Arefu and Meresti service tunnel

The settlement of Arefu and the nearby settlement of Meresti, home to the "family". Despite issues in the past the two groups had developed a stable relationship. In which the citizens of Arefu trade blood packs to the "vampires" at Meresti in exchange for protection from the family. As a result both groups prospered until the new brotherhood took over. Seeing the family as nothing but cannibals the brotherhood waged a genocidal "purge" against them. The citizens of Arefu tried to intervene and as a result both the settlement of Arefu was burned down and explosives were used to collapse the Meresti tunnel leaving them both uninhabitable. though some managed to escape the town is nothing but a ghost town now.

After a long period of travel the two mismatched soldiers came upon the high way road that led up to the settlement of Arefu.... well former settlement of Arefu. Anders motioned for her to stay put and made his way up high way ramp to investigate what the settlement looked like. What greeted him was nothing but ash that vaguely resembled the outlines of houses and shacks. "Corporal get up here, no hostiles detected, to think the brother hood could so thoroughly destroy at town like this, nothing short of a couple dozen mini nukes could cause such collateral" The idea of the Brotherhood having access to a ready supply of nukes wasn't a comforting one, but still if they did it meant they'd have to be even quieter when they worked close to DC.

Keyes had brought up their rear but at Ander's orders came straight to him the sight was not a pretty one. "Why...Who would do this they were only civs" Sarah turns away from the pillars of rising smoke and holds back tears afraid to show emotion in front of her comrade. "Whats next,do you think there are any survivors?" Sarah noted after composing herself her hand now resting firmly on her .32.

Anders crouched down and took off one of his gloves. He scooped up a hand full of ash and despite what the nearby smoke would suggest it was cold, not only that, but he couldn't feel the usual burn that came with radiation. "negative, all signs point to this happening a few days ago if not before that. If any one did survive then they've all ready moved on. As for motive, civs probably got disobedient. If we were this good at shutting down dissenters we probably wouldn't even have to be here " he could tell the sight made her uncomfortable, but that didn't stop him from saying it anyways. The Red Barons were never above taking out a settlement for acting up, its just they never had the equipment to do so on such a scale, or so thoroughly. Though he didn't blame her for being sensitive to it. It all ways took soldiers a while to realize that they weren't exactly fighting for the "good guys", and until then they seemed to hold a much more idealistic view of the Barons. "anyways what we're looking for isn't here, split up and do some recon around the area. Try to find anything that might act as an entrance to the train station"

"Yes Sir!" Sarah shot back but held most of the anger in her voice,
She moved across the expanse and started working out the perimeter not that there was much of one.
Sarah turns around a crumbled wall her .32 leadin the way ready to blow away any enemy.
There is nothing there so she keeps moving finally she eyes a satchel burned a bit but other wise intact

Anders made his way back down the high way ramp and walked out towards what looked like the remains of a street corner. On one side were nothing but boarded up buildings, on the other was a small corner store, and between the two sides was a stair way that lead down into the metro tunnels. Knowing to avoid the metro tunnels he instead opted for the corner store. Inside were a few basic supplies: some nuke colas in the freezer sections, various junk food strewn around, and about half a whole case of salsbury steak. "well...better than nothing" he said gathering the things together behind the counter so the pick up crew could come gather it later. He stopped when he heard a scuttling noise. He spun around and readied his rifle only to see a radroach scuttling across the floor. With a sigh he lowered his weapon and stabbed the bug with his combat knife, not wanting to pointlessly waste ammo.

Keyes shook her head at the steady sun beaming down on her.She didnt mind it to much but it served as an irritation,Looking to find some shade she moved closer toward the darkening tunnels. all her instincts being human after all stayed on high she expected a ghoul or something inhuman to attack her and drag her into the deepening darkness.Instead she heard radio chatter *Were on our way out there are no survivors* Sarah's eyes go wide and she ambles away and sprints back up the hill sliding back behind the crumbled wall from earlier just in time to avoid being seen.The red baron let out a sigh of relief "...Anders" sarah grabbed her scope and angled it into the suns rays "Look come on look" the woman repeated as she hoped her comrade could realize her warning signal as an entire squad of brotherhood numbering at least six poured out of the tunnel entrance.

(really sorry for being gone so long, my computer died and i just now found an alternative)

anders heard her message over his com link and slowly made his way out of the corner store. he could tell from her tone that something was up. he slowly made his way back to her position, using the nearby buildings and the large rails that led down into the metro tunnels as cover. when he reached back to her he took her scope and instantly understood the situation. "six tangos on our 12, betas" he said, beta being the code name for the brotherhood. "corporal how are you on armor piercing rounds?" he wanted to take the opertunity to take them out, a good chance to thin them out and salvage their suits, and keep them from reporting whatever they found inside meresti, but if they didn't have adiquete equipment he wasn't going to take the risk. As he asked her he placed the scope down and swapped out his magazine for one with AP bullets.

Sarah stifled the com with her hands "I've got about two clips" she whispered as she set about arming her AR with the piercing rounds.
"Should we come in loud and strong?" her hand holding a flashbang to where he could see.

Anders nodded and pulled out a flash bang of his own. "two at the back have a Flamer and GL respectively, aim for them first and work your way up, focus on the chest and head, I'll disarm them" there armor wouldn't hold up long against their energy wrapons, so destroying their weapons quickly would be key to victory. he signaled for them to move up and they slowly advanced forward until they were back at the corner store and within firing range. he counted down with his fingers and on 1 he pulled the pin from his flash bang "blind em" he whispered tossing his flash bang around the corner.

Sarah pulled her pin as well and lobbed the flashbang grenade into the group of enemies. Without hesitation she lifted her AR and took careful aim. Lettign out short bursts she nailed her first two targets along their abdomens. The power armor was weak near the belt and she took advantage of this.Her next shots were precise and with her sharpshooting skills an assault rifle handled as well as a sniper. She focused drew her breath slowly exhaled and let off two bursts the first crippling the most front brotherhood operative bringing him to his knees and the second turning his head into a block of swiss cheese.

anders poped out from around the corner and provided assistance. as the two heavy troops readied their weapons anders let loose with his rifle. he shot the hands of the one holding the gattling laser, forcing him to drop it right before keyes finished him with her two bursts of fire. he then turned his attention to the one with the flamer. the operative was still disorientated by the flash bang allowing anders to rush forward and shoulder charge him knocking him off balance and sending him stumbling towards two of his allies. he then raised his rifle and shot through the flamers fuel tank causing it to explode killing the wearer instantly and knocking the other two off their feet. he then jumped back and ducked behind the corner to reload.

Sarah provided scattering covering fire while Anders reloaded. "s**t im empty!" As if on instinct she dropped the AR to her side and drew her .32 and aimed determined to give her lieutenant the time needed to defeat these adversaries.

Anders reloaded as keyes provided a distraction. the two brotherhood knights that had been knocked down by the flamer explosion were trying to stagger to their feet as tne other two remaining knights readied their laser rifles and opened fire on keyes. Anders finished reloading and snuck around the other end of the corner store so he could flank them. once he was in position he opened fire shooting their rifles right out of their hands leaving them for keyes to finish off though the bullets from her .32 harmlessly pinged off their armor. anders then turned his attention to the downed knights and shot and crippled their legs before they could get back up.
