Ryuukei Takeshi


Everyone had to start somewhere, and for Ryuukei Takeshi, it started in the academy. Paired off to face each other in mock combat, they were required to display their skills, to prove they were worthy of being called Ninja and graduating to the rank of Genin.

He had planned to keep it simple going into battle, opening with a Shuriken Barrage. His hand carefully made it's way to the shuriken pouch, moving with care not to expose his tactics. The last thing he wanted was to tip off his opponent and leave his attack predicted and defeated. With all the quickness he could muster, he threw the shuriken, a rain of flying metal heading for his fellow student.

Ryuukei Takeshi


His aim was on, heading straight for his foe, but the opponent had skill of his own, able to dodge or deflect most of the attacks coming his way. Only one actually struck, hitting Kyo in a non-critical area, nothing that could drastically turn the tide in favor of Ryuukei, but at least he had drawn first blood. Now, he had to focus on taking his opponent down entirely. What was his next move going to be?

"Clone jutsu!" Ryuukei called, creating an illusionary double to help his odds. The clone might be nothing more then air, but it served a distraction to help him set up a better chance of success. Grabbing a Kunai, he planned to use it in his next attack, to follow up with an extra attack should Kyo manage to stop Kunai.

Shuriken Barrage (100 damage) + dice roll of 3 (+50) =150 damage

The attack had gone so smoothly, his clone moving in for the first attack, Kyo having no choice but to treat it as a very real threat. To save the clone, Ryuukei didn't allow it to simply be struck and dissipate, but use the distraction to fire his kunai, striking Kyo in the leg. The wince of pain from the fellow student when he was struck was worrisome, but it was cases like those that proved why having a medical ninja on staff was essential. They would get him fixed right up.

So Ryuukei still had his clone around to help him out, and he planned to make use of it again. last time he attacked with Shuriken, he hadn't gotten the ideal result he was looking for, but this time, he had someone to help him out, in the form of his illusionary twin. Hands to his shuriken pouch again, he let loose another barrage, confident this time would go better then the last.

His opponent was just as determined as he was to win the battle, striking back at the same time that Ryuukei did, each inflicting their wounds on the other. Ryuukei's shuriken found their mark, littering Kyo's thighs and lower torso with wounds, while shuriken belonging to the opponent had struck Ryuukei, though not quite as many. He was willing to accept the damage, if it meant scoring a more significant win against his foe. Wounds healed all the same, but having them as a Genin would make them far more easily forgotten then the pain of loss.

Readying another kunai, Ryuukei made himself ready to strike, sending his weapon flying, while his clone, still a drain on his chakra, made itself useful in distraction, darting about, switching positions with the real Ryuukei enough times to make determining the real deal nearly impossible. All Ryuukei needed now was for his weapon to strike true, and to bring him a surefire victory.

Another excellent hit struck the enemy in the shoulder, a crippling blow that, while not the end of the battle, certainly signaled that it was nearing. He was sure he had the enemy on the ropes now, though not without paying a great deal himself. Ryuukei had to dispel his clone, his chakra reserves almost out entirely. From here on out, he had only two options to consider; attack head-on, and hope he was able to finish the job without the use of any jutsu, or stall the battle, and take some time to recover his power for one final attack.

"Almost done," he said, engaging his foe in conversation. Kyo had to be feeling worn out as well, so he might have been willing to take the bait on talking, thinking it was to his own advantage to recover a bit of stamina, build up some chakra. Ryuukei simply intended for it to mean more to him then his foe.

Ryuukei Takeshi


Kyo, like a shark smelling blood in the water, didn't take the bait, didn't rest up for himself. instead, he rushed Ryuukei, striking him back while he attempted to conserve and rebuild his Chakra. Though he could feel the energy pulse up inside of him, it came at cost to his body, which was flung back by the force of a powerful punch, dragging him along the ground until he came to a stop. Breath ragged, Ryuukei pulled himself up, resolving not to allow such a thing to happen again. he had to finish this, and he had to do it now.

"Clone jutsu!" he called out, restoring his clone partner to help him once more. With the strength he had built up, he still only had the power for one clone and one attack, so he had to make it count. A single kunai was effective, but a wave of Shuriken would increase the odds of success for less effort. Armed with that knowledge, Ryuukei let his throwing stars fly, his aim never more important then it was now.

The final shuriken from his pouch found their mark, not only hitting Kyo, but with enough finality to knock the other student over, laying him flat on his back. With the teacher stepping forward to confirm that Kyo was both still alive and unable to continue, she signaled towards Ryuukei, declaring the victory his. The smallest of smiles formed on his lips, the small celebration he allowed himself before his knees gave weigh, his body slumped over, giving out under the exhaustion he had suffered. He had won the battle, and he was sure to feel like a winner when it was done, but after expending so much chakra in the quest for victory, there was no way he could stand and gloat about it.

Gloating would just have to come later, when he was conscious again. For now, rest would help him rebuild his worn-out chakra while a Medical ninja took care of fixing his body.
