Mekurukito Rikutoshifu and The Angel's Grace

The year is SDE 2525. In the year 3225, humanity on Terra discovered FTL travel through space, using pocket space and warp tunnels called Bridges. This technology wasn't perfected enough to equip to individual ships, except of the largest and most powerful classifications. Most ships had to use a phase shift station which most pilots called Gates. Through this technology, human kind expanded their reach to new places.
The technology wasn't made without need, however. In the year 2025, the Coalition of Axis launched an all out nuclear holocaust on any and all other nations that did not conform completely to their views. The Unity of Allies was able to defend themselves from the nuclear missile threat, but any nation that was not sufficiently advanced suffered vast amounts of nuclear radiation and destruction. The world was nearly instantaneously sent into a perpetual winter. The Allies responded with maximum force, and soon the entire arsenal of nuclear weaponry that the world had stockpiled had been depleted, sending the world into darkness.
The surface proved to be harsh, and nearly inhospitable. There were survivors that hid themselves beneath the ground where the radiation couldn't reach. There were also others that had escaped the holocaust before the war had even broken out, escaping into bio-domes on Mars and Selena in early space colonization attempts.
It was a thousand years before the planet had lost enough radiation for those underground to emerge safely. The world still bore the damage that it had sustained from the bombs dropping. It was a long time until the world returned to a semblance of civilization.
In the year 3220, man had reestablished contact with the colonies off world. They had thrived far better than the ones on Terra. But Terra was failing fast. The world, with its return to civilization, could no longer support the population that it was growing. In only a few years, the entire planet would die off from disease, famine, and dehydration.
Working together, the two colonies and the survivors of earth started developing ways to travel to new places. In 3223, they had their first major breakthrough, developing a ship that could achieve luminal speeds in a zero gravity vacuum, at a rate better than that believed by the greatest minds from before the war. It allowed for travel between the colonies and Terra, and work proceeded at a faster rate after that.
In 3226, when the food stores of Terra were beginning to falter, the first successful foray into pocket space was developed. Only a few months after that, the quantum tunneling theory allowed for a successful entry and exit of warp tunnels. A colony ship was built with all haste, taking two years for completion.
Had they had more time, they might have probed likely planets first, but they had run out of time. The food stores had run out. Despite the dangers associated with untested technologies on a mass scale, and the other dangers of not even being aware of where they were headed, volunteers flocked to the colony ship in droves.
Fortune was with them, and the colony voyage was an unmitigated success. In the closest star system or Andromeda, the first colony of humans outside of the Milky Way, was started. With a greater range and more area, and now a way to expand to new stars every day, the human population boomed. The era of space had started. By the year 3300, the calendar of Terra had been replaced by the Space Date calendar.
Now humans span across the universe, though they haven't discovered any new sentient species of life, they rediscovered old species among themselves.

The year is SDE 2525. There are very few forms of government left, instead the galaxies are ruled by corporations, though the few forms of government that run their own galaxies are not ones to be trifled with, not even the biggest of corporations wanting to look at them funny. Mercenary work is a major business practice for many. Bounty hunting is equally as prolific, though the bounty hounds often get into bloody scraps with mercenaries on which is more profitable. The most feared mercenary group in the known universe is known as the Bounty Hounds, a group of mercenaries trained by the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy.
Inversion Corporation, Titans Co-op, and Universis Manufacturing are the largest corporations. Combined though, they still feared the Cartaxian Empire, the largest remaining governmental body.

{Mekuru's voice} My name Mekurukito Rikutoshifu, i am a bounty hunter from the planet Karus. I consider myself one of the best due to my military training, my trusty shield; the Shield of Celestia, and my Faithful Consummate Solaris Fire SMG. I do not know much about my target but her name: Angel. I have snuck aboard her ship and quietly made my way to the cockpit, aiming my gun at her head...

Angel had taken off from the port on Avoca without any real trouble. The resupply hadn't taken long at all. She had just exited the atmosphere when she noticed that something was wrong. Behind her, she heard the door hiss as it opened into the cabin. In another situation, she might have paid this no attention, but this was her ship, and she was supposed to be the only one aboard. "Bloody mercs. They never learn," she muttered under her breath. Her voice was calm, even though she could see him raising his gun in the reflection of the dozen reflective surfaces on her control board. With an heir of nonchalance, she turned off the artificial gravity and internal inertial dampeners, before opening the full thrust of her engines, instantly sending the ship into light speed.

I see her turn off the artificial gravity. "Well... Slag.." I'm sent flying back, hitting the wall hard, my shield eating the damage for me. "Ow! The hurt..."  

[Ragereaper]

The moment that the mercenary was sent to the back f the ship, Angel turned the intertial dampners back on, releasing the pressure that had pinned her to her couch. Releasing her restraining belt, she kicked off the control board, sending her free floating towards the back of her ship.
"I'm surprised that you yet live," she commented casually as she pushed herself forward. "That trick usually works on the stupid ones."
She didn't hesitate as she drew a pistol and aimed at his head. "Now explain quickly why I shouldn't end you?" she asked as she viewed him upside down. She didn't worry about his gun. It was floating free, a few feet away from him.

I groan in pain. "Ahhh..." I see the gun in her hand. "That's a nice gun ya got there. What is that? A Titan? Not bad. Mine is a Tri-Fect." I get up with my hands in the air. "Ok I'll be honest. My name is Mekurukito Rikutoshifu, i know it's a mouthful to say, so you can call me 'Mekuru' for short. I'm a bounty hunter from the planet Karus and was assigned a Target named 'Angel'."  

[Ragereaper]

Angel watched him dispassionately as he tried to rise, sending himself spinning into the center of the corridors. It was clear that he did not operate often in Zero G. Leaving him stranded there would be the simple option. She briefly considered spacing him and being done with it, but she was tired of these damned mercenaries always chasing her. It was time that she figured out who it was hiring these morons. After that, she could easily figure out why
"Okay, Mekirishi," she said, ignoring his offered nickname. "I am the mercenary known as The Angel's Grace. Congratulations. You found me." She holstered her pistol. She wouldn't have fired it in the ship anyway. The shot would have gone straight through the ship's side and caused major problems for both of them. "I'm going to try and be civil with you for now, but you're going to answer questions, or I'm going to set you off on the side of the current trajectory and make you walk to the nearest planet." She cocked her head to the side and crossed her arms. "Are we at an understanding?"

I stop myself from spinning, getting used to the Zero gravity. "We have an understanding." I reach out and grab my gun, then strap it to my side. "Don't worry, I ain't gonna shot ya. So what kind of questions are we talking about?" I then remembered the name she gave me. "Wait... Did you just call me 'Mekirishi'?"  

[Ragereaper]

"Good," she states simply before keying a device on her arm. Gravity returns instantly in her favor. "I'm not worried about you firing your gun. Even you shouldn't be that stupid. I don't know what you have, but two out of three says that it would explode, and the other says you just launch us into vacuum through a pin hole." She rolled her eyes at his naivete. "I want to know who hired you. More importantly, how much are they paying you to hunt me?" Behind her, the cockpit swiveled to orient itself to the gravity. She ignored his question back at her. For her, the understanding was that she asked the questions.

"Look I don't know who hired me. All they told me with takedown someone named Angel. They are paying me big bucks for this job. Say about $15 million." I said as i just float there, Getting very annoyed at the fact that she has gravity and I don't.  

[Ragereaper]

She took this into consideration as gravity finally took hold of the mercenary. "Big bucks?" she questioned. It was true, she had taken jobs before that were smaller than that, but some of the bounties on her were far more lucrative than that. Of course she knew that only the governements would send someone outside of their quadrant to collect on someone, but they wouldn't be clandestined about it. They might even announce it. Corporations on the other hand had an agreement that they would only have in system bounties. Something about it being part of a treaty. That didn't mean they wouldn't actually do something like hire a bounty out on someone while they were out of system, but they'd have to do it like they did with the fool soldier.
A corporation then. Which of them would pay fifteen million for her though
None that really wanted her, unless that was all that they could afford. That excluded the big three.
"That's a start," she stated. "Probably Entech. I did a job for them recently, but they have a habit of eliminating the mercenaries that they hire. Pay well though. If it is them, they'll send someone after you soon enough, then we'll know."  

[Mekuru_the_Invincible]

I fall on my head. "Ahh!" I Quickly sit up and rub my head, Then I catch on to what she said. "Well slag.. Let's hope it's not Entech then..." I get up still rubbing my head. "Mind if I sit down I'm kind of stuck on your ship..."  

[Ragereaper]

Angel was already heading back to her pilot's chair, sure that the 'threat' was over. He couldn't have been at this game too long. He folded too easily. Or he might be smarter than he's been proving and noticed that once he had lost the element of surprise, he had no chance. No, it was better to think him a dolt.
She ignored his questions again as she mulled over what she knew, which, frustratingly, wasn't much. The Gate wasn't much farther off. She was headed on a mission of her own to scout out a planet for colonization. The Altacians had already made the initial effort to put a gate in the galaxy, but surveying was up to her for now. "Brace yourself." was all she said to Mekuru before the ship launched into the Bridge.

With quick movement I strap into the seat next to her. "I really hate going Through Bridges" I said as i hold on tight.

Angel wouldn't exactly blame him for his aversion to Gates and Bridges. The phase shift was something that you could never get used to. It always felt like you were in a vast empty space and being sucked through a small hole. She didn't know about anybody else, but she always tasted the color blue when it was over. It was a very disorienting process, but it only lasted for a second, and then it was over.
Still, she felt irritated that he was complaining, and snapped at him, "Pull up your big boy panties! Your p***y's showing!" He didn't have time to make another comment, for it was not even a second later that they made the phase shift. Another second and it was over. They were in the warp tunnel.
