Rules
Follow these, or risk the wrath of the Peacekeepers!
Basic Regulations
-Follow Gaia TOS
-Listen to the crew, the VC's, and the Captain
-Please post at least once a week. We have a one-month banning rule, so unless you have posted in the absences thread, you will be banned after one month of inactivity.
-When speaking OOC, please distinguish in some way (ie [[Brackets]], a different color,
a separate OOC section of your post format)
-This RP is semi lit to lit. This means no chatspeak or txt talk, a solid paragraph per post (five sentences min, unless you've got writers block, in which case an exception can be made)
-Keep it PG-16. Yes, romance and violence are wonderful and encouraged, but if it gets too gory or steamy, please either timeskip or take it to PM's. Wonderful. Thanks.
-NO Godmodding. Yes, tributes will eventually have to destroy each other, but this will be decided by set rules. I'll explain later.
How things work in-game
-A year in-game is equivalent to three months IRL. (In Real Life)
-The reapings will take place on the third day of each new year in-game. That means a reaping will take place once every 3 months.
-Characters who aren't tributes can RP however they'd like within their District.
-Tributes will follow a set schedule over the year, just like in the book. There will be the tribute parade, the training sessions, etc. Those chosen as tributes will receive schedules upon being chosen.
-Keep in mind when creating a character that if he or she becomes a tribute, there is a very good possibility he or she may die. With this in mind, you can adjust their age and the amount of tesserae they receive to make selection more or less likely.
-The actual Games will start around the beginning of the second month and will continue until the last tribute stands. The games will end by the start of the third week of the last month, so if there are tributes left when nearing that time, the gamemakers may begin to take charge.
Here's how the reapings work:
-All characters between the ages of twelve and eighteen will roll dice to determine who becomes that district's tribute.
-Twelve-year-olds will roll one four-sided die, thirteen-year-olds will roll two four-sided die, and so forth.
-When characters receive tesserae, they add one die to their roll for each one they purchase.
-Characters may receive one tessera per family member.
-The character with the highest roll in their gender group for their district is that district's tribute. Unless...
-ONE character may volunteer to take the place of the tribute. If your character WAS tribute, and someone volunteered, making you angry, deal. That's how it works.
-Once tributes are selected, players will be briefed on how the year will play out, how characters get their scores from individual training sessions, how actual combat will work in the arena, and all that jazz.
Now go sign the rules.
