Huh, thought I'd see at least one (probably missed it,) reference to the Inventions stuff. Kaddan, phht.. I've been power leveling since Fina Fantasy I on the old NES, so I could never hate a game for doing what is logical to do, to beat a game and enjoy the story, which is supposed to the point. The Bonus dungeons? Yeah, hard, are supposed to be. The story's over, so what's to complain about there, besides the obvious.
No.. for me, at least in the early going, after I hit the 'magic' point of recruiting Misty Lear (loverly lass at that,) and began the wonderful journey of Inventing, that I hit the point of balding my hair follicles to DANG far!!!
I have the strategy guide, I've done such with every RPG game (and Star Wars Battlefront I and II,) so as to better prepare for battles, and see the story plot, which is why I play the game and all. And so, when I get to the point where I start inventing to prepare to kick Crossel hiney to my whims, that I come to the angsty point here.
I have about only 300k+ Fol, even with my power leveling and all. I know when to start to upgrade, about to the point of threshold where my character damage can not keep up with mob HP levels. Having to heal to much after 'each' fight, even with strong characters, can attest to my vocabulary at said point of the game. (I'm German/Irish, so one can guess my lingo of salty usage when I get to Sphere 211 101-210 and all.)
And so when I need to spend needless Fol on trying to get the dang Orichalcum from Lear, Mack and Maria, at the price indicated, and waste three hits on my precious Fol, on two run attempts (needed for Synthesis later and all,) and get zilch, and then proceed to do this at 'least' four more times before an Orichalcum appears, making me waste a HECK of a lot of time just to get the stinking +500 ATTK hunk of rock, I then become a 'wee' bit perturbed. (Actual language not TOS compatible here.)
I got annoyed with it all, that I grew to hate the LOAD option in the Camp menu. Ergh! Not one of my favorite methods of game play. Preparing for Luther and further on ingame and after story, included, don't help my blood pressure.
It 'should' be easy, I get the point of the randomness, but sometimes a friggen game CPU can be a bit 'too' annoying with such aspects. I mean sheesh!
There, got it out. I feel better. =@#=;;;
