I had to get out my political rambles somewhere, and what better place to do that than HERE? VooDoo's little place. Seeing as she is the only friggin one old enough to vote here, maybe this'll interest her (and anyone else now). This is Canadian Politics, mind you.

First of all, I will introduce the three main parties in running.

Now that you are aware of who I'm talking about, I can begin.
Even though I am not yet 18, and I can't vote yet (friggin election is 10 days before my birthday!), I tend to try and keep track of the basics in Canadian Politics. At the moment, our head boss is Stephen Harper, butthead of the Conservatives. He wants to get your votes by lowering the GST again, and saving you a penny on each dollar you spend. Him and his robot army also want to merge Canada and the States into one super country, and have us pay for healthcare. Then he plans to climb the empire state building and shoot lazers out of his eyes at passing airplanes, for fun... because he is Canada's PM. Now who voted that clown in?? Not me. I was 16 when he moonwalked into the PM gig. Now it is probably a little scary for me to say this, but he's not the worst guy in this ward.
Liberals are next. Apparently Jack Layton didn't get the memo that Stephen (in any language) is the name that all the big parties' leaders are using. At first, I really liked Stephane Dion. He looked like a little mouse, with that cute french accent. I thought he would be a great leader for the party that used to be the one with a brain. Now, none of the parties have brains. Harper is a robot, so what do you expect? Layton is like.. one of those crazies that tends to pretend hes normal, until he has your attention and he's all like *stare.. twitch twitch* and it's just too friggin weird. Even for me. But Dion? He was just a little cute harmless mouse. Now you're probably wondering what the picture that I choose out for the Liberals means, and I'm about to explain that all to you right now. You've probably heard of the lovely Carbon Tax that the Liberals are crazing about, and everyone else is shitting their pants for. Stephane is just a little mouse, and he's trying to get people's votes , but introducing the carbon tax? You're going to come across a hole in your rat maze that you can't squeeze through. NO ONE IS GOING TO VOTE FOR YOU WITH THAT CRAP! Not even your biggest fan (me). With the Carbon Tax the price of pretty much everything will go up, because shipping businesses are going to have to raise their fares, and the s**t will hit the fan after that. Stupid Liberals. You had so much potential.
So, I don't know why, but for some reason Jack has it in for the Mouse, and decided to team his Twitchy Weirdness with the Malfunctioning Robot. Now, when you're talking about a party in politics, it doesn't mean lots of people, loud music, drinking, and doing other unmentionables, but CLEARLY Jack doesn't seem to know that... Last I checked, you can't vote for two parties at once, so what the heck is the point of saying you're going to team up with the Robot Government? You think you're gunna get votes saying crap like that? It's like grade school again!
Jack: Mouse, you look like a mouse, I don't like you.
Mouse: Awwh, s**t.
Jack: Robot! Lets team up against the Mouse!
Robot: beep bleeeep shzzzz beep
Jack: Friends forever!
Gosh, so now I'm full of dilemma. I know I can't vote for anyone yet, but I don't even know who to root for now. I vowed early in my political awareness stage that I would never vote (or root) for Jack, and I don't plan on starting now. So, for me, it is either Conservative or Liberal. They're both acting like craps, but how can you compare Robots to Mice? You can't really...

Anything that is stated here is just my opinion, there is no for-sure facts, it's just what I've picked up along the way.

Thanks for reading!

So, I watched most of the debate, to get a bit of a glimpse as to where everyone in the political world was standing, and there was one party in that debate that I had totally forgotten about! The Bloc! No one other than Quebec votes for them anyways, but I am surprised at myself that I could have completely forgotten their existence. It was weird for me. Duceppe was a friggin creeper anyways. Not as creepy as Jack, but still.. very creepy.
Now, about the actual debate. I think that everyone except the Conservatives want to raise taxes to pay for pollution. I don't really think that is very fair because it isn't our age group's fault that pollution is there, it's our parents! We already can't just drop out of school, and then land a well paying job for the rest of our lives; we have to go for years and years of school to get a decent paying job, and then with the taxes always going up and up because of the environment... I just think that is very unfair to us. Give us a break on tuition then. In fact, make college and university free! A public thing! Now that would end a lot of poverty right there. Although that could cause a lot of other problems. But now, I've gotten off topic again! Look what you made me do ( THINK!).
THE DEBATE! I thought that Jack really didn't like the Liberals, and wanted to side with the Conservatives. After the debate, I found that that was completely wrong. Jack must have just been saying that before so that he could get on someone's good side or something..
The Green party looked pretty appealing to me. They were talking about lost jobs locally, and not having replacement jobs and stuff. I thought they were thinking pretty practically. The only thing that scares me about their policies is that they are the Green Party, and that means that they are all in it for the environment. That means, because our environment is in such horrible condition, that they would make spending cuts on pretty much everything, except the environment, and they would probably raise taxes out the roof on that one to foot the bill. Sure they'd make Canada look better, but they wouldn't make it any better for the people in Canada! That would so completely suck for bigger taxes!
I tried really hard to pay attention to anything that the Liberals would have said to make me think something good about them, and I did find one thing: They want to lower income taxes! Whoop-de-doo! What we'd be paying in the carbon tax, lowering the income tax wouldn't even be making a difference. I'm sorry Liberals, this time, you're not number one.
Even though I really don't side with the Conservatives, I don't think that I could really side with anyone else in this election. I don't know what else to do. They don't have any super-good policies or anything. They also don't have any super-bad ones, so I think they are the way to vote. A vote is pretty much wasted if it is not going for liberal, conservative, or jack, so out of the three, you might as well vote conservative. We simply can't afford the carbon tax, and Jack and Liberals are pro-carbon-tax. Why do they have to be such duches? It's really sad.. quite.

If anyone has any political rants, questions, or chatter really, just let us all discuss it HERE! <3

For a note, NDP got in for our area, and Conservative for the whole, and Liberal leader, Stephane Dion is expected to step down from Leader sometime... Very exciting stuff.
