Arianeira was shocked. "So, effectively one hundred per cent dead or as good as." She looked down at her screen, watching the dot fall below the level of the scanning system. "We were well away. Was that strictly necessary?" She could not quite prevent a hint of anger creeping into her tone.

The Hyperon answered through Richard civilly, its tone unable to shift to the sarcastic tone it sought to use. "If you believe that the Christine would have allowed you to escape, and not give chase after such work to lure us in, you truly do not understand how the universe works."

"And if you weren't aware that a thing that size can't beat me for speed, you're a computer." She remarked snidely. "Now shut up." She put her foot down on the hyperdrive, more than tripling their speed. "The supply of this is limited and expensive. But damn fast. It was petty to waste it to prove a point, but Arianeira was past caring, seething silently.

"I am pleased to note your are capable of sight, and can tell that I am a computer," The Hyperon reported through Stratford, then was forced out by distance. Stratford slumped sideways in his seat as it drew his conciousness away with it.

Arianeira kept flying. She was tempted to try and remove the psychotic machine from its place in his head but knew that if Stratford woke up and caught her, he'd probably to choke the life from her with a hand around her throat. It wasn't worth it. If the man wanted to spend his life married to a jealous machine, so be it. She was ready to jettison it however. The last action of the Hyperon had been purely spiteful and chilling in the deliberate, yet unnecessary, deaths of the people aboard. That was not how she operated and she was not prepared to go along with it. Stratford could take care of himself. Besides, even if he didn't, the stupid chip in his head would.

After a short time, Captain Stratford felt himself coming back to himself, drawn from his nightmares with a scream.

Arianeira flinched as the sound reverberated through her head, yanking the steering column sharply to right, then hastily correcting her course. That hurt. Glancing across at Stratford, she remarked, "You're awake I take it?"

Stratford rose shakily, striding to the female and slid his arms around her neck in a hug from behind, nose against her hair.

Ryu was speeding through hyper space on the panther when suddenly the engine died
"Son of a...."
Ryu got out of his c**k pit and went down to the maintenance. He pulled out a wrench out of the tool box that was next to him.
"If only i had the money to fix you up..."
