I just started watching Brotherhood, and I've noticed quite a few changes from the original Anime I watched, but I like it. It feels a little more realistic... although I miss the sound of American Ed's voice, lol. Downside to FMAB, I guess. I'm only on episode 26, but it's got me hooked!

I just want a little bit of a hint/spoiler.

Will Brotherhood's story-line still connect with the movies?

If you didn't know, FMA Brotherhood corresponds with the manga, so it's not supposed to be anything like the first anime (besides the main idea of the story, obviously...)

So if you want spoilers (or the rest of the story for that matter), read the manga!

I most definitely like the manga better than either of the animes.

As far as the animes are concerned though, Brotherhood has the better plot (as Angels Storm said it follows the story line of the manga) but the original has a much better production quality (art, soundtrack, pacing, etc.), probably because they didn't rush through it as they did brotherhood. (at least in the begining. I will admit that it got better as it went on -- though still never as good as the manga.)

I love FMA: Brotherhood! X3 It sticks with the manga storyline so therefore it's sticking to the artist's original plans, though Hiromu Arakawa did tell the creators of the first series to change it so that it was completely different from the manga.

Yeah, I already knew it was based from the manga, but that's why I wanted to see it. I don't read those too often anymore, for a while I used to read Shonen Jump religiously, I have a stack to the ceiling in my closet. However, as I got older I realized. Why read when someone paid 100 chinese kids 2 cents an hour to draw it all out for me at 60 frames a second!? I'm not okay with that >.> but this is the price I pay for not wanting to read... or carry around magazines with me everywhere.

Oh and btw, I like how quick this storyline moves... It's the way it should be. I didn't like how the anime took an entire year to explain 1 part.

Oh, I am one of those rare people that FMA fans want to brick because I actually choose the original FMA animated series over Brotherhood. Now, I KNOW that Brotherhood is based off of the original storyline and manga, and I KNOW that after like episode 25 or so of the original animated series they ran out of manga to animate to and created their own story line and essentially f***ed up the creator's story line. Please, PLEASE don't jump down my throats with that, you have no idea how many other fans already have. However, the original animated series is what introduced me to the Fullmetal Alchemist series in the first place, with out it, I wouldn't have a clue that there even was a manga... actually, what I thought happened was the the manga was created after the anime in order to expand on the story line (kind of like what they did with some of the Gundam series). Of course now I know that this is no longer the case. I have been educated, I have looked things up, I am no longer ignorant. If I were to choose anything, I would have to go with first animated series, then manga, then Brotherhood... of course, this is only because I have heard from many a fan that Brotherhood is terribly rushed, and that the art and music don't live up to the first series. Now I am not only talking about what was posted in this thread, I've spoken to fans at conventions, and fans on other forums... while people are happy that Brotherhood was created, there are still complaints about it, which kind of makes me roll my eyes, but whatever. This is not to say that I never want to see Brotherhood, I do, because I do want to form my own opinion of it, I want to be educated, however, I am going to have to take the manga version before I take the animated version. When it comes to the poll choice though... Well, first animated series, then Brotherhood, and that's just my personal preference.

I'm also more of a FMAB fan. I loved the manga more so than FMA. Mostly some of ideas in the manga made more sense to me than what they came up with in FMA. True the first 14 episodes was rushed, but the first FMA covered pretty much the inbetweens until episode 25 with a quite a bit of filler until then.

We also have to remember that a good number of people already seen FMA so why remake what most already know and seen. For FMAB the major aspects were animated and some other little important forshadowing details were added in as background. Also the animated style in FMAB follows the manga drawing style more closely and in my opinion it's so when they are seen they can be more different.

Brotherhood is much more true to the story-line, many of us were expecting, when they cranked out the first FMA. It was good, but felt like a lot of "filler" as apposed to the manga, and the Brotherhood series sticks to it and in my opinion is also much better anyway.

In my opinion it is the same as the two flips of the coin. The realities are pieced together differently in both animes. So as a result, you get two amazing versions of the story line. One completely free-handed. The other more to the manga!

I'm a fan of Brotherhood. smile I found it to be more entertaining. I also loved the characters in Brotherhood. For example, Pride (Selim), is one of my favorite characters. I love the fact that he's a homunculus, and yet in the original he's just a normal boy. That's just my opinion though.
