With in the island lie many lands and areas. Some have easy terrain others more deadly. Easy or not many herds or unicorn roam the area in search of a place called home. Day by day, week by week more and more herds, or bands, are created.
Now it is your unicorns chance to create a band of their own.

What is a herd?
A herd is a band of horses, or in this case unicorns, who roam and live together. It consists of an Alpha, a protector and several other unicorns.
Who leads the herd?
The herd is lead my an Alpha, or dominant, mare. She is also referred to as the boss mare or lead mare. The lead mare is usually the eldest and wisest of the herd. All responsibilities of the herd fall upon her. She must know the terrain and resources of the land well and know and determine the best routes when traveling. The lead mare also gets the best grazing spots and first rights to the watering holes.
(At times we may allow a Stallion to be an alpha, especially if you are starting a bachelor herd)
So what about the protector?
The protector is the lead Stallion in the group. He protects the herd from predators and runs off other stallions. His job is to also bring up the rear when the herd is traveling, making sure the others don't fall behind. His worthiness lives as long as he is healthy enough to continue his job. At times he will let one younger male travel with his as a successor of sorts.
What about the rest of the herd?
The rest of the herd generally follow the lead Mare. The herd will not grow too big though since once a foal reaches sexual maturity (Adult hood) they are kicked out. Mares will go join a different herd, while Stallion will band together to start bachelor herds until they can start a herd of their own. This does not always happen though. Some will be aloud to stay with in the herd.
How it works:
After getting a few people to agree to join your herd fill out the form below and PM it to the MULE. Midy, Ithillien or Ririka will review it and replay back. After you have our approval you may start a thread in the Herd Sub-forum just for your Herd.
