Layla watched Lit with a bemused smile after they stared at her forever. 'They're cute, almost like a shy puppy,' Layla thought. But no one likes to be compared to a puppy, so she kept that one to herself. Besides, someone would take that the wrong way. She wasn't interested in them romantically, or anything. But why were they staring so much? Either they were mesmerized by her striking beauty, or they were feeling really uncomfortable. While she thought that she was gorgeous, most people thought that she was terrifying-- not that it was incorrect of them to think so. Thus, she assumed the latter. Making people comfortable wasn't one of her strengths, but she could at least try to be more friendly... Try.
After Lit finally responded, she told them with a small chuckle in her voice, "We'll see what happens then. Okay?" She opened the door and held it slightly for them to catch it. Instead of leading the way and saving talk for the restaurant, she decided to walk beside them on the sidewalk. Her car was parked outside on the side of the building. In the meantime, she could try her luck at small chat.
"So what would you be doing around this time on a normal day, Lit? Why don't you tell me a little about yourself?"

xxxxxLIT XOUS xxxxxxx► "After-hours... meeting...? Oh? Oh! Oh. Right. Haha." xxx___________________________________
That was laughter, right?! That was definitely laughing! A flare of indignation blazed through Lit's train of thought just long enough for them to register the emotion.
But anyway. Lit found it awkward for Layla to be walking beside them, especially given that as Layla was significantly taller than them, Lit had to stare straight up into the sun in order to not look like a piece of s**t who couldn't make eye contact when speaking. "Uh, well, I guess usually I'd be at the computer? Blogging and writing and stuff. I usually don't really get out until the afternoon." Lit shrugged. The street scene worked in mysterious ways, and usually after lunch. Probably due to how the street scene initially emerged from a gaggle of students. "What about you? What do you usually - oh wait, You actually have a stable daytime job so I guess that's already obvious, hahaha... A-anyway, where are we headed? I wanna look it up on Y*lp. Get a feel for what it's like."
The awkwardness almost killed Lit, but then, they were saved by the bell. Or rather, saved by the text alert from their pager app on their phone, that they downloaded because apparently somebody in the hierarchy never learned that smartphones and K*k were all the rage with the kiddies now. "After-hours... meeting...? Oh? Oh! Oh. Right. Haha." For a brief moment, Lit almost forgot they were part of the mob.

Maybe walking beside Lit wasn't the best idea. They were really short, especially compared to her. Layla had to crane her neck down to meet their eyes. They seemed to be struggling to do the same, their neck craned in the exact opposite direction as they spoke.
Layla listened with some interest. "Staying in all morning must be nice," she said and sighed. Lit was right; all she did was work. Even on some weekends.
"Oh, I wanted to keep lunch a surprise, but I suppose it doesn't matter much," she said with feigned disappointment as she pulled out her phone to glance at the same message that Lit received. Lit was slightly confused before realizing that the text was referring to a Kuro Gang meeting. "Oh, good. Finally something interesting, hopefully. We haven't been out lately," she commented vaguely. "Anyway, it's called Durem Bistro. It's one of my favorite cafes in the area. They know me by name," she informed them.
Her car came came into view in the parking lot ahead. "Here," she said before clicking the automatic button on her car keypad. A black Mercedes Benz blinked, signaling that it was unlocked. Layla opened the driver's door and stepped into the car. She tossed her items in the back seat and buckled up, starting the car afterward.
