The Ring of Power had been found again. ‘The hearts of men are easily corrupted.’ What about the hearts of women? This is a roleplay between myself and Gold_Okami_bara, finally.
Character list:
[ Cannon ] Legolas-[Elf, Played by Klainer] Merry-[Human, Played by Klainer] Pippin-[Human, Played by Gold_Okami_bara] Sam-[Human, Played by Klainer] Arwen-[Elf, Played by Gold_Okami_bara] Boromir-[Human, Played by Gold_Okami_bara] Gimli- [Dwarf, NPC] Gandalf- [Wizard, NPC] ( More will be added as the story develops )
[ OC's ] Gold_Okami_bara-[Info: Avalon, Human, Female, To take the place of Frodo, To be paired with Legolas.] Gold_Okami_bara-[Info: Name, Race, Gender, To be paired with _____] Klainer-[Info: Anelia, Human, Female, To take the place of Aragorn, To be paired with Arwen.] Klainer-[Info: Elora, High Elf, Female, To be paired with Pippin.]
Note: Obviously, I edited several things including some of the characters races to better fit our story. I wanted to keep all of the original characters, save for the two our OC's replace, because obviously it wouldn't be too much fun to just have those four characters running around. If there's a character you don't want to play and I have you listed as him, just let me know what character you want to swap for and I'll change it. (: NPC's will be played by both of us whenever the need arises.~

A tall young woman, slender and cloaked sat crouched before an outstretched lane, a path burrowed through tall grass which appeared to have been made by a horse. Exactly the horse she was tracking, or rather not the horse, but its Rider. It had been a long time since the earth had felt the hoof beats of the Rider she tracked, the Black Rider. There were nine of them to be exact, but the one she sought was particularly important, as it had a one particular destination in mind, or so were her thoughts. She had heard the whispers, a faint rumor here and there that the Ring of power had found its way back into the hands of men, and Aniela, as this ranger was called, didn’t have the highest of faith in the race of men. And if this Rider had indeed stumbled upon the bearer of said Ring which she so hoped (and at the same time, she prayed against it) it was in her best interest, and indeed the entirety of Middle Earth, that she got there before it could.
She stood suddenly, as though some noise or faint movement had caught her attention. And then just as quickly she was off, cutting her own path through the tall grass. The sun had fallen well below the horizon by the time she finally made it to Bree, and even then it took another good half hour to convince the gate keeper, that she was to be allowed in, after explaining several times that it was urgent she arrived on time to meet a friend at The Prancing Pony, and then to cut through the village to its center where the Inn lay.
It was every bit as loud, every bit as rowdy, every bit as friendly as she’d remembered as she pushed her way through the doors that lead inwards. Immediately she was greeted by the Inns owner, a friendly, round-faced man by the name of Butterbur, but she brushed off all offer of ale in favor for a seat towards the back of the pub. From that spot, she scanned the crowd that had gathered both around her and in all places of the pub, searching for any guest, standing or sitting, that looked to be quite out of place, as she suspected whoever that Black Rider was searching for had not yet been to this part of their lovely world, or at least was not yet used to such travel.
A small group of four humans sat in the midst of the pub, each holding a half drank mug of ale between their palms. Not one of them could have managed to look more discouraged. Sam peered down at the golden brown liquid, trying to come up with something to break the weary silence that had grown between them. Merry’s gaze wandered aimlessly, he had long since given up search for any familiar face, and, as Sam, had come to the conclusion that Gandalf was not going to arrive. “We shouldn’t stay here longer than one night, not with those Riders tracking us.” He spoke, earning a nod of agreement from Sam. “If Gandalf doesn’t arrive by dawn, we should continue on as he instructed.” The gardener added after a moment, and it wasn’t just his desire to see the elves that fueled that comment. Indeed, they were bound for Rivendell, but now that they had arrived the warmth of the Inn almost seemed intoxicating after their less than pleasant romp across the Shire. It was certainly more welcoming than what was likely to come.

Sam of course had known from the start exactly where they were going, and what it was that Elongwy was carrying, and in all honesty he felt a bit guilty for keeping it from the others, as it was quite obviously dangerous. They were already being followed, tracked, and they had only just left the Shire. He kept his thoughts to himself though, as speaking of his doubts in such a way would likely only succeed in holding them back, and it was very important that they made it to Rivendell without notice. “I do hope Gandalf shows up.” He spoke quietly, hardly aware that he had spoken at all. It went without saying; they were all frightened, of both what they had seen, and what they had yet to see.
The warmth and cheer of the pub was welcoming, but as inviting as it was it couldn’t completely chase away that anxious feeling left by Gandalf’s absence. Merry, who was usually good at spotting signs of unrest, didn’t sense any ill will from the group around them. Most were too drunk to stand on their own feet, and those who could wobbled around aimlessly, and even if something, say a fight, were to break out he doubted any of them could hit their way out of a paper bag. Nothing they couldn’t handle, but it wasn’t men that concerned him. Those Riders, whoever they were, obviously weren’t human. He didn’t know what they wanted with his friend, or why it was that they were following the group, but he couldn’t shake the distinct feeling that they meant Elongwy harm.
He had noticed her, those pale slender fingers checking the fabric of her pocket every couple minutes as if by habit, and he was curious. He’d heard whispers of the conversations between her and Sam, something about a Ring, and elves, so he had his suspicions.

Sam wasn’t going to lie, as much as he would have liked to have stayed there, watching the door until that all too familiar, hooded grey figure appeared, the thought of sleeping in an actual bed was a bit too tempting. He pushed to his feet, and shortly after Merry did the same, giving Pippin a light smack on the shoulder. “C’mon Pip.” A night of good rest would only do them good at this point, and sitting around waiting for someone who probably wasn’t going to come would do more harm than good. That was his reasoning, at least. Merry couldn’t seem to shake the feeling of doubt that had settled over him as he followed closely after the others. If Gandalf wasn’t coming, they would have to continue on without him. But how was that possible, if none of them had ever been this far from home before? Using the land, the stars to guide them, that was impossible when they didn’t know where it was that they were going.
There was something much too suspicious about that group, and it was obvious they weren’t too experienced in hiding themselves, their conversations or indeed what they were up to, as Aniela had heard, several times in fact, mention of one Gandalf, whom she knew quite well as it turned out. Gandalf was a man of his word, true to those who trusted him. If he was late for a promised appointment, it only meant the worst, and that greatly worried her. She watched as the four abandoned their table, and their drinks, and headed off, no doubt to a room previously paid for. As soon as they vanished from her sight, she stood and followed cautiously after them. Though their words had all but confirmed her suspicions, she didn’t want to risk a run in with the wrong people, as that would draw unwanted attention to all of their situations.
