Daren licked his lips and nodded, "we can if you want-" but he was still hard, and so was Tim. hard enough he could see it while they were standing there. "I still want you-" he whispered, "but, i-we-i need to go slow. if you don't, if-it's ok if you want to just watch something or read, though..." he smiled a little and shook his head, "you're so strong, Tim. after years of abuse and you still slept with me. i only had a month and i'm shaking like a leaf." he leaned down and kissed Tim, "i'm ok. i would love to be with you, but like i said, we need to go slow."

"We can go slow, Daren." He comforted, gently taking the man's face and leaning up to kiss him sweetly. "We'll go slow, I promise." He listened to Daren, giving a soft smile and shaking his head. He wanted to say 'you get used to it after a while' but he couldn't. Tim had allowed himself to become desensitized to it, a month was not enough time to do the same. "I trusted you not to hurt me." he admitted, accepting the kiss. "We'll go slow, I won't rush you. I promise Daren I will never rush you." and leaned up to press another kiss against him.

Daren let out a shaky breath. "ok." he nodded a little, as if assuring himself, "ok. you trusted me so i'm-i'm going to trust you." he tightened his grip on Tim's hand and walked with him to the bedroom, sick with worry and fear but willing to work through it with Tim's help. it was rough at first. he had to stop several times and move away simply to breathe, but he finally was able to move past his memories and just enjoy the moment. they made love and slow as they had promised and both collapsed against each other when they finished, Daren breathing hard. he clung to Tim, his eyes closed, not wanting to loose the moment, but nothing can be held onto forever. he snuggled in closer and sighed, "hope you weren't planning anything else tonight, because i'm not moving..."

Tim was worried as he followed his love. Yes, yes he desperately wanted to be in bed with Daren, but he didn't want to force him, he didn't want Daren to force himself. But the other seemed intent on letting it happen. But Daren broke away constantly, Tim comforting him, telling him he didn't have to go through it, it was okay. The red-head wouldn't touch anything else but the dark-skinned hands. He didn't want to seem like he was forcing the other. He wasn't.

But slowly, so very slowly Daren had moved past it, and true to their word, they went slow and sweet, Tim panting softly as he came down from the high. Oh why did it give him butterflies in his stomach.

With a chuckle, he stroked the other's face before kissing him, "Nothing planned, dear. Nothing at all."

Daren chuckled, feeling better than he had in a long, long time. it was ok. he could have sex and it didn't hurt. neither of them had been hurt. somewhere in his brain, he still remembered it wasn't suppose to, but he'd forgotten after everything that had happened. "good." was all he had to say before yawning. "Tim?" he smirked and kissed the back of his lover's neck, "i like you all sweaty and smelling of me. you should be that way more often."

Tim was starting to doze off, waking up when his name was called. Wasn't it still early anyway? Why did love-making make him so lethargic afterwards? Probably the spent energy. He was skinny he didn't need to expend more energy. "Hmm?" the kiss made him smile, the words making him laugh. "Well then I'll be sure to play basketball with you more often!" he turned his head to kiss Daren, "You're silly. I love you."

A slightly goofy grin passed across Daren's lips as he fell asleep, "love you too-" he slept deeply for the first couple of hours, but his nightmares were waiting in the shadows for when he was the most vunerable. he was somewhere dark, he didn't know where, but he was breathing hard and scared. his heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was trying to escape. he knew he'd been running until a moment ag, was he hiding? is that why it was so dark? he found a small spot of light and tried to reach for it when he heard footsteps, making him freeze. it was them. the people he was hiding from. they were close. he could hear them talking, telling him that it was pointless. they would find him. he covered his mouth with his hands and curled into a ball, praying they would pass. it grew quiet and he looked up. had they left? did they miss his hiding spot? just as he began to hope, the small spot of light darkened before the doors were thrown open and he was blinded by the light pouring in. laughter surrounded him as he was drug out and held down. he couldn't see them, had no idea how many there were, but deep down he didn't want to know. they were going to hurt him, he knew that, but he didn't want to see their faces. it was so much easier if he just closed his eyes and waited for it to end.

his clothing was ripped away and Daren let out a tiny whimper before biting down on his lip hard enough to draw blood. he closed his eyes as his hips were lifted into the air. pain burned it's way down from his hips and Daren closed his eyes, waiting-they snapped open and darne pushed away from the arms holding him.

"No!" he screamed, tasting blood and smelling sweat and sex. "no!" he fell off the bed, the hard thud startling him out of his sleepy haze. he blinked and looked around, confused for a long moment before memory returned and he slumped forward. a dream, it was just a dream. dream or not, his actions hadn't been and he'd pushed Tim away rather roughly. "Tim?" he asked, sitting up and kneeling by the bed, "i'm sorry. are you ok?"

Tim slept soundly, breathing softly in time with the breath against his neck. His body was still buzzing with the feelings of love and Daren, and when that went away his mind just recreated the feeling, leaving the other in a happy, dreamless bliss. What woke him up was Daren giving him a hard push, jolting him awake and making him nearly fall off the opposite end of the bed.

"I'm fine." he responded, turning on the lamp and crawling over, turning on Daren's lamp before giving a gasp. "You're bleeding! Daren!" he gently held his face, "You bit your lip? What did you dream of? Are you okay?"

Daren flinched when he saw Tim's hand moving towards him out of the corner of his eye. he hoped that the other didn't notice, his focus being on his bitten lip. "just-just something that happened," he admitted softly, blushing, "i'm sorry. it was just a dream." he got up and wiped the back of his hand over his mouth, "i'm ok. it was just a small cut, nothing to worry about. let's go back to-" but he didn't want to go back to sleep. he couldn't, not if that dream was there waiting for him. Daren swallowed, "back to bed. i'm sorry i woke you up, Tim." he moved back onto the soft surface and slide under the covers, "lay down. i'm ok now, it was just a dream. let's get some more sleep, ok?" he'd just stay in bed with Tim, he knew he wouldn't be able to sleep but he wasn't going to keep Tim from sleeping

"You bit yourself really hard. You're bleeding really badly." he tilted the dark face towards the light, better inspecting the wound. "We should clean this up." but Daren was climbing back in to bed and under the blankets. "It's okay, I don't mind. Was it a bad dream?" a nightmare? He slid back down, getting cozy against the man again while looking up worriedly. "If you need me wake me up okay? I'm right here, Daren."

Daren lifted the non-wounded side of his mouth into a smile, "i will, i promise." he hugged Tim, "don't worry about me. it's already stopped bleeding. just go back to sleep." he buried his nose in the top of Tim's hair and held onto him, not wanting to let go now that his brain recognised the man in his arms. he felt stupid for reacting the way he had. of course Tim wasn't going to hurt him. he'd been out for a little bit, at least, he should be getting better. Daren closed his eyes to keep from staring across the room, hating himself. it was ok. he was home and they were both safe. so long as he remembered that, it was going to be ok.

Tim closed his eyes, curling against his boyfriend. "All right." he murmured, not one hundred percent comfortable, hoping his presence would maybe help Daren sleep well. He didn't want him having nightmares. But he fell asleep like that, curled tight against him and clinging softly.

Tim's body woke up before his brain.

Why, he wondered, was he awake so early. He sighed, stretching and relaxing again. "I need to do something productive.' he yawned, burying his face in the skin.

Daren didn't sleep. he couldn't, not if it meant having another nightmare and possibly hurting Tim. he'd just pushed him today, but what happened if Daren actually lashed out? Tim would be asleep and unaware, Daren could beat the s**t out of him before Tim was able to wake him up. hours past before he felt movement and heard Tim. he blinked slowly and smiled, kissing Tim's nose, "you have work today, don't you? that's productive." he checked the clock and sighed, "want me to make you breakfast while you shower? i think we've plenty of time before you would, but i can easily whip something together while you wash. or-" he smirked, remembering why letting Tim shower alone was a bad thing, "we could shower together."

"Oh that's right." Tim mumbled, his sigh now turning in to a groan. "And I'm not showering with you, I may end up late to work and I love you Daren, I do, but I'm already at three strikes your out." he smiled, rubbing the tip of his nose against the other. "You can cook. I'll shower by myself. I'll be in and out before you know it." and sat up, stretching and running his fingers through his short hair.

It really was time for a cut, soon.

Daren nodded, "Alright, but don't take too long. i'm just going to make breakfast sandwiches so they won't take long to cook." he rubbed Tim's head as he got up. Daren considered going in the nude, but he decided to put on boxers, not quite ready for that yet. he head into the kitchen, but worried the entire time he was cooking that Tim was scrubbing himself raw. he wanted to check, but wanted to trust Tim as well. he'd not said anything hoping that Tim would forget, but he didn't think that was likely.
