Akane appeared in front of Janus. "Hello Janus." She said. She took off her captains coat and flash stepped to a nearby rock and placed it on a rock. She then Flash Stepped back and her sword was out and pointing at Janus. "I am ready whenever you." Her yellow eyes glaring into Janus as she said this.

Janus stopped stretching and started to bend down to pick up his weapon, but thought better of it and stood back up again. He started muttering a kido incantation under his breath, then pointed both palms out and fired a Hado #4 Byakurai straight at her.

She smirked and shunnpoed to the left. The Kido spell brushed past her arm, slightly cutting her. She then threw her sheath at Janus. "Hado 1 Sho." She whispered as a weak blast came out of the tip of her sword and caused her sheath to break into hundreds of pieces, trying to blind Janus. She then appeared above him. "Hado 31 Shakkahō." She whispered. She fired a giant crimson orb of firry energy and Janus.

Janus threw his arm up in front of him to catch the sheath when it exploded, catching him by surprise. He noticed the incoming blast at the last minute and dove backwards to avoid it, getting blown a bit further than he planned and landing unceremoniously on his tailbone. He got to his feet, rubbing his bruised butt and looking to see what Akane was doing now.

There was a cloud of smoke all around Akane. She leaped so fast towards Janus that a hole opened up in the middle of smoke. She then jumped in the air right before she got to him and held out her sword towards Janus. "Hado 28 Gaki Rekkō." A circle of energy that was green came out of the tip of her sword and fired at Janus in a cage like formation. She then did a back flip and landed on her right hand and did another back flip, finally landing on her feet. She was obviously trying to create some distance between them so that she could use Kido. She needed to work on her Hado spells because they weren't as strong as other Captains. "Janus, I know that wasn't strong enough to even damage you." She said as her yellow eyes peered threw the smoke between the two.

Seeing the beams of light firing in a spray like pattern toward him, he turned his body sideways to reduce the vulnerable area. Concentrating, he moved slowly forward using crossover steps while making slight movements to dodge the beams that would hit him; all the while considering his next move. They call Janus slow, and he is slow. His slowness taught him patience, and how to study intently. She seemed to want to use kido to fight, and his own kido is somewhat lacking. He muttered the words to another spell. He would simply use his favorite, slow method: passive observation. He pointed his palms at the ground just in front of her and fired another Byakurai. Instead of rushing through the smokescreen to attack, he waited and watched. He wanted to know whether she would fight or flee. Is her first instinct to defend or retaliate. It's important to learn her default response.

She jumped to her left side, avoiding the attack and jumping outside of the smokescreen. She held then ran towards Janus with her zanpaktou in her left hand. She raised it up to her chest and then flash stepped towards Janus. She appeared in front of Janus and then disappeared again. She knew that he was slower than her and that she could use her speed to her advantage, but he was a slower so that meant his attacks were slightly more strong probably. She hid her reiatsu and then encased him with clones of herself. They really weren't clones, she was just moving so fast that after images of her where left behind.

It isn't the job of an artist to create,

Dodge then charge. She's confident on the offensive, but only when she isn't at a disadvantage. He met her charge with a step in reverse. He moved his left leg back, bent his right knee to put his body low, and extended his right arm toward the lower left of her ribcage. Had she not dodged away, his hand would have cracked her ribs using the force of her own speed. This was his preferred method of combat. Moving quickly to strike hard and achieve a decisive victory is malapropos to his nature, something unusual in shinigami. Rather than acknowledge his weakness and failings then train to overcome them, he decided he didn't really mind his weaknesses and resolved to fight as befit his nature. His backward philosophy extends to every aspect of his combat ability, from his fighting style to his bankai.

It doesn't matter if it's something physical or emotional, existing in the world or the mind.
To take what exists and show it for what it can be is my reason for living.

At once, all of the after images disappeared and she was crouched underneath him. She then sliced upwards at his chin with her zanpaktou. While slicing, she purposely let her reiatsu flow threw the blade in order to increase the length of it and to make it sharper. "Hado 11 Tsuzuri Raiden." She whispered quietly. Her zanpaktou was now electrified. She wasn't holding back because it was a fellow captain, it would be a disgrace to who she was and it would also offend Janus. "I am having fun Janus, how about you?" she asked.

His left hand, held near his body, shot up to slap aside the weapon. Upon touching the electrified blade a spark ran between her blade and his hand, sending him flying back from the shock. He tumbled through the air but landed on his feet a couple meters away, rubbing the new burn on his hand. He smiled at her words."Exercise and good company is always enjoyable." Said Janus before muttering a quick spell. A yellow rope of energy shot out not at Akane, but toward his weapon lying on the ground. With a sharp tug, the weapon was pulled through the air to him. "I think I'll have to do at least this much to be a good challenge. Create, Aardefee!" His katana glowed white, then changed into a six foot staff. He laid the staff across his shoulder and waited for Akane's response.

It doesn't matter if it's something physical or emotional, existing in the world or the mind.

When he fired the spell, she jumped a little bit. She had thought that he was going to hit her but it went right past her at his Zanpaktou. She watched as he released his Zanpaktou and was amazed at the size of the staff. "This is where the fun begins." she said the Janus. She smirked and then put her Zanpaktou in front of her with both hands. "Like you, I have a staff like Shikai." She stated as her Zanpaktou was growing vibrant red. Steam was coming off of her Zanpaktou as it reshaped itself into a Nagata. "Hantai suru hito subete o bōtoku Gunshin, Hachiman." She whispered as the glowing and growing to stop to reveal a 8 foot long Nagata with a very sharp sword tip. Each side of the sword tip had a dove on them carrying a decapitated head. "Come Janus." She said with a stern voice.
