Walking into Pewter City Maria was glad that they had made it safe and sound. "Hey want to give Drilbur another shot." she asked David when they got to the pokemon center. "Maybe we can figure out way he's so upset, I don't think being in a pokeball is going to solve the issue anyway. So it's better then nothing." Maria spoke make at least some sense. "We can sit and have some lunch and see where things go." she added thinking it was worth a try. Pidgey at the sound of lunch perked up in a hurry. He really was hungry and chances were if he was then so was the rest of the team. Besides fighting on a full stomach would sure be better than an empty one.

(OOC: So we are lol... hey I didn't know that there was a contest hall in town... wonder what that will be about.)

"I think it's pretty obvious why he's upset," David said, holding up Drilbur's ball. "Nolan pretty much gave him to me without so much as a goodbye. I think if we bump into him again, we could give them a chance to smooth things out." Woobat also perked up and squeaked at the sound of lunch. "Yeah, lunch sounds good. Especially since these little guys haven't eaten anything since we got started. Let's head to the Pokémon Center."

"Yeah your probably right..." Maria replied shaking off the depression she was having about Drilbur. "Right let's go." she said walking over to the pokemon center and getting inside. She hoped that everyone would be happy once they had something to eat. Pidgey flew inside happy that he was getting something in his system since the fight when he was captured. "Alright guys everyone out." she called out letting all her pokemon out of their pokeballs. Only one Maria couldn't let out of course was Goldeen that was until water became available. This was the first time the team could really met with eachother and if they were going to fight in the tournament they would need to work as a team.

David followed Maria into the Pokémon Center and Woobat immediately flew over to hang out with Pidgey. The two already seemed to get along since they looked for the Ledyba in the woods. "And now, I'll let you guys out too!" David opened the remaining three Poké balls (excluding Remoraid, of course). His Sentret's eyes lit up at the sight of Maria's Sentret and Caterpie looked a little shy. The only one who didn't seem thrilled to be out was Drilbur, who simply turned to glare at David. "Okay. So maybe we didn't start off on the right foot. But I think we can patch things up once we get some food. Does that sound good?"
"..." Drilbur simply put its hands together, as though it were ready to tunnel underground, and lay down on the floor.

Pidgey was happy hanging with Woobat as they could both fly around together. As Sentret saw David's Sentret it ran straight over. "Sentret sent," (Hey we get food.) she told Sentret all excited that they could run free and eat. Snover saw Caterpie and quickly walked over to her. "Sno," (Hello,) Snover spoke up trying to get Caterpie to be open with the other pokemon.

Maria had ran off and grabbed food for the pokemon and walked back giving everyone the specific type of pokemon food each type needed. She had all of this figured out for the most part. Seeing the problem David was having with Drilbur Maria decided to try and help. "Hey there Drilbur." she said kneeling down to his level. "Please hear me out... you need to let out your feelings. I know you're upset about Nolan giving you away and not saying anything. But please understand that he just wants you to be happy and he felt that you would be better with David." Maria told him trying to get him understand and open up a little.

"I'm not say to forgive and forget, I'm just say give David a chance cause he really wants to get to know you and be your friend." Maria finished. Standing up and heading over to her food where she could sit and watch all the other pokemon start eating and hopefully see some pokemon open up just a little.

Sentret felt a bead of sweat on the back of her head. "Sentret Sen Sen." (You sure are energetic.)
Caterpie nervously crawled closer to Snover and squeaked back a hello of her own.
David crouched down with Maria as well. "Everything Maria said is true. I'm sorry Nolan gave you to me so suddenly, but I really want you to be my friend. And my Pokémon want to be friends with you too."
Slowly, Drilbur opened up its claws to peek at David, just as he placed a brown food bowl in front of him. "Besides, if you keep yourself locked up like that, you're gonna miss out on all the food."
Drilbur got on all fours and stared at the food bowl. "...Drilbur?"

"Sen sent sentret" (Well it's been awhile and I'm kind of hungry.) Sentret answered her friend as she rubbed the back of her head with her paw. She tried to seem like the mature one of the group and it was seriously slipping today. Food was definately her weakness that was for sure. "Snover sno snov?" (Your new here aren't you?) Snover asked Caterpie. "Snov sno." (I bet you'll have fun with us.) he added taking food eating it. Pidgey at the sign of food flew down to the ground to peak at it, after all saving Ledyba is hard work. "And we wouldn't want you to go hungry." Maria added with a smile. Deep down she knew they were getting through to Drilbur and that's exactly what they all wanted.

Regardless of whether Maria's Sentret was being mature or not, David's Sentret scooted over to start eating. Caterpie squirmed over and cautiously ate as well. Woobat ate a little more enthusiastically, as it did anything else.
As for Drilbur, it toddled over and started eating some food. David smiled at this development. "That's much better. Now once Nurse Joy heals you guys up, we'll look for someone to battle. Okay?"

"That's a smart idea David..." Maria said with a smile. They need to get stronger to fight in the gym after all. Then it made her think of something else... she knew there was a contest hall and didn't knew exactly what it was about but figured it would be worth checking out. Anything was better then nothing after all and everything was still so new to her. "You know what I'm glad everyone is getting along and really coming together." she said knowing that everything would turn out okay.
