It's that time of year again. Cozying by the fireplace, decorating the tree, drinking a ton of eggnog, and attempting to ruin your eyesight by staring at pages upon pages of the OOC in hopes of finding that last freakin tree icon! scream Oh yes, it's here again... the Christmas Scavenger Hunt! Here for it's second year, 2011! Like usual, I've decided to hide tiny icons throughout the Guild and anything relating to the guild, just so you guys have that unique and wonderful privilege of smashing your face on your keyboard in angst. If you're unfamiliar with how the Scavenger Hunt works, here's a quick run down...
This year you will be searching high and low for a total of 27 different frozen icons:
-20 Individual Blue Snowflakes
-5 Specialty Snowflakes
-2 Mystery Icons
The Blue Snowflakes are the first part of this two part contest. The first part revolves around SPEED. If you are the first person to locate all 20 of them you receive 10 Dragons. Anyone that turns in all 20 after someone has claimed the prize, will still receive 3 Dragons for their efforts.
The Specialty Snowflakes are the second part, revolving around patience. These are intended to be much more difficult to locate than their Blue counterparts. However, if you manage to track down all 5 of them, you will receive 10 Dragons. This task is not won by the first person to turn them in, as anyone that finds all 5 can receive the prize.
The Mystery Icons.... well, good luck with that.... If you're a die hard scavenger hunter with some dang keen eyes, you may come across these two elusive icons. But believe me, it'll be worth wiping the blood from your eyes as turning in both of these icons will bag you 15 Dragons and this year's 'Arctic Antics' award, which gives you a Stunning Dragon in turn. They are also available to anyone patient enough to locate them and need not be rushed for.
Upon finding any icon, you should see a 3 digit number near it. Example: mrgreen 123, so all you have to do is write down that three digit number somewhere. Collect a list of the 3 digit numbers and submit your findings in a PM to myself. DO NOT post the numbers anywhere other than in a PM to Jade Ralden. It is however perfectly acceptable to help each other in locating these icons, just please use PM's to discuss locations and try not to just give the numbers away. You may PM me any amount of 3 digit numbers you wish, but the easiest is organized into the three sections, being Blue Flakes, Special Flakes, and Mystery. Please don't lose your numbers. Make a copy of your numbers on your computer, just in case the PM gets screwed up or something.
That's about it for the explanation. I will post the start date/time soon. Don't attempt to search for them any sooner than that, as they aren't there. Ask any questions or comments you have in this thread.
