"Look--it go higher!" Feverishly the undersized, pipsqueak of a Igglybuff girl waved her arm, point and jabbing into what was thin air. Really, she was pointing at the kite far above her head. This was her first time experiencing a kite and to be honest, she was enjoying it... a lot. However, Jamie was the type of kid who naturally got excited about silly things, such as kite flying. Alexander knew this and therefore quietly smiled as Jamie continued to shout and giggle at the amazing contraption floating above her head. It was only when she started to jump about that he became slightly concerned.
"J-jamie. Why don't you try it--" softly, sighed the gentleman as with one hand he reached down and gently tapped the girl on the shoulder, and with the other struggled to pull the kite in. "Careful now--" Alexander warned, wrapping the cheap cotton string around her wrist. "Don't let it go. If you do. It will fly away...and you will fly away with it."
And at these words, Jamie laughed. She laughed, that was, until Alexander let go of both rope and child, and Jamie went surging forward. "Aaaii--" squeaked the girl, as she all but ran to keep herself from tumbling over. The situation didn't bode well, and under his breath, Alexander cursed his stupidity.

" How come she can fly and I can't" Brianna asked pointing at a pinkish looking girl who seemed to be about to defy gravity at any moment. "I Have wings and I can't fly yet." She grumbled sullenly , ignoring the fact that the girl was attached to a kite, after all what did that have to do with anything.. Said tan and brown wings were extended, examined the folded back with a sigh. Brianna might have shared a great deal of Dna with a pidgey but she wasn't flight capable at this point in time.
Her father shrugged " No clue why don't you go ask?" he suggested his tone indicating that he himself wasn't really interested in the answer.
Rolling her eyes Brianna jogged towards the other girl, yoyo tied to a jeans belt loop at her side and threatening to unravel and trip her at any moment.

"I DUN LIKE THIS--" Tears were beginning to fill Jamie's eyes. Poor girl, it seemed every new adventure brought with it some unpleasantry. If things kept up, by the time she was a teenager she wouldn't want to do anything but sit in her room all day long. And that just wouldn't be healthy. Thus, as if the cosmos were alive, and understood the dilemma at hand, the winds died down. This of course did two things: one, it stopped Jamie from nearly tumbling down the hill she was about to go over. The other thing it did, however, was to send the kite into a full nose dive...but not before it had the chance to change directions.
Instead of falling over the hill it was supposed to, it came back in Jamie's direction, or rather, in the direction behind her. Like all children, Jamie's followed its path intently, wondering what was about to happen. Thus far the pink bundle of joy had, had several lessons with gravity but the message had never quite set in.
"Eee--" Surprised to see another child headed her way, Jamie clapped her hands over her mouth. Aah! The kite looked like it was about to hit her! "Mmn, mng!" Jamie twisted and wriggled as she watching disaster happen before her eyes. It occurred to her a little late to remove her hands and shout, "Watch out!" But at that time of course, the kite had already crashed. . . into . . . the ground.
Hmn. Ya know, Jamie needed a little more lessons in judging distance too.

Brianna's eyesight was far too ken to allow her to miss the kite as it headed in her direction. She was a bit more intent on watching the strange pink girl than the falling object though, she could tell it wasn't going to hurt her. Had she been younger she might have squealed and tried to dode out of the way as she had done in times past when playing dodgeball with her cousins.
Approaching girl Brianna laughed a bit at the post danger warning. " I'm ok what about you? I thought were gonna fly away."

"Pha--" Jamie's little body let out a sigh as the excitement of flying the kite began to fade away. That was...scary! Scary, scary, scary...and still...she wanted to try and fly it again.
Distraction got the better of her, though, and thus Jamie turned her attention to other matters. Blue eyes glanced up at the shadow cast across her pink skin by Brianna. Ouh, an older girl..."Mmn, ya. I allright."
The smile and voice were allmost too cheerful. Then again, coming from something made of puke-cotton-candy pink, what was to be expected? It would have been frightening if she had replied differently.
"Jamie!" She pointed to herself, giving a quick, yet efficent, introduction.
