Here I will have the various changes that have happened to the wastelands over the past ten years. Each individual settlement's history is on their respective topic, but I figured for convenience sake I'd have it all in one place.

Mohave

Goodsprings

The small town of good springs. Though originally not very big or important to the Mohave as a whole it has been praised for being relatively safe despite remaining independent of NCR rule. Their water supply also makes the town an important stop for traveling merchants and over the past ten years the town has grown into a prosperous trading town having expanded considerably. They are still independent from NCR rule however this is allowed due to their peaceful nature, and help in keeping a steady flow of traders throughout the Mohave. Any independent caravans usually base their operations in Goodsprings and the mayor there is responsible for arranging trade routes.

Primm

A small town who's main attractions are the Vikki and Vance casino and the newly reopened Bison Steve hotel. With the Hotel reopening the town has seen an increase in traffic from people to poor to get into the New Vegas strip. Being under NCR rule they have to pay heavy taxes but are safe from enemy intruders.

jacobstown

A town located in the north western part of the Mohave dessert atop a small mountain range. The community is made almost entirely off super mutants, but they are all peaceful and allow humans to come and go as they please. Though relations with the NCR were strained at first the two groups eventually made peace and the super mutants there were even invited to join the NCR army as part of the "Behemoth Core". The Nightkin also travel here to get cured of their schizophrenia and stealth boy addiction.

Nipton

A former seedy town that was burned to the ground by the Legion. Since then the town was reestablished and once again acts to serve as a place for debauchery outside of the strip. However this time around the town is more heavily regulated by the NCR to prevent another incident like before.

Novac

An attraction town on the route to New Vegas. The most prevalent site there is the large Dinosaur shaped gift shop posted in front of the town were the town snipers keep watch for trouble. After the second battle for hoover dam the town lost some traffic due to the NCR being able to keep the more direct eastern route to the Strip clear of Cazadors and Deathclaws. However this has also allowed the town to remain free from NCR rule. The nearby repcon testing site that formerly housed the bright followers now is home to a group of scientists called the star gazers who use the facility's resources to examine space.

Black Mountain

formerly known as the State of Utobitha, ruled by super mutants and nightkin, the mountain has since been vacated by the super mutants all having been killed or moved on to Jacobstown. Due to the high radiation normal humans couldn't settle the area so the area became a settlement for ghouls. Because of radiations tendency to speed up feralization the ghouls have set up large cages in which ghouls are place once they start to turn feral. When the settlement is threatened the town merely releases the cages and sicks the feral ghouls on whatever the threat may be.

Nellis AFB

A base located near the north east of the Mohave. The area is segregated from the rest of the area and any attempts to enter are met with heavy howitzer fire. The Boomers living their are highly self sufficent and consider other wastelanders to be savages, though this mind set has largely diminished over the years after seeing how organized and well educated members of the NCR are. Over the last ten years the Boomers there have begun to send out members to trade with the outside, and even a let select few enter the base.

Hidden Valley

a small caged in valley, home of the Mohave chapter of the brotherhood of steel. Since the battle at hoover dam and the brotherhood's treaty with the NCR the bunker there is no longer on lock down. The brotherhood can be seen coming and going and have even expanded to inhabit the other bunkers in the area as well. Though the artifical storms still rage throughout the area to keep its location a secret to its enemies.

Freeside

the outer slum area around the New Vegas strip. Before it was nothing but a recluse for the people to poor, chemed out, or crazy to get into the strip, but thanks to the efforts of the followers of apocalypse and the NCR the living conditions in the area have vastly improved. Water is now free and readily available, the NCR keeps a close eye on the area to cut down on crime, and the followers have expanded in both members and supplies allowing them to keep the people healthy and well educated. Though problems still arise and various gangs operate under the radar of the NCR creating a seedy underbelly.

NCR correctional facility

The former safe heaven of the powder gangers. After the NCR swept through and wiped out the powder gangers there the prison was left empty for several years. 3 years ago when the NCR made an attempt to renovate the area they were surprised to find a group of raiders occupying the prison. They were surprisingly well equipped even more so than the powder gangers, and drove the NCR off, and have controlled the area since.

The Fort

the large encampment east of the Colorado river. It had laid empty and forgotten for ten years until the new legion returned and set up camp there once again. However the camp is almost double the size it had been under Ceaser's rule and a similar increase in men to fill it. To even approach this place without permission is suicide.

Hoover Dam

the major supplier of electricity throughout all of the Mohave. The spot is a major foot hold in the area and holding it is to almost guarantee dominance over the rest of the Mohave. Due to this battles over the Hoover damn have been fought on more than one occasion.

Camp McCarren

A former air port re-purposed to serve as the head base of the NCR. With the NCR's victory at the second battle of Hoover damn they have had 10 years to supply and reinforce their base into a true Military stronghold capable of withstanding everything short of a full on nuclear strike.

Red Rock Canyon

Formerly inhabited by the great Kahns. Red Rock Canyon was abandoned during the second battle of hoover damn as the Great Khans saw it as the only time the NCR would be distracted enough to allow a full scale evacuation. The Great Khans then fled west leaving the canyon empty and abandoned. Later when the scourge mutants emerged from vault 18 they took residence in the canyon and people have steered clear of the area ever since.

New Vegas Strip

The glowing strip at the center of New Vegas. A dazzling monument to both pre and post war temptation. The four great families run the casinos there and little has changed since the NCR took over. Gambling, drinking, and whores are all still abundant and happily provided for the right price. Here people come to make it big, but usually leave broken in both their wallets and spirits.

Capital Wasteland

Megaton

A city built around an undetonated nuclear bomb. Ten years ago the bomb was deactivated assuring the safety of its citizens. The brotherhood used liberty prime to reclaim the deactivated nuke for research and as a result Megaton no longer needs to pay the mandated technology tax making it one of the more prosperous cities in the wasteland. This also means that the town of Megaton does not tolerate resistance members seeing as they all ready have a free pass from the brother hood and don't want to do anything to jeopardize their position.

Metro Tunnels

A long system of underground tunnels once used for transportation. The tunnels are collapsed in several areas and the entire area is flooded with feral ghouls. The population has only increased since the brotherhood's change in regime since they no longer care about making the wastes safer, and see no value in clearing the tunnels.

The Citadel

The home base of the brother hood of steel. This massive fortress looms over the wastes threatening total destruction every time its doors open. Due to the new brotherhood's negative view on outsiders they no longer accept new recruits and do not allow anyone but other members of the brotherhood inside. All attempts to get inside and discover what they are doing inside have been met with failure and death.

Arefu and Meresti Train Station

The settlement of Arefu and the nearby settlement of Meresti, home to the "family". Despite issues in the past the two groups had developed a stable relationship. In which the citizens of Arefu trade blood packs to the "vampires" at Meresti in exchange for protection from the family. As a result both groups prospered until the new brotherhood took over. Seeing the family as nothing but cannibals the brotherhood waged a genocidal "purge" against them. The citizens of Arefu tried to intervene and as a result both the settlement of Arefu was burned down and explosives were used to collapse the Meresti tunnel leaving them both uninhabitable. though some managed to escape the town is nothing but a ghost town now.

Big Town

The decrepit city were citizens of little lamp light go when they become adults. Though the place used to be a death trap after a unknown figure arrived the town had a total turn around. They learned how to properly scavenge and use weapons. Also due to the brother hood's efforts to wipe out the super mutants prior to their switch the town was able to build itself up again, and by the time the new brother hood took over and the super mutant population went back up the town was well equipped and prepared to fend off almost any threat. Due to their scavenging skills they are able to easily pay off the brotherhood making them another more prosperous settlement in the wastes

Little Lamplight

A settlement located in lamplight caverns. Once a haven were only children could reside it has changed dramatically over the past ten years. With all the inhabitants reaching adult hood and having to move on to big town the town was left abandoned until it was found by ghouls trying to make their way to underworld. Not only were they better suited to survive in the caves the super mutant's tolerance of ghouls allowed them to venture into vault 87 for trading. Now the ghouls work beside the super mutants calling themselves "the retrievers". They go out and find captives to be made into super mutants where super mutants normally wouldn't be able to get close to. In exchange the super mutants offer them protection and technology in order to stay off the brotherhood. It is unsure whether the brotherhood doesn't know of their actions, or simply don't care.

Canterbury Commons

The settlement that helps manage the caravans that roam the wasteland. Due to their caravan connections they are able to regularly pay brother hood taxes and as such have gone rather unaffected by the brotherhood's change in regime. However the caravans that deal in technology now must travel at night to avoid being shaken down by brotherhood patrols.

Grayditch

Once a large ruins Grayditch has expanded over the past ten years to become a stable settlement. After the area was cleared of giant fire ants settlers began returning to the town making use of its many stable buildings and close proximity to megaton their advantage. The Brothehood's regime came to soon however as the settlement had not yet grown to the point were it could support itself fully and constantly struggles to scrap together the technology needed to pay for the tax. As a result less time is dedicated to gathering other materials such as food or weapons and as such the town has become a sort of slums region. Grayditch is rumored to be the home base of the resistance.

Paradise Falls

A settlement of slavers who kid nap anyone unlucky enough to cross paths with them and sell them for profit. The new head of paradise falls had captured scientists from all over the wastes and put them to work finding ways to reproduce the mesmertron. Their success in this endeavor lead to a rise in power for the slavers. However since the brotherhood's take over they have been forced to hand over all of their mesmertron related technology and as such have a harder time acquiring slaves due to their reliance on the technology. Without the mesmertrons to help them several settlements have banded together to attack paradise falls and they are now under constant siege only being able to send out slavers at night to try to add slaves to their fighting force.

Oasis

A hidden paradise in the wastes filled with trees and life. After the death of Harold the tree minders have put their efforts into maintaining the growth of plants around them. Their remoteness has kept them safe from the brother hood and many settlers seek it out hoping to find protection from the brotherhood.

Rivet City

A large carrier boat turned settlement. After the success of project purity Rivet city was regularly employed to provide security for water deliveries allowing them to grow economically. This also built a strong relationship with the brotherhood and with them as allies were able to prosper like no other settlement in the wasteland. Even when the new brotherhood took over their standings remained strong and the science lab was left untouched under the condition that any and all discoveries and inventions be shared with the brotherhood so they can analyze and recreate the results. Despite this the brotherhood still holds them at an arms length and still do not allow them access to the citadel. The resistance is not tolerated in rivet city as they do not want to hurt their standings with the brotherhood.

Tenpenny Tower Ruins

Once home to the richest people in the wasteland, Tenpenny tower was destroyed by the brotherhood after they refused to pay taxes and even tried to repel brother hood troops with their security force. As punishment the brotherhood sent liberty prime and literally toppled the entire building killing everyone inside including tenpenny himself. The bottom two floors are all that are left standing while the remainder of the building lies in rubble nearby.

Vault 101

The only surviving vault of the capital wasteland. The inhabitants of the vault have opened the entrance to the vault and regularly leave to conduct trade with other settlements. It is a custom of the vault that all members must venture out of the vault on their own apon turning 19 and explore the wastes for a full year. In this manner the vault residents become more experienced in survival as well and learn how to properly defend themselves. Even though they have alot of good technology the new brotherhood has not been able to get to it as the vault simply seals the entrance whenever they come near. Not even liberty prime has proven to be effective in infiltrating the vault's defenses making them the first settlement to successfully foil the brotherhood's plans.

Vault 87

the home of the super mutants. All people captured by the super mutants are brought here to be turned into super mutants adding to their army. While the brotherhood new that this was the home bade of the supermutants they could never get to it. The entrance was sealed off and had deadly levels of radiation surrounding it and the back entrance was through little lamplight who wouldn't allow the brotherhood passage through. After the brotherhood's regime change and ghouls moved into little lamplight the brotherhood decided that it was no longer a goal worth pursuing and figured that any super mutants they encountered on the outside had no chance against them and liberty prime. As a result the super mutants have remained a constant presence and threat in the area.

Underworld

located in the museum of national history underworld is a haven for ghouls. With the brotherhood and supermutants in the area they rarely have to contend with scavengers, slavers, or mercenaries. And as long as they stay out of the way neither group goes out of their way to harass them. However after the settlement of ghouls in lamplight started aiding the super mutants humans have started hating the ghouls in underworld as well despite their lack of involvement. As such people tend to attack ghouls from underworld as punishment for the crimes done by the ghouls from lamplight. In response underworld no longer allows humans inside unless accompanied by a ghoul who is known and trusted by the community.
