So now that the "urban exploration is illegal" note, why don't we discuss what it is? Urban exploration goes by many names. "Urban exploration" can be shortened to "urbex" or "ue." It is also known as "infiltration," "spelunking," "urban caving," and "hacking," but it can be refered to by other names as well. Simply put, urban exploration is going places where the public isn't supposed to go. These places include active and abandoned buildings, drains, sewers, and construction sites.
Urban explorers are not to be confused with graphitti artists, or scavengers. They generally follow an ethical policy in which they "take only memories, leave only footprints." They do not take souveniors, or destroy the plaves they visit. Urban explorers are often interrested with history and are only observing the world around them.
