with the Hylians, and soon outcroppings on the West fringe of Hylian territory became "Gerudo States," identifiable only by their unified assertion that they were somehow the same people who had long ago inhabited the desert and laid claim to my a Hylian heart and head--in love and war.

                This wasn't so different from what the indigenous populations had done; in the wake of the wars which brought the Hylians back to the center of the Hyrulean map (figuratively and literally) there was an intense profusion-- resurgence, rather--of tribes long lost to census marginalisation; after the cleansing fire had swept out the old, invasive brush, the old-new seeds of life as it was in the desert at a time before words were permanent sprouted again and began to flourish in their own modest way. From out of these seeds came a series of tribes of ancestor worshipers. These tribes had the distictive practice of using masks as a means of remembrance and communication with the deceased. They claimed to be able to speak the language of the Poe, and for the most part agreed that those of the Gerudic lineage weren't able to comprehend/were unworthy to know such a thing for it lied outside their misconceived schema of the sacred land known as Hyrule. So confident were they that theirs was the true way to honor the goddesses that Ganondorf was advised not bother trying to bargain with them and was instead told he could simply take what he wanted from these "backwards" people by force.

                In meeting with these and others Ganondorf learned much from the neighboring tribes who shared the desert as their home as well. That sun-charred day out on the Lanayru sands was the first of a long series of diplomatic meetings with the indigenous peoples of the area. At first they were taken aback by his presence, thinking him to be no different from the Hylians who had been a symbol of corruption for them for some time, but eventually his charm won them over. Mostly it was the way in which he identified with them on a personal level; rather than the divisive and tired--not to mention transparent--tactics of politicians whose main course of action was to sling mud, Ganondorf always aimed to understand the people whom he was speaking with individually. Connections were made, ideas were shared--in secret, of course--and soon enough Ganondorf found himself with an entirely different view of the land of Hyrule. No longer was this a place full of kings and destiny but a place of disparity and pain. These people were forced into the margins of history and were forgotten by all else, including his people who came out from Hylian land so long ago. Did he do this? The thought of it was enough to shake him from his naive assumptions and made the Gerudo King question the absolution of his race.

                By the time he was twenty the King made himself much more vocal around the castle. An agreement was made on that day, that Ganondorf would not infringe on any of the neighboring tribes so long as a certain allotment of land was given to his people centering around the old Desert Colossus in the Northwest portion of the province. Ganondorf would call in his advisers, taking great care to keep them busy with trivial matters so that he could study some of the old texts his new tribal comrades had pointed him toward. It wasn't long before Ganondorf knew more than the Matriarchs had planned. Now it seemed the King was filling in his own agenda; though, to be fair, it wasn't completely out of sync with the nationalistic visions they had for their growing population.

                (Saving a few flashbacks for the sake of storytelling)

                After a few years of this, taking all authority as his divine right since time immemorial, Ganondorf's Gerudo nation was a strong, unified presence in the West again. Those among the race were often lighter skinned than history might remember, seeing as the movement was caused by cultural identity rather than ethnicity initially. But, as it was, there was no reason these people, considered to be some kind of gross, watered down Hylians, weren't to be taken as Gerudo in full. It was Ganondorf who welcomed the Hylians and the rest of Hyrule into his desert dominion, and it is Ganondorf now who reaches out to the Royal Family to work through this crisis together--A Hyrule United!--as darkness descends on the entirety of the realm like a swift eclipse. ... It is here that our story begins.

Rheaus Ti 'Oro

Nickname(s) :: Prince Rheaus

Age :: 20

Race :: Oceanic Zora

Height :: 6'

Weight :: 182

Place of residence :: Gerudo River (above Lake Hylia), Deku Forest

Niche :: Noble/Pariah

Motivations :: Get his Kingdom back

Era :: Late OOT

Likes ::

* Swimming
* Sailing
* Sour things
* Being read to
* Magic shows
* Bossa Nova
* The Goddesses

Dislikes ::

* Walking
* Sweets
* Hylians
* Noble Zoras
* Keese
* Grass (feels weird to walk on, prefers moss)
* Class warfare

Strengths :: Aquadynamics
-Rheaus is no slouch when it comes to swimming, even by Zoran standards. Thanks to his time in the desert, Rheaus has toughened his fins and can also use them to glide for a short distance.

Zoran Magic
-Zora with the ability to use magic often manifest it as a field of powerful electricity which encompasses their entire body, similar to an electric eel, and Rheaus is no exception. Particularly dangerous is the way his energy clings to his large ulnar fins. This gives him a large area not only to block but to inflict severe damage--more than just the field--through direct contact. When his mana is running low the field shrinks until it barely extends past his being. Being royal, he also has the ability to use the coveted royal flame, which can melt any and all ice, though he has yet to come close to mastering it.

Poe Speak
-In his travels Rheaus encountered many poes wandering the Gerudo domain. Eventually he learned their peculiar language--the hidden one they speak amongst themselves when no one other Hyruleans are around--which has been thought to be a descendant of an old Sheikah dialect, but whenever he has asked a Sheik about it they refused to comment on it. With it he can summon poes and communicate with them--duh--and some of the phrases call forth an arcane magic long ago forgotten by most Hyrulean mages. Though he can summon such magic, he cannot wield it properly yet; all the more reason to further his education in the field.

Warrior Prince
-Prince Rheaus is extremely adept in combatives and has earned the title warrior-prince from his friends in his old camp.
Weaknesses ::

Illiterate: While being groomed to take the throne Rheaus was dictated to and as a result cannot read in any language, let alone the mysterious Zoran scripts.

Can't be out of water too long.

Is a little gullible and more than a little brash.

"I may not be the best, but a great leader never is."

"May the Goddesses be with you."

"Learn to trust what you know--and know what you trust. Nothing is more true."

Bio ::

Once the waters of the Great Bay stretched out far beyond the Desert Colossus to the land of the Poe and further still. And every inch of that water was teeming and sparkling with life. The air from the tides’ lazy breath brought forth the most beautiful sonnets and flora and other little crawling things, each with their charm, from sunrise to sunset each day. Truly, it was the most enchanted of places, and these must of have been the children of the Goddesses, closer to them than even the Hylians with their stoicism.

Far be it for the Zora of the Great Ocean to restrict themselves to Lake Hylia, sacred as it is, but instead took the doctrine most high in Zora code, to be as one with the water, the most favored medium of Nayru, and to honor Nayru with triumphs in learned wisdom. Also, to honor all the Goddesses with their solidarity with the whole of their creation is of the utmost importance to them.

And so the peaceful kingdom of the open ocean became a vital hub of culture, spirit, and economy for all to visit, for the welcoming arms of the Great Ocean Zora were long. Many of the Zora made careers as navigators, and the royal guards often pinned to one day patrol the open ocean and live out a peaceful life of directing shipping traffic. The Goron and Deku scholars and merchants flocked to the shore of the Great Bay to do good for their families and to make it or break it in the bustling metropolis. The humans brought their farms closer to the shore, and eventually the Hylians began to follow with their artisans and artists, poets and bards.

Soon it seemed like the entire map of Hyrule was drawing in to the great shore, and the castle was no exception. The crown knew that it should be the center of economy for the kingdom, and before long the difficult decision was made to leave the Temple of Time to be closer to the hot wave of economic upturn rolling into the Bay. The most noble Zoras would not stand for their kingdom being left behind, as they felt themselves to have the king’s ear. And indeed they did on most issues, but this time the king’s hands were tied for he could not move Lake Hylia. But the Sapphire could, and so the decision was made and was ratified by all members of the Great Ocean Zora parliament. The Sapphire was taken from its place at the old Lake Hylia’s temple and transfer to a desolate flat near the Gerudo Escarpment, Southwest of the New Castle Town.

The reason the Great Ocean Zoras went for the move was that they wanted to be closer to their brothers, who they never considered to be separated from. What they didn’t know was that malicious intent was driving the Noble Zoras’ moves. More specifically jealously, and in their envy the Noble Zoras resolved to assimilate the Great Ocean Zoras.

And it was a good idea. The Great Ocean Zoras had all sectors of economy down pat. The agriculture was unstoppable as wave after wave of immigrants rushed in for the fertile land overlooking the bay, and of course staying for the promise of an American Dream-esque life. The processing plants were a triumph of Zora ingenuity as being both hugely productive in refining precious metals and rubbers and things that made them indispensable in the Hyrulean economy as well as being clean, cementing their status as a safehaven for those wishing to escape the dirty practices of economies trying to compete. As a result of their appeal to the more conscientious Hyruleans, the schools in the Great Ocean area flourished like a rainforest full of flowers choreographed to all bloom at once.

From the surprisingly adept sociologists molded from would-be criminal Gerudo to the stunning scientific achievements reached by studying Poe and Re-dead flesh more closely, the greatest minds seemed to be riding the wave of eurekas rolling into the Bay. And of course the artists came nest, with their thirst for culture only to be quenched by the cool ocean breeze and the rich, if not a tad bitter, Goron coffee. They were mostly human and Hylian, though they say it takes all kinds. And if the Hylians weren’t artists they were most likely magicians, wowing crowds with magic bestowed upon them from knowledge of sacred scrolls as well as trips to the Great Fairy Fountain nearby, which the Great Ocean Zoras so kindly left open for the public to come and learn from the Fairy, if they were worthy.

The Great Ocean Zoras had built marvels of technology. Their water treatment plant was a triumph of engineering, and allowed for mass desalination. Soon the homes of immigrants became permanent. Along with this was the mining facility, which was revived from days of old to bring the seas back to certain areas without disrupting the territory of the Gerudo. This was the first move the Zoras made.

From their new Temple the Noble Zoras began trying to influence the Great Ocean Zoras and otherwise convince them of the fact that all Zoras should live close to the Sapphire. The Great Ocean Zora respectfully declined. The Noble Zoras, however, had another card to play. They went to the king, and bent his ear. They had convinced the king of Hyrule that the Great Ocean Zoras were a threat economically and that the only way to secure a power like that for the crown would be to have a change in control from a democracy that served the Goddesses to a Nobility that would serve the kingdom.

The king agreed, but did not want the land to be taken by force. He was still a benevolent king for the most part, and it was important that his subjects respect him. (He also wanted to keep the Fountain on tap for his army.) A Zora people ravaged by war wouldn’t, so he formed a new plan. The current king of the Zoras had three sons, and the king of Hyrule decided that it would be best to introduce their royalty into the Great Ocean Domain. So with the help and agreement of both parties, for their own reasons, the king granted the youngest of the sons to the Great Ocean Zoras in exchange for building a means of easy transit in and out of their domain, an embassy near the Bay, and complete transparency of parliamentary actions from the Zoras.

It also went without saying that the Great Ocean Zoras held an audience with the king on two fronts now, the economic front and the nobility front. This did not sit well the Noble Zoras, who wanted to see the Great Ocean Zoras as below them, not equal or even greater. So, rather than wait for the king to act, the Noble Zoras took matters into their own hands. They knew that the mines were a cornerstone of their economy, and made a pact with some of the Gerudo nearby. Full citizenship for anyone who brings the king a timestone from the Lanayru mines. The king said that his plan with them was to reopen the old Lake Hylia, and it wasn’t necessarily a lie, for they needed more resources if they were going to compete with a people who had an ocean at their disposal. But they knew the Zoras of Great Bay could only turn the desert into sea if they had the timestones. The more they took, the more their empire would shrink and the more the Noble Zora could expand.

Phase two of the plan was not to put the blame on the Gerudo when the Great Ocean Zoras asked about the timestones missing, but rather to put the blame on the Deku and Goron, saying the Deku wanted to expand their marshland, and the Goron wanted to restore some of the springs to their former glory.

The Great Ocean Zora were livid, and with legions of the king’s armies set out to punish the greed of the Goron and Deku. When asked why they would do such a thing, the Great Ocean Zora simply replied, “You know what you’ve done.” And they retaliated, pulling out of the Great Bay economy all together and launching a joint assault on their former trading partners. The Goron, with their mighty warriors, were one thing, but the Deku trappers assisting in the fight added a new layer of strategy and craftiness to the “anti-oppression” forces.

“Brothers! Help us!” They cried out to their brothers, but their cries for help in the war were only answered with the cold swish of steel through the air. Arrows, swords, maces, all the refined killing tools of the more warlike Noble Zoras were unleashed in a time when the Great Ocean Zora least expected it and were most vulnerable, taking full advantage of their trust and trampling the gates of the peaceful empire.

In the commotion the Great Ocean Zoras only had time to take the young prince out of the area. They sent him out on a ship into the desert with a timestone, so that he could sail quickly, but not be easily caught or tracked. It was here that he learned the hard way to survive: looking out for bandits in the day, and fighting off Poes at night. He became hardened, and his resolve was no longer that of a boy, but that of a king with no crown.

Eventually he won over a group of Gerudo, wishing to end the war so that they could return to university. They ended up attracting a small weapons stash from soldiers fighting near the escarpment, for the Gerudo knew the cavernous walls of the land better than anyone, and were able to start a rebellion force.

The rebellion found tracks when a Goron group was intercepted on their way to deliver goods to their comrades on the front lines. Rather than killing them, the Prince and his troupe told them that the Great Ocean Zoras did not want the war to start in the first place. At first they didn’t believe them, but they started to notice certain marks on the boy that were characteristic of battle, and at once they believed he had been ejected out of the Bay.

These Goron were more devout to the temple, and believed the doctrine of the Goddesses just as the Great Bay Zoras did. So, it wasn’t long before word began to spread to the south, the Kokiri people promising to keep playing dumb, as kids are so good at, and the Deku closest to the Forest Temple promising a safe place for the rebels and a marshland to give the Zora Prince enough water to thrive in.

And so it was that the war had divided itself not into states but God Vs. country, and the third son of King Ralis found himself on the side of the dying divine. But the resolve of those who hold the law of the Goddesses is strong, and it would take more than what they were doing to keep the Prince from bringing peace to the Zora people.

And that’s exactly what the Noble Zoras did, more. They pressured the Zora of the Great Bay until they broke and told them they’d sent the boy out into the desert. From there it was only a matter of time until they’d retraced the Prince’s steps. After the torture of some of the Deku of the Lost Woods, they had found their way to the Forest Temple.

The rebels were ready for a fight, but not for the full forces of the new Zora-Hyrule joint army. With magic and more experienced fighters on their side, as well as numbers, the rebels were easily crushed. Many died, but a few from each species were allowed to live because of their ties to their respective temples. And the Prince was allowed to live as well, not because of his significance, as it would be easier for the other sons of Ralis to inherit the throne without him, but because it would be far more humiliating to make a traitor live in shame. So, the Noble Zoras took the boy, and with the help of the magic of the most skilled Hylian magis, opened a portal to a realm with a well known slave market.

This is where the story begins. What will Prince Rheaus do now?

RP Sample ::

A crash through the double door of the aquatic floor of the slave market shook the attention of many away from what they were doing and brought it the shouting of a young Zora in the grip of a Goron and another Zora soldier. A Hylian legionnaire strode behind in judicial fashion, not looking at the slaves and not blinking at the scum who would own them.

Indeed he despised the idea of the slave market, which is why he relished the thought of this treasonous prince being cooped up in this place and later subjected to the perverse will of some other being he would no doubt consider less than himself. He was mildly impressed, despite himself, at the tidiness with which the place was run. Such a hive, so clean! He could hardly believe it.

There was a manager at the center and a few feet above the rows of tanks and damp padded rooms, and the captain surmised that this was the right place for the little miscreant, and also that there was a sort of laissez faire government here as the sellers seemed to drop in periodically, the bustle keeping the time between those periods short, and taking good care of the enclosures and the enclosed.

"That makes sense," he said aloud.
"What does, Cap'n?" Asked Deumo-Goro, who liked to take wisdom from the captain like a wandering horse in a lawn waiting for apples to hang low.

"The masters are just sellers, watch, their coming to take care of their products." He said it without looking, as he was just that kind of snooty.

"I see what you mean, Cap'n! They're right smart with their assets I reckon."

At this the Zora captain chimed in. He was walking behind all of them, and had scooted up to the front of the procession.

"Which is the problem, Goro. We don't need the princess in a nice tank... He needs to know true humiliation." His face was an inch away from the Prince's when he said this last part, but the young Zora was determined not to acknowledge him.

"Trust me, boy, there is no way for you to know happiness now, so why not embrace it? Unbridled misery! Isn't it grand?"

"These cages, tanks, whatever else that is," he said pointing to a marsh enclosure, "are entirely too good for you."

"What you need is a nice, dry, hot place. A place where all those nights in the desert would have seemed like a frozen hell had you not stolen a timestone for your trip; a place where the muck and fungus will comfort your skin with the affection of acid; a place where ever shadow, every guilty glance tightens an invisible hand around your throat, waiting for you to wish for death to let go." The whole time he was walking, now leading the group, he was heading for a vent at the far right corner of the floor. It appeared to be a heating vent.

Underneath it sat a decrepit old cell. It had water in it once, or at least the ceiling had a leak, because there were musty old puddles on the floor. The gates made a line of red snow on the ground as the rust flew off them on their opening. They made the worst sound imaginable as they closed.

More yelling and wailing could be heard in an incomprehensible and haunting language. It eventually died with the laugh of the Zora captain piercing through the young prince's heart. He knew there was no way out for him now. His head hung, and he watched from the top of his sight as the new king of the Zoras walked off with the new chieftain of the Goron and the knew general of Hyrule, all of them godless bastards.

He looked up at the flag they carried. It was the Lanayru providence symbol turned upside down, and it confirmed that the new state these Zoras came from was one with no regard for the Goddesses. The prince turned away in time to hear the entrance doors shutting again, and found himself looking at a puddle, found himself staring at a slave wearing the same perverse crest around his neck as those militants. He spat at ripped off the collar and threw it across the cell.

Then he sat there, looking at stone and how foreign and cold it looked, trying to make it look like the rocks of the castles he knew and failing miserably.
This is it... This place... Is my home. No...
This is no home. Look at these people, listen to them!
I was in line to be king! ... Now I'm in line to be owned.

What the hell am I supposed to do? I could have stayed
at the camp at home. It wasn't such a bad life... But this... I can't even.

Whats your character's name?: Sora Yuudai

What's you character's nickname? (If any): Klutz

How old is your character?: 16

When was your character born?: 7/8 (July 8th)

What is your character's gender?: Male

What is your character's Sexuality?: Hetero

Who is your character sided with? (Alignment or group? If any): None at the moment

What is your character's nationality? (If any can be realistic or Fantesy based): Japanese

What is your character's race?: Tatzelwurm

What's your username?: Cotton Shorts Kid

What is the color of your character's aura/energy? (If any): Orange

What is your character's biggest strength/What do they excel at?: Stumbling through obstacles--figuratively and literally

What is your character's biggest weakness/Where are they lacking?: Skill-heavy actions, public speaking, most things, really...

What special and/or sentimental items is your character carrying? (If any):

Eagle Board: It's a board that's roughly shaped like a wing or a feather. Allows Sora to use his latent/residual magic to glide; it is aided by strong air currents for more long-distance travel. Threshold of stage 1 mana (will update this in posts).

Turnarounder: This item is a small medallion Sora wears. With it, he may (once per battle for 3 posts) completely turn his horrible luck (that is to say clumsiness) around.

Lightning in a Bottle: A potion developed by his mother to even the odds in a fight, this brew ups Sora's speed and coats him in a super-charged aura (think Gambit from X-Men) that will discharge if it comes into contact with organic matter in the form of lightning/electricity and as an explosion of the user hits anything else. Unfortunately, this does not take away Sora's clumsiness. Lasts 3 turns; ups 1 stage of mana.

{More to come~}

What weapons does your character carry/have/use? (If any):

None. Avoids fighting.

What armor does your character wear/use? (If any):

None.

What powers does your character have? (If any):

Water divination: If there's water within a five mile radius, Sora can sense it.

Storm Conjure: Though not adept--actually, he's practically worthless--Sora, thanks to his dragon genes, can work up a mean sprinkle from the heavens... (storms last 5 posts; spends two stages of mana to use)

Illusions (Tatzelwurm only): With the power of suggestion, images and sensations can be imprinted on the mind of the target. Target may break illusions if their magical power exceeds Sora's; require's contact with claws or fangs--claws will cause illusions more along the lines of visions; fangs will promote fabricated sensations, mostly--lasts 3 turns per stage of power; requires threshold of 2 stages.

Healing Factor (saliva): Sora is able to lick his wounds to heal... Cannot heal severe wounds, but will take care of minor cuts in a matter of seconds. 1 Stage threshold required.

Barrier: Can repel minor magical attacks/energy with this shield. Also enable Sora to float around and breath underwater. Lasts 5 turns; stage 3 threshold.

Transformation (Split): Thanks to lucky genetics, Sora can transform into any of these three forms:

    Neko: under the light of the moon, the bakeneko form is available to Sora.

    Weak to fire, physically weak; agile with healing saliva and minor magical barrier.

    Dragon: under sunlight, the wings of a small dragon are his to command.

    Weak to lightning and frost, slower; stronger physically, high heat tolerance.

    Tatzelwurm: in the between-times (dawn and dusk) our hapless one can transform into the lithe and lethal (kinda) Tatzelwurm, with traits of both.

    Storm Conjuring is boosted; gains illusion magic; weak to most metals; cannot heal.

    Transformations require a stage 2 threshold of mana, but have no time limit.

What is your character behave/act?: Sora is very timid and shy. This has been the case recently, as his clumsy disposition has led him to many embarrassing situations over the years. His furtive gaze downward is sometimes betrayed by his warm, friendly smile, however; since he was little, he had been taught--by parents and life--that it was better for him to go through life with a gentle, nurturing disposition. In short, the lad just wants to make friends.

And when he does? He comes out of his shell and blossoms into an effervescent gag-reel of a young man. In this, he is prone to becoming something of a clown among his friends, even when surrounded by strangers. This is the same boy who will gladly do anything for his friends, out of love and respect and the fact that he needs constant approval.

What is a quote that your character would say/use?:

"Better luck next time..."

Exactly how tall/short is your character?:

5'7"

Exactly how much does your character weigh?:

130lbs

What is your character's eye color?:

Grey

Where was your character born?:

Sapporo, Japan

What is your character's main theme song? (If any):

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones -- The Impression That I Get

What is your character's battle theme song? (If any):

Deadmau5 -- FML

(If people are fighting, whose theme do they choose? 0.o)

What is your characters story?:

The sun of a stately, cunning dragon (it should be said that the great Jorokaine's merchant fleet was the stuff of legend in his region and to those with an eye for a job well done. Most of the trails of this old empire have gone cold thanks to the ruthless and calculating ways of Jorokaine. Fortunes have been spent trying to garner the favor of these dragons whose specialty was weaving wishes into reality as much as to find the vanishing fleet. This chase had come to a head and the dragon had vanished, leaving only a trail only his most loyal, trusted clients could follow...) and a powerful bakeneko (... for, you see, it was not a thing the dragon could keep hush-hush for long, this business of making dreams come true, and so a militant and ruthless 'neko--who was the head of a precise army of mercenaries--caught the scent of treasure from Jororaine. Her name was Miyu, and her magic and skill were absolute despite her svelte frame--also that few expected such a thing from her species. When she got wind of the money being raked in by the Jorokaine group, she decided to elevate herself--yes, her goal was to rule the country, but this required funds along with clout--and the dragon soon found himself being stalked like prey...), the young Tatzelwurm has transitioned to life slowly. In the old village, there was hardly a day spent in just one dimension. It was always "C'mere, Sora! Close the interdimensional gate behind you!"

Eventually there came a time, though (the two had seen that their union was that of power--it was this from the beginning, and believe me when i say the dragon was scared to death when he learned that his men had been getting picked off at the departure points of several villages lining the countryside--in fact, it was battle that finally brought the two face-to-face--and so they saw power as their legacy and something they very much wanted to see from their son), when the boy's power would begin to flourish and a new heir to their hidden empire would emerge; they waited, even tested him vigorously, and in desperation consulted an oracle, whose crypticism failed to set them at ease...

So, taking a different route, perhaps the only route left to take, the two had decided to enroll Sora in a normal school. Sora, of course, hated the idea. Humans were fun, but scary to him. It was a pass time of his, to watch people through vacant window panes in the larger cities (this was, as one could imagine, thanks to the dimensional abilities of the one appointed to guide little Sora through his training and grooming--every prodigy needs good help. The two of them had become best friends... At least, that's how Sora saw it. Day in, day out: the two had found a way to "play," but it was during this time that Akio the Tannuki wished the master's heir would take things seriously--laughter is often the best defense against embarrassment...); he always thought they looked so funny--holding glowing blocks to their heads, clawing into shiny oxen, casting arrows from their fingers...--and once, when he made the observation that Akio reminded him of the people he saw, learned what it meant to alienate a friend. It was odd to him that he could look into these worlds with such ease... --he felt like a ghost, dontcha know?-- ... in the city it was the future everywhere; in the country villages he was in the old periods talked about with such fondness by mother and father; in between were worlds with stars as eyes and numbers so, and in these were things that were without time for they had shapes of the future and warm, sepia memories of the past, or something in between that made him feel like he was dreaming more often than not.

--He had become very playful because of all this. It's just how things go: after so long in these dreamlike worlds a person begins to think they're invincible. In any event, pranks and foolishness--boyhood, I mean--were aided by this feeling, and the heir became a burden, not because he was too wild, but that they weren't sure about the future they were investing in...--

--and when that route didn't work, Miyu and Jorokaine decided it best to stick with tutoring. As luck would have it, however, word of an academy for the gifted, the special, the supernatural reached their ears...

Sora entered his first day not knowing what to expect. Sure, he was used to what others expected of him, but he couldn't bring himself to expect anything of others except that they'd be willing to goof off with him. We join our clumsy, eager-to-please, timid little draco-cat in checking into his dorm. What adventures await the young Tatzelwurm!?
