That subforum has been a hell-hole for quite some time now. I remember what it was like in 2004, 2005, 2006, and hell... even 2007 when seeing a troll or a spam topic was a pretty rare occurrence. Now it's half-and-half, and it is really saddening, especially for the people who have been there since the beginning.
Thing that sucks, though, is that it's not only the Harry Potter subforum. Pretty much all of the forums on Gaia have been taken over by trolls or threads that otherwise clutter the subs. I definitely think that the HP sub needs a full-time moderator who is willing to devote plenty of time to clean it up so that it has some hope of being what it was: a place for HP fans to talk HP. Ugh!
I do feel so out of the loop, though, since I am an old HP sub regular and only come around every now and then just because of the state of the subforum. However, even with the HP topics, maybe devoted to a ship or a house or what have you, I feel completely out of the loop with. D:
Must get back into the swing of things!~
