Character: Derych Kain [x]
Technique Name: Earthen Shrapnel
Rank: B
Type: Ninjutsu, Bloodline
Element: Doton, Bakuton
Description: Derych for an additional cost can infuse his Doton with his physical Bakuton chakra, rigging it for explosion upon contact. When an opposing force would strike the Doton (Earth created by the jutsu Derych had used) It will explode outward, towards the source of the impact. The Earth will shrapnel outward doing B rank damage. After 4 of the users posts go by the Bakuton chakra within the Doton will fizzle and it will return to normal Doton.

Thanks for waiting!

Partial Wind Aura: Got a couple of questions before we make a decision.
  1. Does this confer any mechanical benefits? (i.e. Strikes with affected limbs are treated as wind element; increased speed/strength/etc.; things of that nature.)
  2. How big is the effect?
  3. How long does it last?

Pad Chief
Cardinal's Seal of Commandment: Just want to confirm I understand how this works:
  • You have a permanent seal, into which you inscribe smaller seals that contain Jutsu. Those Jutsu are automatically activated if a certain condition is met.

If so, this can be done by a combination of Fuuin already present in the guild (though the seal would probably cover your entire body due to size). I have no problem with this being a custom, but the primary benefits would come from specifying that it's a smaller size and from freeing up the slots you'd use on learning those other techniques. If that's not the case, could you point out what I missed/misunderstood?

Command Seal: Overflowing Knowledge: Is the cost of the technique the target's being made to use paid by you or them? Typically with techniques that force behavior or an outcome, there will be a method to break free for the afflicted, typically involving Chakra/Stamina expenditure at the rank of the technique. We'd like to see something like that added as well.

pneumadragonfly
Red Seed Seal: Storage of Chakra is denied without some sort of hefty drawback. If that's not a dealbreaker, then the range of possible effects and their costs needs to be outlined better. Going along with your example: How much would an increase to speed cost per DR? How much would you pay for something less easily quantified, like sharpened hearing?

Odoeb
Demon Mirror: Approved.

Lily Platypus
Komyunikeeshon no Hanabira: Approved. I'm not sure how the X-Rank figures in if it's E-Rank to use, but I imagine it comes into play with the Fuuin.

HeadlessKoko
Kiritani Hidden Technique: Endless Masquerade: What's the duration on this? Bump the rank up to B.

Kazuraii
Earthen Shrapnel: Knock the damage dealt down to C-Rank and you're approved.

I actually already quantified how much each would cost in the original description?
Every time the seal is activated, X amount of chakra is taken from the stored chakra (if one uses the seal to raise the rank of a ninjutsu by 1, the amount of chakra used is equal to the original rank of the technique +10. If the attribute is not used on a technique/jutsu the cost is equal to the sealing jutsu itself (40 chakra)). Once the sealed chakra is depleted, the object and seal then break, releasing whatever object was stored and leaving the housing item unusable.

If used with an attack (if activated when you are also making an attack so that attack has one extra DR), the cost is of the attack itself, plus 10 extra chakra. So if you were to make an attack that cost 20 chakra, the seal would need 30 chakra to activate from its reserves.
Conversely, if the seal is used for slightly better hearing (as it's not being used to enhance an attack), the cost is a flat rate of 40 (the same amount as the rank of the seal itself). Which would mean a red seal (if it had stored chakra) could only be used four times for B ranked abilities outside of attacks before it breaks completely and a new one must be made.

If I need more elaboration; As per the rules, the storage of chakra, as mentioned, cannot be siphoned out by the user to use outside of the seal; it's exclusive to the use of the seal itself. Making a new seal would cost two activations in or out of battle. The amount of chakra stored is the max allowed for any seal ability if I recall. The seal also cannot be made on anything considered structurally weak. Wax, paper, brick, softer woods, plastics and even regular metal would be considered too flimsy to house the seal. So one cannot simply just make one on the fly.
Any animal or object used can only give a max of mild (2+) to any descriptive rank and cannot be sustained beyond an attack its used for. (this I hope makes sense since D rank jutsu cost 10 to use and mild is considered a D ranked DR. And even if it was only 1+ to a DR it would still be 10 extra chakra). Lets say that the definer for how much one gets from an animal is dependent on age. Babies give nothing, adolescents give 1+ and full fledged adults get 2+. For objects it's much more clear what gives what as the Moh's scale, Janka hardiness, Shore hardness, etc. as it's defined by hard evidenced numbers. Highest tier gives 2+, anything in the middle and lower gives 1+. There would also be some metals that give no DR increases at all like gallium.

If that's not enough, The seal itself could cost more to make. (the total amount it would take was 40 plus whatever amount of chakra you put in it, so 160 if you wanted the max it could hold). That would be a total of 200 chakra for a single red seed seal. One could also put less chakra in it and still get the same result (meaning if I spend 40 chakra plus 80 for the storage, the total it would cost would be 120). It could instead be a doubled amount of 400 to make one max seal. Or the doubled amount of whatever amount of chakra is put into it. One could also say that in order to fill the seal, one needs to be the appropriate rank for the amount (i.e. B rank can only put 40 chakra into the storage, A ranked shinobi can only put 80 into it and so forth.)

The reason it has a stored amount of chakra is for it to be an inhibitor for it. If it's able to siphon directly from the user's chakra itself, when would it break if at all? instead of draining itself, it simply breaks after four-ish activations regardless of the amount of chakra used for it? Or not even break at all and be a permanent item to be used forever? Part of it breaking was so that there was the potential to lose the item sealed inside forever and to force the character to use the activations sparingly. (and also keeping a living animal in there indefinitely seems kinda cruel)
It was a hope that a max 160 would have been sufficient (since it would only be able to hold a max of 160, S ranked abilities would not be compatible with it since it needs 10 extra chakra to use with it, and two A ranked abilities at the same time would also equally be unusable since two A ranked activations would need a total of 180 chakra. Anything exceeding the threshold would simply make it break without it conferring the boost to the attack).
There was also the drawback of a certain size being able to be put into the seal itself. That can be made smaller. would 1 square foot be more ideal?

But if that's not satisfactory, then I would definitely like to hear examples of what would be fair drawbacks. I would definitely like to make this an acceptable ability.

Kiritani Hidden Technique: Endless Masquerade: What's the duration on this? Bump the rank up to B.

The technique, itself, doesn't have a duration. It creates a permanent change in the body. It's basically unlimited plastic surgery work: the jutsu, but also, the work done by the technique is 100% a true biological change. And I'll go ahead and bump it to B.

Why? Is there some way to abuse this technique that I'm not seeing?

Character: Kagerou Uchiha
Technique Name: Kiritani Hidden Technique: Endless Masquerade
Rank: B
Type: Eiseijutsu
Element: n/a
Description: In short, a very physical and real version of Henge no Jutsu.
tab Derived from Ningeniro [Human Color], Endless Masquerade changes the physical shape and form of the body down to the finest anatomical details. Endless Masquerade can change color (any shade, natural or not), gender, alter age, and modify the body's proportions and various sizes. It is, however, limited by the limits of what the standard human body can handle, which are outlined below.
tab Barring certain genetic exemptions, such as the Akimichi, experimenting with Endless Masquerade has revealed that attempting extreme size changes with this technique leads to not only malfunctioning body parts but also severe bodily harm in extreme cases. Becoming a giant, it is not only impossible for the human body, even under the influence of ninja magic, to safely create enough matter to support such growth, but the circulatory and nervous systems cannot keep up with the sudden change in size. On the opposite end of the spectrum, trying to alter the body to anything smaller than 3' or so not only squeezes the inner anatomy of the body, which cannot be made to reduce in time, but also has a high chance of further complications arising when the target reverts back to his original size.
tab All in all, the safe limits of Endless Masquerade tend to hover between approximately 3' and 7' of height and their respective underweight and overweight weights. Proportions between body parts need to be kept within reason, being able to border on but not cross into "abomination" territory.
tab Because of the delicacy of this technique, even if it can be executed in a timely and easy manner with enough practice, the target of Endless Masquerade must be willing for Endless Masquerade to take effect.

Quoting you to let you know we're discussing it again and you're not getting ignored. Some things became clear from your explanation that I had misunderstood, and I want to make sure we're all on the same page over here. Will quote you again when I've got a proper response.

HeadlessKoko
Just wanted to confirm. There's a similar technique under Maruton (Kage Kagami Shinten no Jutsu, if memory serves) that operates similarly, but is much faster, much less invasive, and more costly. Bumping it up to B-Rank brings your technique more into line with that.
Approved.

Well the other consideration is that I could use this combination of techniques in conjunction with my own.

Due to my PAs I also have a lot more room to place seals than other RPCs so it's a serious consideration for me.

With seals is the act of applying the seal (through touch, a trap or otherwise) not sufficient as a way to resist the seal? It's not quite the same as a Genjutsu where you might not be able to resist the illusions without chakra usage.

Edited to clarify I'll be paying all stamina and chakra costs upfront though.

Red Seed Seal needs two changes, after further discussion:

1) It can't link with other fuuin or other instances of itself. This is to prevent some potential scaling issues someone pointed out during deliberations.
2) The effects need a duration. I think 3-5 posts is typical for a B-Rank technique.

Pad Chief
Approved, with that addition.

Whether it needs a way to resist it beyond simple evasion/prevention deals in large part with what sort of effect it has. Things that have ongoing or permanent negative effects are more likely to get one.

Could you define "linking" if you would? I don't understand what you mean by that exactly but I'm sure it's agreeable?

And alright, 5 post duration it is. I can add that to the original description after I get the greenlight from you guys.

There are ways to have multiple seals activate simultaneously, often combining their effects. This is what we call "linking". 5 sounds good.

Ah, well then that's equal. I can see where linking with other instances of itself could go wrong.
And as far as banning a whole branch of jutsu, I imagine I can deal with that as well. I didn't actually look into the Fuuinjutsu until now but Fuuin Tsunagu [ Seal Connection ], could make it quite broken, yes. I wish it didn't have to be the entire branch, but even now I haven't read the entirety of the fuuin available. But having one red seed seal linked with a second red seed seal would be a little OP under the right circumstances, I agree.

So if I understand correctly, I can still use fuuinjutsu regularly with her like sealing and unsealing jutsu while a red seed seal is in effect, yes? Like if slightly better hearing is being used for 5 turns but within those 5 turns I use a fuuin based technique (like Kaifuujutsu: Usuimon [ Unsealing: Rainwater Gate ]) for one of my battle activations against a person.

But if that's all, I can agree to both conditions, yes. The custom fuuin can't link with itself or other fuuin and cannot exceed an activation span of 5 turns.

Yeah, you can use other Fuuin like normal, they just can't be linked to the Red Seed Seal.

Character: Honō Hokori of the Hari Clan
Technique Name: Hazubeki Hyōji no Jutsu [ Shameful Display Technique ]
Rank: X [ Learned as E-Rank ]
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Maruton
Description:
Honō's chakra manifestation is utilised as an actual, physical, limb. It appears as a black, clawed hand, resembling that of a long-decayed corpse's or a stereotypical villain's clawed hand on a spider-leg-like arm. At E-Rank, only one arm may be utilised, with a length of one meter [ 1 ] / three foot [ 3 ]. It can utilise any and all tools and weapons the user knows, but only at the strength of the rank it was summoned at. So a D-Rank arm can swing a sword at D-Rank damage, but a C-Rank attack launched against the limb will 'destroy' the arm.

After initial summoning, the arms will last for three [ 3 ] posts before its initial cost needs to be paid again each post thereafter. There is a cool-down of one [ 1 ] post per rank of its cost before it may be summoned again.

For every rank this technique is used at, the caster gains an extra 'arm' of chakra to manipulate, plus the range is increased by one-and-a-half meters [ 1.5 ] / five feet [ 5 ]. However, an arm may be 'sacrificed' so another instead gains double that length.

Any arm 'destroyed' or 'sacrificed' may be regenerated when the user has to pay to maintain the technique (with any lengths gained from sacrificing being lost).

Character: Honō Hokori of the Hari Clan
Technique Name: Wareta Tokkuri [ Cracked Sake Flask ]
Rank: D
Style: Taijutsu - Suiken : Drunken Fist
Type: Passive
Description:
Similar to the Stage Six [ S ] technique 'Keg Party.' The user has a frail body and has previously damaged their chakra pathways, making him not only susceptible to the alcohol when he was consuming it, but now receiving a physical blow can cause an alcoholic aura to burst forth from where the user was damaged. It only has a range of half-a-meter [0.5] / one and-a-half feet [ 1.5 ], meaning only close combatants will be exposed to the alcoholic effects. Three successive hits in a row will have the combatant intoxicated as well. Five will result in them passing out. It takes a D-rank amount of chakra from the user for each hit.

Character: Honō Hokori of the Hari Clan
Technique Name: Gomu Choko [ Rubber Drinking Cup ]
Rank: X [ Learned as C-Rank ]
Style: Taijutsu - Suiken : Drunken Fist
Type: Complex
Description:
Being drunk (and most likely disorderly) usually means the ability to catch flying projectiles or attacks is very rarely seen - much less when done so 'on purpose.' This drunken individual isn't much of an exception, but time spent on the booze alongside with numerous things being found to have suddenly been 'sent' their way, they're body has decided that becoming the Choko is an acceptable response. The user's hands cup themselves, catching the thrown fist, leg, or weapon like a catcher's mitt. However, while the chakra being funnelled into the palms may negate incoming jutsu (if weak enough) the chakra of the user's elemental nature could also cause damage (if strong enough).

Suiton [ Water ] and Fuuton [ Wind ] chakra releases an alcoholic aura, Katon [ Fire ] and Raiton [ Electric ] chakra burns, and Doton [ Earth ] and Maruton [ Null Elemental ] chakra bruises. More than one chakra element may be used at a time at a D-Rank extra cost in chakra. No matter the rank this technique is used at, the elemental chakra does not exceed C-Rank in damage.

Character: Honō Hokori of the Hari Clan
Technique Name: Jiko Gisei no Jutsu [ Self Sacrifice Technique ]
Rank: X [ Learned as E-Rank ]
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Maruton
Description:
May be activated without handsigns, but requires double the cost. This is a technique only utilised out of desperation, as activating it will cause damage to the user at the same rank it was summoned. Whether this is from the fact that the chakra being utilised isn't being poured from a proper chakra point but rather scar tissue in his pathways, or it is a subconscious form of self-punishment, remains unclear. The manifestation of his chakra appears from any point on his body. It forms an emaciated, black, clawed hand, able to grasp onto something before violently dispersing. No sound is made, but damage equal to the rank is inflicted - onto both the target and the user.

Character: Fenrir
Technique Name: Pack Adoption
Rank: E
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Maruton
Description: Unlike most Tamers, Fenrir does make use of traditional pets in combat. Instead, he can use this ability to adopt another RPC into his pack. This allows that RPC to gain all the benefits from the tamer class, with the exception of mirroring elements. The size of the pack (up to four) determines which pet discipline the RPC's take after. This ability cannot be used while in combat and can be refused at any time by the adopted RPC. Fenrir may also remove any member from the pack himself.

Character: Fenrir
Technique Name: Blood Scent
Rank: D (Passive)
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Maruton
Description: All pack mates, through a conciousness effort, are capable of discovering the general location (thread) of other pack mates. Doing so, requires only that the pack mate spend chakra equal to this technique.

Character: Fenrir
Technique Name: Pack Mentality
Rank: D (Passive)
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Maruton
Description: All pack mates, through a conciousness effort, are capable of discovering the general mental state (emotions and stress) of other pack mates regardless of distance. Doing so, requires only that the pack mate spend chakra equal to this technique.

Character: Fenrir
Technique Name: Feral Bonds
Rank: D (Passive)
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Maruton
Description: Anytime a member of the pack is near one another, they may pay the cost of this techqniue in order to gain the learning bounsus of all pack members within a thirty-foot radius.

Character: Fenrir
Technique Name: Siren's Kriss
Rank: D (Passive)
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: Maruton
Description: A curse laid upon his bloodline, Fenrir suffers from a form of incurable lycanthropy. At any time he wishes—and sometimes even against his wishes—Fenrir may pay the cost of this jutsu to transform into a werewolf. The transformation into a werewolf is largely aesthetic but does allow for the use of teeth and claws.

Character: Fenrir
Technique Name: Overdrive
Rank: B
Type: Taijutsu
Element: Spiritual
Description: Activated just before Fenrir uses a combo, this ability allows the next ability in the combo to gain all special effects its predecessors. For example, if a punch had the text saying it granted a +1 to speed, then the kick that followed would gain a +1 to speed as well. The use of this ability doubles the activation reduction that follows after a combo.

Character: Fenrir
Technique Name: Battered
Rank: B
Type: Bloodline
Element: Black Steel
Description:
[I want to give a little bit of backstory for what I'm trying to create here. The general idea is my attempt at creating a custom hazard. Since I'm not entirely sure how to go about this, I would appreciate any feedback.]

Only able to be activated while some part of Fenrir's body is coated in Black steel. While this mode is activated, physical attacks with black steel cause a battered effect on the opponent. This causes an effect similar to a hazard and follows the same rules as such.

If the opponent is struck with the battered effect at least twice, they will take an extra rank of damage on the hit. This damage starts small (E-Rank) but grows as the body's defenses are momentarily left weakened. Each time the opponent is hit with this effect after the second application, the rank is increased by one, capping at S+. Unlike other hazards, this ability makes its mark by first weakening the body and then beating said body before it can recover. As such, there is only a single post window where successful physical contact must be maintained before the hazard resets. Duration of [3] posts.
