The Journey [New RP!]

[Kalisona]

(( gonk I don't remember. We should PM the active members, too, and let them know that we have a plot. Should we divide the list in half?))

Kali spun around towards the sound, eyes narrowed.  

[ednamei]

((*shrug* Ohwell...we'll just leave it as it is xD.
Sure! Umm...I'll take Major Tippy and down.
That'll be 10 members for each of us.))

A few tail-lengths away stood a deer. It nonchalantly peeled the bark off one of the trees, unaware of the danger that lurked nearby. "Do you think we could manage to kill that?" Tarenz asked Kali. "It's not injured, but it looks a little thin and weak."  

[Kalisona]

((Okay. ^_^))

Kali nodded in reply. "I'll go for the back. You can go for the neck. Alright?"  

[ednamei]

Tarenz nodded. He slunk through the shadows, looking for a clear path that would be most likely taken by the deer. He lowered himself onto his belly so he could not be seen, his eyes never leaving the prey.  

[Kalisona]

Kali followed, slightly slower, carefully slinking towards the deer. She waited...waited...There! Kali flicked her tail to Tarenz, signaling to go. Then she lunged forward, latching teeth into the deer's back, attempting to get more leverage with her paws.

Just as he had predicted, the deer ran towards him. Tarenz lept from his hiding spot. He landed in front of the deer, giving him a clear shot at the neck. His fangs pierced the soft flesh. The familiar metallic taste of blood filled his mouth. Tarenz bit harder as the deer thrashed wildly. Soon enough, its breathing slowed until it struggled to remain alive.  

[Kalisona]

Kali released her hold on the deer as it crashed to the ground, springing nimbly away. She shook her head, shaking blood from her fur, and then looked to see if her brother needed help. Seeing that he finished off the deer perfectly, without her help, she turned to him. "Do you want to eat the rabbit as our meal, and then we'll only have the deer to drag back?"

Quick question pertaining to plot: Taimi did have to skirt the human village outside the mountains on her journey to the pack. She knows the way a man smells...should she just be kept away from the tracks for right now?))

Taimi shivered and pushed her nose further into her thick winter pelt in an effort to gain a little more warmth in it.
Winter always was her least favorite season. The cold and hunger were bad enough, but with winter came the sleep of most of the plants nearby. The constant, whispering language of greenery that always swayed at the edges of her hearing in all other seasons vanished when the first frosts came. Only the evergreens were still awake, and they were such dull, reluctant conversationalists...
Shivering again, Taimi gave up on further sleep and uncurled. Stretching as she exited her (warm-ish) corner of the cave, the little wolf glanced around, searching for the rest of the pack.  

[Kalisona]

((Hmm...Perhaps just for now. Kali and Tarenz are coming back anyway.))
Kali began to drag back the deer with Tarenz's help. Thankfully, it didn't take them too long to get back, as they hadn't gone too far. With a sigh of relief, Kali was able to drop the dead animal and wander over to the lake for a drink, conveniently forgetting that it was frozen. With an exasperated sigh, the wolf focussed, quickly dissolving enough of the ice to allow her a drink.

Something proded Orcana and she opened one eye. She found herself to be looking at the face of Twoie.
"Wake up," Twoie said. She continued to prod Orcana.
Orcana replied to this with a groan and batted her clone away. "It's too cold to wake up," she complained, wrapping her tail around herself even tighter.

Avidian moved through the snow quietly, her white fur blending with the hard pack near her. She knew that Daethian was following, slowly. He didn't really like the cold. She relished it. But... She had no idea where they were. They had been wandering aimlessly for some time, days or weeks, ever since they had escaped together. A small snarl curls her lips as she thought about those... humans, more animal then they were.

Daethian followed slowly, the cold seeping into him like a throbbing pain. He kept his eyes on Avi and his ears perked for any sound. She wasn't paying attention. He paused for a moment, feet sunk in the snow. There was an all to familiar scent on the air. Avidian and turned to look at him. He nodded, confirming what he thought. Humans...

Kamaria slowly uncurled herself and looked out the entrance of the cave. She had no particular fondness for the cold, and it was morning, not nighttime, which she would have preferred...With a sigh, Kamaria quickly curled up again, wrapping her tail tightly around her body.  

[Alutian]

Taimi wandered out of the cave to the diminishing fresh-kill pile and took a deep whiff of the cold air. Two of the pack had been by here just a little earlier--okay, they probably would have gone hunting.
Since the rest of the pack seemed to be resting and Taimi didn't want to hunt on her own that morning, she trotted over to a nearby pine and tried to eke some words out of it.
Good morning.
guuuuuddh...whhhhhaaadd?
Any news in the forest?
Ssssllooowwerrr. Guuuudh whhhhaaaadd?
Taimi beat her head against the bark. This was going to take a very long time.  

[Kalisona]

Kamaria sighed and slowly stood up. She couldn't fall back asleep. Shivering as the cold wind blew through her fur as she stepped out of the den, Kamaria looked around. Nobody was around...At first glance. Then she noticed Taimi...beating her head against a tree?
Slightly concerned, Kamaria padded forward and asked softly, "What's wrong, Taimi?"  

[Alutian]

Taimi whirled in surprise. "Oh! Sorry, was I making too much noise? It's this stupid tree."
Guuuuudh...whaaaaaad?
Taimi winced and ignored the pine. It would eventually settle back down and forget about what little conversation they had already managed.
