Reborn - Command Deck

The Reborn's target spun to port. She tracked her turbolasers to neutralize their engines. The corvette accelerated. The acceleration would be for naught, though. Soon, the Naboo fighters would be eliminated and finish the job.

"Focus ion fire on those engines," Captain Sier directed. "They must not make it to Naboo."

A faint pulse emanated from the corvette's engines before the ion fire could track. One of the engines exploded. Then another, setting off a chain reaction that left all but two of their thrusters damaged or destroyed. Ion fire impacted. The hull around the corvette's propulsion smeared red with heat. The corvette's hull ruptured, sending it into a pirouette. Flames briefly gushing out of the detaching engines before being snuffed out by the vacuum. That corvette had no way to go anywhere, anymore. They had no way to steer. The Reborn advanced towards the corvette and the engaged fighters, activating its point-defense systems in an attempt to snuff out the few remaining.

"Inform the Corruo that the Alliance patrol ship is disabled," Captain Sier announced. "We will be moving into Naboo orbit, shortly."

Naboo - Theed/City outskirts
Elysia

Elysia had picked up on the noise behind her, only looking back with the faceless helmet for a quick glance, before taking a sharp turn passed oncoming traffic, down into a different street. The moment the vehicle was heading straight forward again, she drew her blaster again with her right hand and looked back once more.

"Stay put."

It was al she said, before she focused back on the road, veering aside just in time in order not to hit crossing pedestrians. For now, she doubted he would try something, if he even could in his condition. She regretting not cuffing him before, though. She'd been careless in her rush to escape.

Taking two more quick right turns, followed by a left through crowded paths speeder's weren't mean to pass through, she headed straight for the city gate. She looked back one last time for possible pursuers, before suddenly placing her gun holding hand next to her helmet, hitting a button to accept an incoming comm-call.

"Not now, D... little busy."

Before anyone on the other side could respond or protest, she quickly broke off the connection and fired a few shots forward with her blaster, scaring away people near the city gate as she headed straight at, planning to leave the city in order to make her escape through the forest wilderness.

Naboo - Theed

Kal's driver's voice was distorted. He couldn't tell if they were a man, a woman, or both, as with some species. He felt weak and trembling all over. He pressed his free hand to his stomach. There wasn't much in the way of capillaries between the hard stomach muscle and dermal skin layer. Echani cyborgs required less blood than most organics, but losing large quantities was still not a good idea. His shirt felt very wet beneath his hand, and he knew he needed help.

"I'm Royal Security Forces," Kal said hoarsely as the speeder accelerated towards the city boundaries. "You don't know who you're messing with."

Kal grabbed his driver's arm, pausing briefly as he made an telepathic connection to their mind. He reached out and extended his influence, clouding their judgement.

"You want to slow the speeder down," Kal suggested. "You want to take me to the Naboo Royal Security Forces."

Kal wondered vaguely if he should have practiced more with Force persuasion and mind control. It was not often needed for him in the city of Theed and he'd grown more accustomed to using more practical Force abilities to assist him. They were approaching Theed's outer walls, now. Kal leaned forward and tried again, gripping the driver's shoulder harder to cope with the pain more than anything.

The Corruo - Visum's Quarters
Irella/Visum

She heard footsteps coming down the hallway, troopers were heading her way and they were coming in fast from the only direction she could go in, besides heading back to the throne room. As they rounded the corner, she released her breath and watched them aim straight at her.
Elite shocktroopers.
They weren't going to try and detain her, nor even try to negotiate with her. They were here simply to stop her at any means necessary.

Her lightsaber switched one, moving in an arc before her, the very moment the blaster fire started. She deflected a steady stream of blaster-fire back at one of the troopers, then leapt forward, pushing the remaining troopers off balance with the force, landing on the ball of her feet before them. She used her momentum to spin on her foot, cutting down the troopers standing before in a wide arc, quickly followed by jumping to her right and ramming her shoulder into another that had been ready to fire her, knocking him down on the floor along with the trooper standing behind him.

In close proximity to them, she saw them quickly trying to change their weaponry to short-range batons, as not to fire on their own, in the crowd. Using this situation to her advantage, she jumped and ran passed them, slipping through their lines. She moved like a Tooke in the forest's of Naboo, quick and agile, until she could dart forward further down the hallway.

Blaster-fire was quick to follow her. She managed to make a right turn just in time to avoid it, only to notice that all the elevators on the floor had been disabled. All the control panels had a small light blinking, notifying anyone that were offline. The shocktroopers behind her were already closing in, so she did the only thing she could and that was to run as fast as she'd ever had. Taking as many twists and turns as she could in an attempt to shake off pursuit.

That is when she noticed it, an all to familiar door in the section of personal quarters that once been used by Raven's elite. Standing before it, she slowly moved her hand to the access panel, then layed it against the scanner. The controls chimed and the doors opened, welcoming her inside. At first glance, nothing had changed in the room, except that it had been kept maintained by cleaning droids. Hearing the noise of footsteps gaining up to her, she quickly stepped forward and closed the door behind her. She waited for a short moment, to listen if anyone had seen her or knew that she was here. After waiting for a few minutes, which in all seemed to take an eternity, she slumped down with her back against the door.

"...What I wouldn't give for some help, right about now..."

Naboo - Theed
Elysia

"I..."

For a moment she seemed to pause, gun held slack in her hand. Something inside of her told her that she wanted to listen to him. Something... that wasn't her.
The grip on her blaster tightened and she turned abruptly, knocking his hand off of her shoulder. The cold, blank expression of the helmet merely stared at Kal in response as the speeder continued to rush forward towards the city gate. Slowly she lowered the blaster, until it came down at Kal's face, where it paused once more.

"So, the infamous Jedi mind trick, huh?" She said, her tone near mockingly. "Interesting. I've never had anyone try that on me before in a real situation. It's a good thing she prepared me well."

Grabbing a tight hold of his arm, she activated her jetpack and jumped up and over the wall, pulling Kal with her. As the speeder continued onward, it crashed at full speed into the gate, causing enough destruction to obstruct anyone from an immediate pursuit.

"What I want.. is what the Sith are paying for you. Didn't you know, someone called Isani placed a price on your head. You were bound to be found sooner or later."

The Corruo - The Empress' quarters
Ensis

Her body stirred slightly within the healing goop she floated in, within the large tank. Slowly her body and mind regained their senses as the highly potent and rare kolto healed her completely.
She could sense something was amiss, outside of the Corruo. They'd arrived at Naboo, but from what she could detect, their arrival had not been a welcome one.

She could sense her aides working hard at the stations of the medical equipment, obviously they had noticed her stirring and knew she was waking up. It was still too soon, though. She didn't quite feel at a hundred percent, yet. However, she felt strong and confident enough. She could sense the Admiral had been managing the battle in Naboo space quite well, but since their arrival was not much of a surprise, she might as well announce herself to the prey she had come to hunt.

She focused hard, taking in as much of the city of Theed as she could muster, then allowed her force signature to resonate throughout it. Letting it pulse, almost like a beacon for every Force user or sensitive present, telling them the one thing; She was coming.

Naboo - Theed Perimeter

Before Kal could respond, the bounty hunter seized his arm tightly and dragged up, up into the air, over a high stone wall. The pain from his mid-riff was agony. He nearly cried out but was mesmerized by the pieces of speeder that bounced off of the masonry that made up one of the Theed boundaries. They continued boosting on, Kal dangling painfully by the hunter's grip.

"What I want... Is what the Sith are paying for you," the hunter declared, their voice muffled from the helmet. "Didn't you know... Someone called Isani placed a price on your head. You were bound to be found sooner or later."

Kal jerked his head up.

"Isani Loren, the Jedi Master...?" Kal asked, chuckling despite the pain. "Someone's fooling you, friend. She left the Empire a long..."

Kal paused. A dark presence touched him. It was not similar to Stryfe's signature, when he reached out earlier, nor was it like Isani's, back when she had served the Empire. No, this was something different. This was a cold, alluring danger, like an angler arachnid on Yavin IV, luring unsuspecting prey with its' "roots". It felt distant, yet clear. Kal wondered if it might have been the hunter's contact.

"I'm warning you one last time," Kal replied. "Relinquish me or I'll give you something that the Empire gave me."

Kal wasn't yet sure what he was going to "give" his kidnapper, but he had to try something. He wasn't strong enough right now to make a stable landing on the ground without assistance, and mind tricking his captor had already failed. He suspected he'd need to come up with a solution, soon.

Corruo - Naboo Orbit

"So, the Naboo installed energy shielding," Cidreau mused.

The holo-display lit Cidreau's and the Corruo's newly promoted Executive Officer's face. It portrayed the city of Theed, five times larger than it's historical size during the Clone Wars and entirely enveloped by a dome of ray shielding four time larger than that. Outside of it, Naboo military flight craft were abuzz.

"Yes, Admiral," the XO acknowledged. "We can't penetrate it with an orbital bombardment, even with the axial superlaser, but we can enter it on foot."

"How long will it take to get boots on the ground?" Cidreau inquired.

"The Reborn is already deploying their modular garrison," the XO said. "We can supplement their forces with our own AT-AT walkers. If we deploy now, they can be on the ground by 2000 hours, local time."

"Get them down there ASAP, Captain," Cidreau commanded. "Give me a sit-rep on our intruder."

"Troopers made contact with the intruder--"

"Excellent!"

"--and lost sight of her again."

"Son of a hutt!"

"The throne has been secured and they conducting a sweep of the deck, now," the XO finished. "It's only a matter of time, sir."
