They had tons of them, apparently. Because, you know, people were buying up that Soul Eater or whatever s**t is popular.
I cosplayed as BLACKHOLE. IN THE SUN. IN DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELOS BLAZING SUN AND NO ONE RECOGNIZED ME. But they recognized a really bad cosplay of L. :c Disappointing.
That is Disappointing! Some people really need broaden their horizons... Not that I'm necessarily one to talk, but still!

I was disappointed especially when someone dressed as their own Naruto fan character got more attention.
I was wearing a full body suit. I worked by buns off to get BH's body type. I am saying this while eating greasy chow mein. D: I actually just wimped out and painted the head piece red where the hole would be. Maybe that was why. The most attention I got was some guy who thought I was some Marvel Comics character. Yeah, that's not a company filled with Mary-Sues. :C Very disappointed that day
Yikes that would be really warm :/ And that's amazing that you got your body type to be the same as his. I doubt it was your mask that caused the problem.
Honestly, I think it's that UM just doesn't have the same popularity as other anime/manga right now. Which is disappointing, but something we have to live with.
It's not so much to me about UM not being as popular, it's just... A Naruto. Fan. Character. I should get some attention too, Blackhole looks like a sentai thing. D':
