I am still unsure if I meant to jump or not. Either way, I fell. It was glorious. I was weightless; the wind hugged and caressed me, the sun smiled coyly through wisps of cloud. Then the earth snatched me away. Claws grabbed my skin, sank deep. I was slammed into concrete, snapping bones and ripping flesh. My world went red, crimson blood mellowing scarlet pain. Needles stabbed over and over, flashing pinpoints of white in a sea of red. The sea froze over, a soothing blue numbness settling over me. Then beautiful red faded to merciful black.

A whisper of feathers woke me. I yawned, stiffly sat up and wondered why my bed was so hard. Then I remembered, white and red and blue flashing through my memory. The blare of car horns jolted me into reality. Colors sped down the street, cars weaving in and out of lanes. People hurried down the street, scurrying through crowds. Everyone avoided me, seemingly without realizing it.

“Hello?” No one seemed to hear. I reached out for a woman walking by, but I felt only a flash of warmth in the air and no contact of skin to flesh. My hand had passed through her.

A flash of brown caught my eye. I turned to follow it, but it moved as I did. Tentatively, I reached behind me and felt soft, silky feathers. I looked over my shoulder, saw two wings erupting from my shoulder blades. Feathered in a right mocha brown, they hung from my back, limp and useless.

Suddenly, everything made sense. I was an angel. And I had fallen.

Angels are real. Though they are thought to be only legends, they walk among us. Few of the Heavenly Host choose to remain among mere mortals for long- our world dims in comparison to theirs. The angels we see among us are often Nephilim- the offspring of a human and an angel. The Nephilim live as humans until they turn 18, when they become legal adults. Then, they undergo a change. Their angelic heritage comes forward and occupies a place in the Nephilim's mind, almost as if they were an 'alternate personality', or a 'possessing spirit'.

The Nephilim's Angels may be a reincarnate of an angel slain in the Wars, in the battles for control of the Heavens between God and the Fallen angel Lucifer. Or, it could be a new angel, a new creation never seen before.

For two years, the Nephilim must exist with their Angel. After two years, their fate is decided. If they survived successfully, then they have a choice. They can ascend to the Heavenly realms, or remain in the mortal world as either human or Nephilim. If they choose to remain in the mortal world as human, their Angel is released and free to return to the Heavens. But if they choose to live as Nephilim, then they are charged with hunting down the Fallen.

Not all Angels are appreciative of being part of a human, or confined within a mortal shell. Many try to drive their host insane, or overpower them and push the human mind to the back, so they can take control of the body. However, some only want to Ascend, so they do all they can to help. How they react to being a mere presence in a human's mind depends on the angel.

If the Nephilim did not successfully coexist with their Angel, they Fall. If they attempt suicide, or work willingly with another Fallen, allow their Angel to overpower their mind, or commit heinous crimes using their abilities, among other reasons, then they Fall and become one of the Fallen.

Angel
Each Angels has a unique personality, and one trait they strive to perfect. Angels are not all good, however. Some are rather twisted, seeking to harm others rather than help and heal. They prefer to live in the Heavenly realms, finding the mortal world boring and plain. Their size reflects their power. A weak angel is human size, whereas an archangel would tower over a human, standing at least 30 feet tall. Typically, an Angel will not willingly walk the mortal realms for long, except perhaps to visit a Nephilim offspring or meet a human whom they have been intrested in. These meetings between human and angel tend to lead to the creation of the Nephilim.


Nephilim
The Nephilim are the results of human-angel matings. Most believe they are human until they turn 18, when their Angelis heritage is revealed. When they underog the change, wings painfully burst through their skin. Their wings are typically feathered in light colors, gray being the darkest they will ever be, unless they Fall. They gain new powers, such as keener vision, becoming stronger, faster, and being able to summon a sword made from fiery light. Additionally, they have one power characteristic of their Angel. Their Angel, whom they can communicate telepathically with, usually explains what is occuring, and can serve as a mentor for the Nephilim. As mentioned, the Nephilim must coexist with their Angel for two years. They will gain access to their Angel's powers over time, and learn to fight, fly, and to survive.


Fallen
The Fallen are Nephilim who did not successfully survive their two-year trial-period. They now must stay in the mortal realms, and require the lifeforce of humans to survive. They steal life through a kiss, or through drinking the blood of a mortal. They look like they did as humans, though they have wings they can reveal at will, like the Nephilim. However, their wings are dark, shades of brown and black. They can show fangs, used for drinking the blood of humans they need to survive. They also have the magic and abilities they had as Nephlim, with the exception of summoning a sword made of shadows or blue-black flames, not light. They still share their mind with their Angel, but their Angel has also turned, becoming more evil than they were when occupying the mind of a Nephilim.

The Fallen also make it their mission to corrupt or destroy any Nephilim they find. How they approach the task of removing the Nephilim, be it deception or brute force, depends on the Fallen. No matter what, they do not want any Nephilim to succeed in passing their two-year test.

However, if a Fallen truly regrets turning, they have a chance at redemption. With a Guardian's help, they can do good, and undergo tests and finally allow themselves to be killed by a Nephilim's power, in order to be reincarnated and given a second chance as a Nephilim. Despite this opportunity, very rarely is it attempted, much less successful.

Guardians
Thought to be the children of Nephilim, the Guardians appear to be human. However, they are stronger, faster, and can summon elemental swords. They also know everything about the Nephilim, Fallen, and Angels, unlike most humans. They are tasked with protecting the Nephilim, or with helping a Fallen be forgivven, so they might be reincarnated. They also assist Nephilim who were successful and chose to remain in the mortal realm with destroying the Fallen.

If you are Nephilim, then you will be the Nephilim, and their Angel. Same for Fallen. However, there are two aspects to the Nephilim profile, the human and Angel part.

Additionally. Every Nephilim can summon a sword and fly. Please detail what type of sword (light or fire or a combination). Angels have powers that their Nephilim do not. Over time, the Nephilim will learn and gain access to their Angel's powers.

Personality: Blunt, independent, and sarcastic. She's used to being on her own, and she doesn't take any crap from anyone- Angel, Fallen, or human. She has a small mean streak, though only when provoked. Otherwise, she tends towards quiet and observent, always aware of where she is, and talking her way out of the trouble her sharp tongue gets her into.
Abilities: Telekinesis, light sword
Bio: She left home as soon as she turned 18, not having had the best family life. Her mother had been an Angel, and her father wasn't amused by being left with a child- a girl at that. Now, Aendri's on her own, working as a waitress and living in a condo with another Nephilim she met on the road.

Personality: Sarcastic, dry, witty, perverted. He's even more so at being a female Nephilim's Angel. He's protective of Aendri, especially because they are so close to passing their trial.

Bio: She willingly became a Fallen when Lilith promised her power, not even lasting a week. The victims she killed in order to cause her fall? Her family. She's been alive longer than anyone can remember, though she doesn't even look 30. If there is massive destruction, she is probably behind it.

Personality: Calculating, twisted, taunting, sexy. She knows her appeal, and that of her Fallen, and uses it. She works fully in synch with her Fallen, seeking to turn as many Nephilim as possible and spread chaos.
Abilities: Manipulate shadows, summon being from the shadow planes, teleport through shadows, etc.
