wacky laws

in Oklahoma there is a law that you are allowed to carry a loaded shotgun in the back of your stagecoach, if you are being pursued by wild Indians.

local courts have interpreted this to mean that anybody can carry a loaded rifle in their truck at any time, since the majority of citizens there do haver some Native American ancestry.

after all, it used to be Indian Territory.

Ok whatever your username is who posted those laws about Canada are not true.....where the ******** did you get those?.....i live in Ontario and none of those laws are ******** real......why the ******** does everybody have to ******** make stuff up about Canada when its not true cuz the next thing you know is theres a war about all the lies.....only True Canadians ((means you were born in Canada)) can make up jokes about anything that we do or say or whatever not outsiders

it seems to me that most of those Canada law things were not from Ontario, so for all you know it could be true for some other province, no?

i have spent the equivalent of two years in Canada and have been in every province save P.E.I.
Usually the people are extremely cordial.

Canada... bylaw says one cannot wash their own car in their driveway with anything but water, because the chemicals from the cleaner and wax get into the drains.

I live in Canada and never heard of those laws. They don't even make sense... drag a horse on Young St. on Sunday... Really question ?:

supposedly Oklahoma also has a law which prohibits fishing for whales.

California
1. It is a misdemeanor to shoot at any kind of game from a moving vehicle, unless the target is a whale.
2. Women may not drive in a house coat.
3. Animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school, or place of worship.


Florida
1. Women may be fined for falling asleep under a hair dryer, as can the salon owner.
2.It is illegal to sing in a public place while attired in a swimsuit.
3. When having sex, only the missionary position is legal. ......I soo laughed at this one till I almost wet myself.
4.Having sexual relations with a porcupine is illegal.
5. A special law prohibits unmarried women from parachuting on Sunday or she shall risk arrest, fine, and/or jailing.
6. Men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown.
7. If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle. ROFL


Louisiana
1. It is illegal to rob a bank and then shoot at the bank teller with a water pistol.


New York
1. A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting. This old law specifically prohibits men from turning around on any city street and looking "at a woman in that way." A second conviction for a crime of this magnitude calls for the violating male to be forced to wear a "pair of horse-blinders" wherever and whenever he goes outside for a stroll. Too funny
2.A license must be purchased before hanging clothes on a clothesline.
3. The penalty for jumping off a building is death.

Well the only one I can think of isn't actually a law, but two sets of laws?
California:

It is legal to have and use marijuana (weed), however according to federal laws to have enough for personal use is a misdemeanor and above that is trafficking which is a felony. If local state police/guard sees weed it's fine, but if there's a federal agent it's not. So you're allowed to, but also not allowed to and if you get caught, there's nothing the state of California can do.

Actually another one.
Oregon:
You cannot pump your own gas. (This one's actually kind of cool. The state has a program for the homeless to hire them as gas attendants by creating jobs through making it illegal to pump your own gas. I was weirded out by this, but it actually does save time.

I always thought it was funny/creepy when someone else (whom I didn't know) had to pump my gas for me, the reason that it was creepy, is that one time, a guy sat there & waited (even after I gave him a five dollar tip on twenty dollars worth of gas) & got mad at me when I was driving off (I mean I paid for the gas, & gave him a tip, so what was the friggin problem?!?...)...
