April 10, 2009.

Whew, today's already been a long day, and it's not over yet.

I had work the last few days. Sucks, as always. And staying until 2 in the afternoon for no reason is getting to everybody. Today was different! They come out and tell us that we have homework. I know, you're going WTF! They give us homework. I agree, it's stupid as f***. But the high honchos want us to have a really, really high level of knowledge, because being able to take a test is way more important than operating a reactor, apparently. Anyways, something really good came outta this. They told us that after we finished the homework, we can go home! I left at 10 a.m. today!!! blaugh That made all of us really happy, and I'm grateful cause it gave me the whole day to do stuff!

One thing I did find out was the status of my car. There was a lot more damage than anybody expected. All the damages totaled over 2000 dollars!!! Even worse, I won't get my car back until after I come back from this upcoming underway (April 14-20). gonk gonk scream I'm probably gonna turn my rental car in before we leave, cause it'd be useless stuck in some parking lot somewhere.

After I get home, I take a break, then go see Dragonball Evolution. The review for that one is in the I Sees It thread, and boy, this one is a shocker, believe me!

After the movie, me and my roommate go to Target, where he buys some stuff, and I buy some hair clippers! We head home, and the fun begins at last!!!

Here's what I looked like before I began.
User Image

After the shaving with the clippers, but before I took a shower and shaved the rest off with a razor, I looked like this.
User Image

Finally, after my looooooong shower, and after I shaved it all off with the razor, I now look like this!
User Image

I know my head looks a little lopsided, but that's just the angle of the camera. I suck at taking pics by myself.

I love how many people are participating in my little contest! Officially, I'm extending the deadline to after I get back, so as many people can have a chance at winning as possible. That, and I don't want to end the contest soon; its just too much fun!!! And I'm a tad disappointed that not many have taken advantage of the power ranger villains. There are a ton of villains in power rangers. If you have trouble finding one, just go to photobucket or possibly wikipedia and check them out. Everybody loves diversification! blaugh

On Monday I have duty, in which I start up the plants. From Tuesday the 14th to next Monday the 20th, I'll be gone on a small underway, going in circles once again. It'll be the last one until my surge, so I'm thankful of that. I'll try to get on on Monday, but I can't make any promises.

Tomorrow I go to see Observe and Report. As for the rest of the day, I'm just chillin, watching TV and eating some buffalo wings. Until next time!

$2k for your car? Thank God the other driver had insurance, that's all I can say! Ouch!

And as for the haircut, I think you look very, very nice! heart

Well, everybody! I'm not done for the night yet, but I thought I'd get this over with. Tomorrow, I'll be stuck on duty. Then on Tuesday I leave for a week, to come back on the 20th.

Just like I said last time I was gone, let's all try to not have any drama, or time paradox's.

AND EVERYBODY HAVE FUN!!!!! We got contests, we have awesome pics/videos, and if we don't have it, make a thread for it already!!!

And to boss-lady and everyone else that cares: don't you guys worry! I'll be back, and better than ever!

Until the 20th, everybody!

(though I'm not done for the night until later tonight)

It's 420! I didn't even remember. Why, cause I came back from the being underway!!! blaugh

Last Monday, I got to help start up one of the reactor plants. That was fun, except for the whole being delayed for many hours. PAIN! scream But we got through it and went underway, to go in circles in the middle of the ocean. It wasn't as bad as earlier underways, but still sucks cause we're gonna be heading towards the gulf next month, away from home for about 5 months. NOT LEGITIMATE!!!

I got to enjoy drills, which test how we respond to bad things happening in the plant, such as stuff breaking or fires and stuff. My drill sets were pretty calm, but still sucked. I did have a U/I for the second one though. U/I's (under instructions) are trainees that stand watch under our supervision, as they get familiar with the watchstation and how to do things. My U/I was pretty smart, but had very little operational experience, so the drill set was a tad painful. But we got through it and everything was fine. Though the drill sets afterward ended in actual stuff breaking for reals, but none of it belonged to my division, so I didn't care.

The worst part was the shot. I had to get an antrhax booster for our upcoming surge at the end of May. It hurt like a b****! scream I thought nothing of it, until I slept on it afterwards. Then the hurt set in. Boy, it was painful. And then, cause we like to aggravate things, hit/touched the spot where we got the shot. That caused my arm to throb for a while. The worst part? I sleep on my left side, so I've had less than comfortable sleep the last couple days. Though I did sleep for hours on end, which was really enjoyable!!! blaugh

One of the enjoyable parts was the games. I played street fighter for a good bit. SF2, 3, and 4! I like 3 and 4 the most. 4 the best, cause it's way more balanced. The trouble was these 2 guys that have too much free time and mastered the damn games. They beat the rest of us all the time, and don't even give us a handicap or anything! These guys are on the top 100 list on the internets too. But nooooo, they can't be bothered to take it easy on the rest of us. So they win every single match, and infuriate the rest of us. We tell them to give us a break, but that's apparently asking too much from them! scream

And now today! We came home early!!! blaugh We were scheduled for 4 in the afternoon, but instead we came home at 11 in the morning! That was awesome!!! So I left early, and the first thing I did was pick up my precious car! It was done being worked on last Thursday, but had to wait until today to pick it up. The total cost was $2757.83!!! But Geico covered all the costs, so it's okay! xd

I went home afterwards, and immediately took a shower. There's a reason for this. I, in my immense stupidity, forgot to bring any underwear!!! gonk Dys would be ashamed of me. So am I! Needless to say, I took a long shower, washing off all the delicate areas! I also shaved my head today, keeping it nice and smooth. mrgreen I still need to tan my head, but I'm getting to it.

I also didn't eat anything today, so what was the place I went to? You guessed it, Sushi Loco!!! whee whee whee I had me some gyoza, sushi, and the famous golden cali roll!!! It's definitely the best meal to have after eating crap for a week straight!!! I couldn't ask for anything better, cause there's nothing better than Sushi Loco. (I know I'm bragging about it, but I can't help it! It was sooooo good after being away from real food.)

Now I'm at home, watching some WWE and enjoying Mara's crazy antics! She's so adorable!!! whee I've already caught up on my manga that I've missed, and now waiting for more awesomeness. I'm not sure what I'll have for dinner, but I do have my pepsi, so everything's okay! 3nodding

Until then everybody!!!

Welcome back, zeromus. You were missed! I'm glad you got both your sushi and your car. Speaking of the car, I'm sure glad the other driver had that insurance because, OUCH!

It's earth day! What did I do? Continue over 50 years of safe, reliable operation of naval nuclear power!!! Green Peace has no idea of what they're f***ing doing protesting at nuclear power plants! Their ignorance annoys me.

Had an okay duty day yesterday. Only one 6-hour watch. Nice. mrgreen The other ship that's here, the USS Nimitz, pulled in yesterday. I went on a food run to McDonalds. It's 5 minutes from the ship. It took me over 2 hours to get food. All those damn Nimitz people kept on getting in the way, walking and driving and such. All that traffic was nothing but pain! scream

From yesterday up until I go on vacation, we finally get to go home early. Why? Cause the head boss of my division, our master chief, is on vacation! YAY!!!

After work today, I went to Horton Plaza. It's a mall in downtown San Diego. I stopped by Sam Goody. I bought an Oingo Boingo CD and an Electric Six CD. The songs are ridiculous! I think I have all the Electric Six CDs too now. Always good!

I also bought season six of DBZ. I thought by watching Dragonball: Evolution would make me stop dealing with DB forever. But then I discovered DBZ: Abridged, made by Team Four Star. They made me like DBZ all over again. Anyways, season 6 was the Cell Games, the only saga that I've never seen before. I've seen everything before and after it. Now I get to see the ridiculousness!!! (I'm watching it all right now! blaugh )

I was gonna buy some manga, but decided I spent enough today. But I did find out when Final Fantasy: Dissidia comes out! September 1, 2009!!! Right in the middle of my surge! gonk I'm gonna have it mailed to me while I'm out. I want to enjoy it as soon as possible!

My roommate's on duty today, so I gotta take care of Mara. She's sleeping right now, but I've been walking her. She keeps biting stuff and eating shoes, so I keep putting her back in her caged area. She's taken up barking now, so it's gotten a little annoying. But she's learning that I don't give in to cute puppies easily. Years of raising the little things has built up my defenses a bit. 3nodding

I have a little over a month before surge. I'm dreading it with each passing day. There's a lot I want to do before hand, yet I don't know what I'm going to do at all. I'm not motivated to do stuff either. I mainly sit around my apartment, watching TV and Mara.

I found out my brother's joining. I feel mixed about it. I don't want him to. It's a shitty lifestyle, and he doesn't know how it really is. The recruiter is giving him the spiel about joining, without telling him about all the bullshit that comes with it. On the other hand, if this is what he wants to do, for reals, then I'm gonna help him as best I can, so that he's got the best chance to succeed, and not get ******** by it. I'm gonna have a serious talk with him, soon, to see what he wants out of all this, and where to go with it after that.

Oh, and I also bought KamiChu! I heard some good things, so I'm gonna give it a try. I also saw an anime called Haibame. It's from the guy who made Lain, so I'm definitely getting it too, but later.

Well then, until the next time.

It's been a long, yet short day. Had duty yesterday. Was fine. Had my PRT today. That stands for Physical Readiness Test. I passed, but barely. I need to exercise more! sweatdrop In all actuality, I sorta have a "Buddha belly". It doesn't really stick out, and when I flex I can see my six pack somewhat. I need to run more to lose it. I think I'll do that on the surge.... On a lighter side to that, my friend always puts his hand on my stomach and says "he's gonna be a soccer player"! I get a good chuckle from it!

I have less than a month before I leave now. I'm not happy about it. I do get 2 weeks off before then! My plan is a couple days of lounging, seeing Star Trek in IMAX at midnight, then heading home for a few days. Then head back to San Diego, and do whatever. That's the jist of my plans for now.

I've talked with my brother. He's got a decent plan for what he wants to do. I'm helping him out as I can, answering questions and whatnot. When I head home, I'm gonna help him out with exercising and stuff. It's the best I can do, given my time constraints.

I'm doing my absolute best to make people as happy as possible. Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's really easy. I'm gonna effectively disappear soon, and want people to enjoy themselves while I am here. And I'm trying not to screw up, so please people, bear with me on that! sweatdrop

I'm gonna pretty much laze about the rest of the day. Not much else planned. But that doesn't mean I won't enjoy it!! Until then, have fun!!!

I'M ON VACATION!!!! I went on vacation yesterday. I would've done this post then, but I was too lazy. It happens.

The whole last week has been Hell. We had workdays, which were completely unnecessary. We just showed up, and sat around until we could go home. The duty sections could take care of the stuff themselves. But they couldn't let us have days off right before we leave, cause that's asking for too much. And then they tell us that this time is to get ready for our surge, and not to visit family and such before we leave. That is true, for the most part, but WTF?! The Navy's stand on a family is "F*** families", and that is very true! They don't care one bit. It annoys me to no end. How dare I want to relax with people I know when I'm gonna be gone for 5 months?! Stupid, that's all I got to say!

But I don't care about any of that now. I'm on vacation. I'm relaxing. On Friday, I'm gonna see the new Star Trek movie, in IMAX! Of course, I'll tell you guys about it. Then I'm gonna visit family for a few days, either 3 or 4. Haven't made up my mind on that yet. Then I'll come back, and tie up all my loose ends. Then, at the end of the month, I'll be gone, heading towards the Middle East as I start my surge. Yay. (yay said in dead tone)

But I'm enjoying myself immensely so far! I got a nice close shave on my head, and I'm starting to grow out my goatee! It's funny, people see me and are like, "you shave your head bald, but grow out a goatee?" It's pretty funny when you think about it. I'll get a pic when my goatee is more prominent.

Besides that, I have no other plans. I'm just gonna relax, and make the most of things. Sure, there are a few things that I'd like to happen a lot, but I can't have everything I want, can I? It would be great though.

My music collection is expanding more, I'm always finding more and more pics to post and save on my computer for the surge. It's great. I have my avi in that "look". It's great, cause I'm always looking for things to fit together and match really well, and I think I did that pretty well with my avi. I'm gonna try and get some avi art of him, but the guy I contacted may or may not do it. I'll have to wait and see on that one.

During my time away, I probably won't get on here at all. BUT, there are people here that I'll like to keep talking with while I'm out. So, here's what I'm gonna do: if you really want to keep talking with me when I'm gone, or be able to say hi or something every now and then, then tell me. I'll give you my email address. Then, when I'm overseas, you guys can still talk to me and everything! No, I won't get in trouble for this. And you can send pics through email too. No youtube or videos of any sort. And no links to photobucket either. Those sites are banned. I could still log in to Gaia, but out there, it'd take like an hour to load one page. So I won't be on, to say the least.

Well then, I gotta get back to cleaning my room and apartment. You all have a good day, and enjoy yourselves!!!

July 28, 2009

It's been 2 months into the surge. I already wrote this journal post once before, but it was lost when the page refreshed itself randomly, and I couldn't recover the entry. But that shouldn't be a problem this time, so hurray!!!

Let's start from the beginning.

We left for surge a day late. I was thrilled for that. I got the chance to spend one more day to talk to all my friends and family. I really loved that chance! But the next day, we did leave, and headed towards the middle east, which is where I'm at now. The first leg was pretty uneventful. We did find out that we were being extended early on, so I decided to do my best to get on as much as I possibly could. And I'm very glad for that!

The days were filled with lots of quizzes and study sheets. Why? ORSE, or the Operational Reactor Safeguards Exam. They're what decide if we're operating the reactors safe enough. But I'll get to that later. They're the reason why we study and train so hard. So, that's what we pretty much did up till Singapore.

Singapore was soooooo good!! I got to relax so much, even if it was only for 3 days. But it was definitely worth it!!! I got to enjoy some awesome food, some really tasty booze, and I was able to make some phone calls home!! And I also got some awesome souveniers for my friends! And I sincerely hope you guys enjoy them too!! ^^

After that, we headed back out, on our way to the middle east. The first week out was ORSE. My watchteam didn't have drills, but we ended up doing other stuff, so it was okay for us. We came out of that, and waited for our grade. We knew we passed, but we figured we only did average. The results came back.... And we were EXCELLENT!!! We did superbly awesome!!! Nobody thought we would do so well! It was awesome! Our big boss, the RO, actually shed tears, he was so happy about that! We finally got to relax a few days, and got to do a bunch of other stuff too, like sleep in more, and no watch!!! I love that last one a lot!!

But of course, after the celebration, it was back to work. We've started drills again, but now it's focused on getting people qualified. Which is a good thing, because more qualified people means more hookups on watch. Always nice. And, of course, we had our monthly test.

That test was bogus. Everyone in my division failed. The grader, who was our divo, was a complete idiot, and refused to grade for understanding, only giving us points if we got the answer word for word. That is complete garbage. Add to that, they asked us questions from stuff that we didn't study for this month, and the questions themselves were extremely vague, not allowing much room to get the right answer. Then there's the answer sheet. That was a complete waste of paper in itself. All of those reasons resulted in us not passing the exam. So yesterday we took the make up exam, which was a joke. It was super easy. The question told us exactly what they wanted, which was good, and it also covered pretty much the same stuff over, with just a few tweaks. I did insanely well, getting one of the highest scores of the exam. If they did the tests like they did yesterday, people wouldn't have such a hard time passing all the time. But that's just what I think on the matter.

Now, there wasn't only bad stuff going on. That I can say for sure. There was a bunch of good deals too! For one, I got a new job!!! I no longer deal with getting supplies for the division! I now work in the confidential library, and take care of the radios used in the plant! The job is cake, and really easy to do!! I'm very glad I have it now!! The guy who used to be in charge of it, though, sucked at life. He never did the maintenance, and he said he didn't have to, because he thought he was better than that. I got it all caught up, and now am just relaxing, since the maintenance isn't hard at all. As for the books, they get revisions at times, but it isn't hard to put them in at all, that's for sure. I don't have to worry about that one almost ever, which is really nice!!!

Another nice thing are the packages!! I've gotten like 6 packages!!! 4 of them are from my friend, who is on here!!! Thank you very much, by the way! *huggles* The packages have a bunch of good stuff in them too!! Food, candy, books, and my new anime Haibane!!! That one is awesome!! I love how it's going so far!!! Very nice choice, I say!! And there's also the voice messages! Those have been wonderful! My friends and family have all called me, telling me how it's going and everything!! I love that a lot!! And thanks to everybody to keep me company and whatnot while I'm on here! That's very awesome of you guys!!

And now I think I've caught you all up on how it's been since I left. It's been a good day tonight so far, and I think the rest of this surge won't be as bad as last year at all.

Well, it's time for me to finish. I miss all of you, even though I only know a few of you guys well. I look forward to coming home, and I can't wait to call you and my family to let you know I'm doing just great!!!

Until next time!

August 2, 2009

Yes, I said August 2nd. It's just after midnight over here. And today is the 4 year anniversary of joining the Navy.

I'm actually happy about this. I now only have 2 years left in the navy!!! That's awesome! I love that fact! I did have to do something for it, though. I had to sign this form, basically saying I'm not selling any of my leave time, because I'll still be in the navy. But whatever. That just means I keep my vacation time for when I come home!! blaugh

This past week has been pretty good. Not much went on, and I'm relaxing a lot! Which, I might add, is very nice. Some watch, some training, and plenty of sleep. Can't beat that! mrgreen

Some good news too. From august 10-13, I'll be in Dubai, living it up in the middle east. I don't really mind it, though it is hot. But the soda I can buy in the sandbox (a place right next to the ship where we can relax without heading into the city) is HUGE!!! An american dollar can get me a 3 liter!!! That's a lot of soda! And they have water that's almost a gallon, for only a buck or so more!! Can't beat that at all!! The only bad part is that even if I did go into the city, the souveniers suck, so I'm gonna have to wait until we hit Hong Kong or Thailand to get stuff for friends and family. I don't mind waiting, but yeah, that does kind of suck. But I'll be sure to get some really awesome stuff, so I know my family and loved ones will be super happy!!!

That's all I really have for now. I'll be sure to update more later, assuming I have stuff to actually talk about! LOL.

Until next time!!!
