Name Meaning : Another girl

Brief Personality: Do not expect Tombi to sit around chatting about the weather. You'll be sorely disappointed. She is a perfectionist that has always gone above and beyond to learn. While most were whining to their parents about their empty stomach as a cub, she was strategizing the best way to feed herself with what she had to work with. And, no, she wasn't an orphan; simply an impatient youth to smart to sit and wait.

Having a plan no matter the obstacle helps promote confidence, and Tombi is, at times, teetering on the edge between proud and arrogant. She is very quick to share her accomplishments, despite the hushed manner in which she handles her personal life.

Name Meaning : To wait; to be patient

Brief Personality: Landani is perhaps devoted to his own devotion -- as of now, that refers to his loyalty of his new home and companions. He has a vast sea of inspiration and follows the tide, so to speak. The intuition to know what's going on in someone's head paired with the empathy to truly care will guide him on the path of healing with few roadblocks to overcome. He works best alone, but in times where it's needed, will be quick to collect a group of like-minded individuals to solve a problem.

What is their relationship: "Mates" through a promise to Tombi's dying sister and Landani's mate.

Brief Story Low Down: Landani and Tombi have unusual circumstances keeping them together. Though they look alike, they are not related. At least, not by blood. Ntombifuthi means "another girl", and if you assume she was named by a frustrated father with nothing but daughters, you'd be right. The loveliest of her sisters, Jesfali, grew to break the hearts of many males until, much to Tombi's chagrin, she was captivated by a cheetah named Landani. Just in time, too: Jesfali was set to take the throne and was being pressured to find a king.

To Jesfali, Tombi and Landani were like night and day. They were both needed, but for different reasons, and it seemed they couldn't stand each other enough to be in the same place at the same time. Try as she might to mend the relationship between the two most beloved cheetahs in her life, it took her death bed to unite them -- and even then, grudgingly.

Jesfali's final wish for Landani? Keep Tombi out of trouble.

And for her sister? Keep Landani from being taken advantage of.

For once, Tombi and Landani agreed on something, that their love for Jesfali was much stronger a force than their spite for each other. They banded together and, shortly after, met Emi. Both were disenchanted with the idea of ruling their homeland together (as Tombi was second-in-line behind Jesfali); however, they were enthralled with the group Emi spoke of and quickly agreed to assist in her efforts. Not only did it promise a place for both to expand their skills, it provided company other than each other.

Name Meaning : Hindi for Nightfall
Brief Personality: Sanjha keeps herself distant from others. Growing up she felt that she was the only one who could protect her 'parents'. Because of this she felt that she could not let anyone close to her because she did not want to be used. For her the only thing that is imporant is family. She is also very impatient, quick to judge and a bit opinonated. If she does not like someone (which she does not like that many) she will let them know.

Name Meaning : Hindi for First Light
Brief Personality: Pahale Halhi was raised as the heir to the throne and was raised to fit that roll. He speaks and acts very formally, but still carries the lightheartedness of youth. He prefers to talk things out then fight, but has been trained to defend himself. Before his banishment he often walked among the citizens and built a good relationship with them. He held great favor with them. After the attack and being disowned, he was at a sudden loss. His sister helped him through the worst of it, but it changed him. He still tends to be a bit too formal and is a bit less lighthearted now. He is also more contemplative.

Brief Story Low Down:It was always tradition in the pride for the mother to have her cubs away from wandering eyes, usually traveling a great distance to have her cubs. Only one could escort the mother and help her bring the cubs back, though only when they were able to walk. The mother of Pahale Halk and Sanjha traveled farther than normal, bringing along her closest friend with her. The current queen, their mother, had a secret, one that could affect many lives. The only two who knew the secret was her best friend and her lover who was the secret. Her husband could never find out about her affair, or he might question if the cubs she bore was his. She prayed to the gods that they would look like her and perhaps like the king. If he suspected anything, she feared for the cubs and her life.

They found a den to curl up in. This would be the place, the place where they would find out what her cubs and future heirs would look like. Two days after they arrived the cubs were born. The first one yellow, with markings matching the queen. It was a relief until the second one was born. The markings were like her, yet the color. The color was a giveaway. Her king did not have any purple on him, nor in her family. She also had bright warm colors. Tears filled her eyes as she looked at the cubs. Dawn and dusk. One would be loved by the king, the other would ruin everything if she brought her back home.

“We must get rid of her. Travel, see if there is a family who can take her. I will stay here and watch over them.” The queen ordered as her friend nodded and ran off. She named the boy Pahale Halki , after her father. However she did not name her daughter. If she got attached to her, she knew she could never give her up. It was a difficult choice, but despite that she stayed strong. Once her friend returned, with news of a family not too far. They waited in the den till the cubs were able to walk. Once they were able to, the queen gave the daughter to her friend to take to the family, while she took Pahale Halki back to their tribe.

Once at the tribe, the king was excited to see that his mate brought an heir to the tribe. The son was celebrated and grew up loved by the tribe. His mother never mentioned his sister, not until the day of her death. As she laid, on the verge of this world and the next, she asked to see Pahale Halki and no one else. She explained the whole tale from start to finish, telling him that he had a sister out there. She told him that once he became king, he should bring her in and keep her safe.

He promised her, though while he did so thought that not all promises were meant to be kept. The day that followed her death he decided to get a hunting party together, though he would secretly be looking for his sister that he had lost.

The daughter, who was named Sanjha was told when she was an adolescent the whole story, that if she returned to the tribe to see her family, her mother and brother would be killed along with her. The idea that she couldn't see her family pained her. She worked as hard as she could to be become a fighter, despite her family's dislike for violence. She became a skilled huntress and eventually a greater fighter all so she could see her family without them getting killed.

Chance would have it that, as the sun rose, the two found themselves hunting over the same bull. Pahale Halki fellow hunters were asleep, leaving him to hunt alone and Sanjha preferred the company of herself over others. Once they saw each other, they circled around, watching the other. It only took a moment for them to realize who the other was. They were awkward at first, not sure really what their relationship was. By blood they were siblings, but there was nothing connection between them other wise.

However they realized they both had the desire to be a family, no matter the hurdles in their way.

However there was one hurdle they needed to get pass before they could become a true family. Their father.

Pahale Halki knew his father wouldn't be happy with the knowledge of his mate having an affair. However it didn't seem fair to let Sanjha be ignored. She should be welcome into the tribe just as much as he was. Together they talked about what they should do. They talked about taking over the pride, becoming the true rulers of the pride.

However nether felt that they needed to rule to pride and get vengeance. They wanted to be happy. Sanjha, never being in the tribe, would struggle to fit in.

Their plan was to be honest with the king and tell him about the affair. They would then leave the tribe and find their own way to live.

However once arriving to the tribe they found it was in the middle of being attacked. Pahale Halki and Sanjha quickly went in the action, helping take the attackers out. It wasn't long till the attackers retreated. There were many injured and killed in the tribe. The king had been terrible hurt, a deep cut that wasn't clotting. As the king's life was coming to an end he asked to see Pahale Halki and the cheetah who came with him. The siblings went to him, Sanjha a bit with hesitation.

The king cleared his throat before talking. "I have known that you were not my son for many year. I also know that you have now brought your sister here. Now the tribe knows you are not my son, which means you can not receive the thrown. I will allow you to stay in the pride for the night, but you and your sister must leave by the sun's rise."

He glanced passed them at another young cheetah, younger then the siblings and the king's nephew. "Arjuna will become king once I die. He carries my blood."

The king fell silent and rested. The tribe members who were around bowed their heads. Sanjha gave Pahale Halki a gentle nudge. She stuck close to him. Today he had lost so much, she wanted to be there for him, just this one time.

The siblings helped as much as they could, however night fell and they rested, knowing they had far to travel in the morning.

Once morning did come, they found that the tribe members were surrounding them, baring gifts. Most of the gifts the siblings refused to take knowing the tribe needed it more then they did. However they did take the two clothes offered to them. One yellow, one purple. It matched them. Morning and night, so similar, yet different. They said their thanks and departed the pride, hoping that the new dawn would take them to where they needed to be.

Brief Personality: Chini is the decision maker of the two remaining siblings. She protects her brother and drags him behind her wherever she goes, as she has since they were cubs. Her solutions to everyday and surprise problems are typically from factual, practical and rational points of view, which lead to brief disagreements with her brother on occasion.

Brief Personality: The emotional, passionate yang to Chini's yin, Hadi has a tendency towards explosive or even violent outbursts of joy, love, despair or anger. He is not completely flighty nor overtly sensitive, but he is quiet, humble and reflective. He is quick to smile, and quicker to befriend which has led to heartache in the past so he often looks to Chini for confirmation or lead when he becomes unsure or loses confidence in himself.

Brief Story Low Down: Born to the Kiburi Chasiku, a coalition of cheetahs that worship and celebrate the sun, the siblings were born to the High Priest and his pretty wife as a final litter in their old age. Another brother, Juaboriti was exploring the border with Hadi when they met a roaming trio of male lions who looked scraggly and in need of a good meal. Hadi's good nature got the better of him and rather than avoiding the triplets, he convinced Juaboriti to invite them to the main center of activity for a meal. When the five felines arrived to dine, the lions laid waste to the smaller cats. The twenty cheetahs of the coalition were all slaughtered, injured, or scattered to the winds and their High Priest was the first to fall to the deadly foreign claws. Their mother died protecting them, placing herself between one of the brother lions and her adolescent cubs to buy them time to escape.

They discovered only later that Juaboriti had been fatally wounded in the scuffle. His abdomen darkened and swelled, filling with blood from internal injuries until he finally succumbed in his sleep. Terrified by the wretched waste behind them, Hadi was nearly overcome by his guilt and grief before Chini was able to drag him back into reality.

The siblings came upon Emi not long after, having at some point grown into adulthood without being honestly aware of their rite of passage. The takeover gave them a renewed sense of purpose, and it was mostly for that reason that Chini decided to throw their lot in with the other female. Hadi more or less followed as much as he was dragged.

Name Meaning : Gracious Mother
Brief Personality: Raina is polite and friendly but not overly friendly as to not scare off others. She has a lot of compassion and concern for others and she tends to put others before herself. That nature lead to her role as being a nanny, she adores cubs and young ones, she loves taking of others in fact and couldn't really see it another way. She is playful but can also be strict and protective if the need arises. This loving beauty knows just how to be serious and when she can be fun and when she can relax.
